I still won’t comment about warrior cats but ya there’s my reaction to that. Just a bit of a roller coaster from “yay!” to “Nooo!” to “Waaaaait a moment” :P
Lol, I haven't read warrior cats, well all of it so let me just squeeze in the crowd "Warrior Cats?!"
I was able to translate the scribbles inside Imp's pocket watch, and what I found hit me like a ton of bricks.
First, I should clarify that the Solish language isn't too hard to decipher because each symbol in the Solish alphabet corresponds with an English one. I went through some of PetPyves's animation memes (Take a Slice, TRNDSTTR, Dreams, and Shape of You,) and was able to get a basic of idea what symbols meant what.
The first two notes in the pocket watch (22:55) weren't too shocking. The note on the left says "Aleyda." I checked the Origins casting call, and Aleyda is indeed a character, a reaper to be precise. I assume that Aleyda is Imp's love interest, or at least an ally. The note on the right says "Shiva," (the leader of the rift, as previously established in the series.) The note on the top left corner at 23:04 says "count," and has an arrow pointing to the space where Imp places the first of his tally marks. Now here's where things get interesting:
The note on the bottom right corner says "Thirteen souls."
Thirteen souls? But we've been told over and over again that Imp only needed one to escape the watch! I believe that Imp planned on reaping the souls of the vessels along with May's. The biggest question I have is "what made him change his mind?" HAS he changed his mind, or is he just waiting for the vessels to meet their inevitable fates so he can claim their souls?

holy heck does this shine light on abusive and manipulative relationships. i’ve never really seen anything like this, it really shows the backstory of abuse and the abuser, something we don’t see a lot in this community, so massive kudos dude, it really hit a nerve with this one, i’ve dealt with situations like this before and it’s really nice to see them in media. great job dude!

Especially from the perspective of the kid and done in such a great and realistic way. This is one of the most realistic portrayals of *that certain incident* that I've seen.
I wonder If Imp was a really twisted person, the definition of greed and selfishness. Maybe being put in that pocket watch had a deeper meaning than we understand. I feel like May changed him, or maybe he's two-faced.

Well this was a nice twist in chapter 1 we saw a more friendly side of Imp and now on chapter 2 we saw a more manipulative and sinister side of him, everyone is talking about Reed and yall right but what about Ivy? I always thought she blamed Reed but she doesnt, she just wanted to have a life again, at least thats how I see it!

This really explains reed’s character. Hates being alone because he was abused and only had ONE person there for him. His short temper, he got from his father. Hates see pain in others from seeing his mom hurt from his father. It’s so detailed!

Oh wow Imp. Did you hide most of Ivy’s good memories of Reed from May? Goodness. Now I’m wondering what he’s planning. Or, was planning? I do hope being with May changed him from being like... whatever this Imp is... completely.
Honestly, now Ivy and Reed’s story is even more heartbreaking for me. I wish so badly they had been able to fix their relationship, but it clearly wasn’t working... Reed obviously needed to control whoever he partnered with, out of pure fear of loneliness, but Ivy wanted to be her own cat, be free. Argh. If only Reed had been able to grow in a different direction, after the time with his father. Where, instead of living in fear, he tried to move past it.

Too many emotions from this episode I gotta go take a nap or something before I explode. Also Holly I have seen quite a few animated series but this is my #1 favorite. It tops everything, the official stuff you can find on Netflix and TV, stuff on RUclips, Twelve and Origins are better than it all! ;D
Edit: Oh ya! I forgot to add that Burdock is awesome! The moment I saw him I started smiling. The leaf on his face, failing at flirting, and just being awkward. It put a smile on my face and I hope we get to see more of him!

For some reason, I don't feel bad for Reed. Yes, he came from a bad background, but he let that take control of his life. He just didn't see the possibility of moving on from it, and it makes him unable to move on. I know he must have a temper and might get a little out of control, but still. A *real* changed person would have calmed down or just been calmer. Go ahead, argue with me and try to change my mind. It probably won't have an effect.

The Reed symbolizes protection and all Reed wanted was somebody he could love and protect. That’s deep.

Also I feel terrible for Reed. I mean, It's nice Ivy had a great outcome but.. Wasn't that sort of selfish? Reed was broken, his childhood scarring him. Think of how terrible it must've been to be looked down upon by your father, and have him beat your mother. Part of me was upset that Reed struck Ivy, but then again it's all he really knew. He was obviously disgusted with himself, and he just didn't know how to handle his emotions effectively. Ivy said she would stay with him forever, just to leave because I believe she felt abused. Also that meeting with imp, sketchy. Has me second guessing this entire story. I hope Reed finds someone that'll teach him not everybody is bad, who'll teach him how to be stronger. However, I feel like this'll leave him more broken than before. Or maybe he'll be on a search for something greater in life.

Thinking in her point of view, what would you have done? Stay there and keep being abused, it would only get worse from there. Sure Reed had his reasons for doing so, he didn’t know what else to do but there is no excuse for being abused. All Ivy wanted was a happy life, not to sacrifice her life for someone who abused her just because she promised to him she’d stay with him forever!
@Wowie Zowie I don't know why, but looking back to twelve episode 2 after watching this episode seems really different. Reed acts different, in twelve, he seems Like a plain, abusive, evil cat, but in orgins, I don't know, I think he felt guilt and disgusted to himself. I'm starting to wonder if Imp was actually controlling him? He started to act different after ivy met imp, what if Imp is controlling him? Well he can control maple, so why can't he control him? Maybe at the first vessels, he was so desperate to get out, Like who knows for how long he's been there, he could lose his mind. But you're right, abuse is abuse. Anyways my theory is probably a a stupid theory that probably won't happen hahaha

I don't think imp was "evil" I think he was drawn mad due to a lack of communication and he would do anything to escape, but then may changed him, as we see him play around with the kids and we see that they think of him as an uncle. If he was evil he would have killed or done something bad to them. He could have easily taken the souls and left May to be dead forever. He wouldn't be so kind to Hollow if he was evil. I think he just went crazy for a while but may brought him back. That leads me to my theory that Imp at one point had feelings for May, but saw into their future and got over it as he knew she never would love him back. AND I STILL SHIP MAY X IMP AND YOU CANT STOP ME!!!!

Besides Imp being pretty creepy in this, there's such a deeper side to Reed that makes me actually like him a lot. I can't think negatively of him anymore seeing how he probably went through something like that often. Oh boy I can't wait for the next episode!

Well damn Imp... I mean, he's a reaper, after all, so he can't be all smiles and sunshine. People are saying May changed him, but Imp could just very well be soft on May and her family because she was there for him when no one else was. He said all three outcomes for Ivy were good, so that means one of them HAD to include Reed. So Imp either lied about all three being happy, or he lied about none having Reed. Either way there's something more to Imp than what lays on the surface.
Yeah maybe he was mad but may change him after this because a few minutes to a hour with someone probably won't change you and he was in the watch for years of years of years of years of years of years so may probably had to spend much more time with him to change him so maybe may change him at least a little.
Wow. This new side of Reed really struck me. I have some characters that have had abusive parents or no parents at all, and I’ve researched and developed them so intensely, it’s probably one of the things I focus on the most. I really sense the thought and work you put into developing Reed and showing his emotional development. Hats off to you. :3 I’m impressed. Very moving. 10/10 would recommend. Oscar. Nobel Prize. i honestly feel bad for both sides, ivy was in a controlling relationship, and reed was turning into the cat he hates most. i can honestly feel how much effort was put into these characters and their backstories.

Aw this is so sad! Poor Reed. I love how it explains his reasons for what he did to Ivy. He had such a sad life. It's like you think you have them figured out as just a bad person, but there really way more complicated. I hope Reed figures out what's he's going to do next. This was such an awesome chapter! This turned out amazing! Reed's story was one many relate to and suffer through, but in the end he was ok. This was indeed a strong topic, but it not only gave insight to Reed and Ivy's lives. But the issues many people face. This was really well done 💛

I feel like few storytellers are brave enough to dive into characters with Reed's background, but you did Holly and you did it well. Ivy too, was brilliantly done. The audience can tell you put your heart and soul into these characters and this story, and I'm blown away! Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this for us, I truly appreciate it. It's inspired me to follow my own passion for writing, so again, thank you.

Quick analysis and thoughts on him:
First scene he's in, he manipulative, calm and collected. He's all business and knows what he wants. Last scene; he seems to be going mad and is desperate to escape the clock, erm, pocket watch. We know he's BEGGING to get out of there, and will do what ever it takes. We also know he's the starter of a rebellion of sorts so it makes sense he'd know how to push Ivy's buttons, since in order to be a leader you have to really know people. I don't think this episode shows him as evil, but shows a side of him that knows what he's doing and a part of 'why'. While Imp is seemingly kinda sketchy, don't be so quick to assume he's evil. We've just been shown by Reed that there's a reason for everything, hold your horses and don't be so quick to judge.
And Burdock, I love Burdock, you better take good care of our Ivy young man
This is an incredible episode Holly! I really felt the emotions the characters were feeling and it really hit me hard! I think that is a huge improvement over the years! Keep it up girly!

I... I can't believe how well written all of this is, it's like... I had to watch Twelve episode 2 again to remember and everything FITS PERFECTLY. I mean, not even most Cartoons or tv shows have the story so neat like this. And it shows so well each personality and reason to be, and this is only episode 2! I can't wait to see whats coming! Awwh man, just... Wow Holly. I'm just about to go do schoolwork and you hit me with these feels? I'm in shock! Everything about this epiaode was quite the ride to sit through. The art for this episode was extemely well drawn, and I can see it being on TV! The voice actors each delivered amazingly. Each voice felt natural and sincere, and I felt all the emotions and hardships the characters were going through. They all seem to have such more depth now! Seriously, I would make a character analysis on Reed or Ivy if I had the time. Topics such as abuse and clinging on to someone else can be very touchy and very hard topics to discuss and potray, but your writing, the facial expressions, the voice delivery, everything felt so real! You and everyone else involved in the creation of this episode did such a profound job. I am so happy and estactic to be working with you all, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of Origins come to life. Thank you for bringing us to your world, Holly.

EDIT: AWW OKAY, that one made my heart ache. Reed was a sweet kid but his father just went wrong, that lead to him having control issues and trust issues and the like when he was with Ivy, that probably led to a lot of emotional breakdowns and manipulation on his part because he didn't want to be like his father but he was slowly becoming him. Now, Ivy on the other hand, wasn't equipped to handle Reed's baggage but i'm so happy that she's going to get her happy ending.

THREORY: orgins is the bad side of every character and that’s why imp is like this. origins is showing the bad side of the cast. that’s why in the prologue May had a evil version of her. those are there bad sides coming to haunt them. This is the side of the story we didn’t see.

I don't condone his actions either. The point was to show that no one is "evil" for no reason and prove how imperfect Ivy and Reed's relationship was. Ivy needed freedom, Reed needed control, and ultimately, it caused a lot of pain.
@@PetPyves I completely agree and I like the series because if it keeps going in the direction it is I like how it shows both sides of the story. I feel like this episode in specific can hit home for a lot of people and shows that there are good ways and bad ways to handle a relationship or just situations in life. I hope to see more amazing work in the future and I really do appreciate how much work and effort is put into each of these episodes.
