It's not an alternative to anything, it's a great watch all on its own. I own one of these as well as a Speedmaster. I do not feel like I settled. I got a good deal on a great watch and was treated like a valued customer rather than someone who should be grateful for the privilege like Rolex AD's are famous for.
I own a Submariner, a Speedmaster and some 15 years ago sold the '93 version of this watch in what I consider my dumbest horological decision ever ;( I now can't bring myself to buy it back at 3 times the price for a worse condition model. Ergo, I'm looking at this one. The latest, while excellent is just that bit too blingy, the waves too 'excessive' and, is a tad oversized. If only this model had a subtle wave pattern, it would be spot on. Charming review by the way my man. Subscribed :-)
I bought the same model but black dial back in 2013. I then bought the green Rolex Sub back in 2014 directly from a Rolex boutique. Both watches had as much wrist time as each other back then, but I was considering flipping the Seamaster and just wanted to wear the Sub daily. My god! Due to the growing inflated price of my green Sub on the second hand market over the years (currently at 4-5x of what I originaly paid for), I decided that it was too dangerous to flash this around in London (just like what you said). So now my Seamaster is my daily wear, with my green Sub used for only on special days. I've grown to appreciate the Seamaster a lot more than my Sub, and I feel like my Seamaster is part of me. It's definitely a watch that can be worn on any occasion and attire. One of the best thing is you can wear the Seamaster with a T-shirt on in the most run down places in London and no one is going to rob you over it, allowing you to appreciate your time piece without having to cover it up with your sleeve.
I feel you! I own the green sub and the original tudor Pelagos as well, and have the same situation going on here in Chicago. Pelagos is my daily. I’m hoping to purchase this blue one soon…
My first luxury watch and definitely do not regret it. Probably shouldn't have made it my work watch, but it is just so durable and versatile it was impossible not to. Owned it 5 years now and was of course Pierce Brosnan inspired.
I have the black version. I had it serviced 3 years ago by Omega as I bought it second hand. If I wind it and leave it it'll last for 48hrs before stopping which is correct. If I wear it and take it off at night it'll last for about a day before stopping. I had a Seamaster 552 from the 60s which would last for three days and was half the thickness.
Coming from this previous model I thought the same thing. I've since traded up to the current model and can say it is light years ahead on build quality and looks.
@@ameza357 Had it myself. (SM300 2018) in my opinion a watch VERY BAD DESIGNED. Sold it, of course lost a bit, but it is what it is. I stayed with the previous version...And a 1966 SM300 :P. I will buy the PO40mm tho.
No bro, actually i bought it like 4 months after it came out, and sold it after 3 months of ownership because i didn't like it. I still have the previous version (this one) and my 165.024😅@@27million
Does anyone know if the indices and omega logo are made out of white gold ? According to this review it's not ..but then i read another review and they say that indeed they are
It's designed that way ..read a few articles..some say it's liguid metal some say it's some kind of oxide ..but to me that's the 1 little knock on this watch.. just picked up the Chrono 44mm version and i wish it had whiter engraving but starting to warm up to it . Aside from that it's fantastic piece
It's a beautiful timepiece, the only thing I absolutely disguise is it's humongous price, this Seamaster has me drowning & the only one to save me is Seiko Sports 5 SRPD51K1!💙

You definitely settled. Submariner is a far superior watch.
@@whereRbearsTeethno it’s not 😂
@gomuscup2162 I’ve owned both. It definitely is.

The best version of a modern SM300. New one is simple horrible.

Rhodium.
Nothing on this watch is white gold.
This 2012 3rd generation seamaster is the best looking so far. The 2018 model is not as elegance
Does anyone know if the font on the bezel fades over time ?? I just got one and in certain light you can’t even see the white paint

I've had mine 6 years, the bezel numbers are fine. I prefer them to the bright white ones on the new model.
You bought a fake
I wear my Seamaster every day ❤
My very good customer's watch !!!! Great watch !!!

Beautiful watch!!
Nice watch but I prefer the newest model, especially the white dial.
