My job is designing molds for liquid plastic and purely from a technical insight I would really (really) like to own a pair just to see how they did this. Because the engineering on this "shoe" must have been off the charts to be able to make this. Especially with these three colors on them.
I think the rumor is the pairs with one “color” are made in the USA and the “marbled” or “multi” colored pairs are made in China. Apparently only China can manufacture that “colorway” atm? I’m not confirming nor denying this claim. I believe the “marbled” ones all say “made in China” on the “sock liner?” And the single colors all say “made in the US”
@@TheSkepticalGrassHopper Well, I got the MX Sand pair recently and indeed that states "Made in China" on the liner, and it is a multicolored pair so the rumour holds true for that pair. Actually great to see the pair in-hand because making these colors doesn't seem that exotic knowing how some of the injection processes work. Molding the sneaker itself is still a great feat of engineering but the parting lines of the tooling are clearly visible and I expect the runner to be foamed after molding to get the bulky shape.
Yo Chris thanx for the mention. I love to wear the foam runners especially to theme parks or to the beach like you mentioned. They are definitely clutch for the beach. Alot of people especially older adults ask about them. I wanted to say more but the line was moving quick. I have a DHGate pair and they were fine for running around. I eventually got a 10/10 rep and omg the material is amazingly comfortable. I would never ever ever pay resell price but they do serve a purpose of quick, comfort, eye catching, & easy to wear.

I love my foam runners, totally get why people wouldn’t like them they’re wild and pretty crazy looking, but that’s kinda what I like and they’re super comfy. I’ve gotten all my pairs for retail and for $80 idk if you can beat the comfort outside of maybe crocs, but I honestly think these look way better, and are more comfortable than crocs.
From my 22 years experience in injection Molding, I believe they are moulded using core/cavity molds and they simply are demolded by stretching them off the core part
We need these. Yeezy brand is the only one really innovating and driving the industry forward right now. Everyone else is just capitalising on their past innovations because of the retro wave. Nike especially. The only thing innovative coming out of that brand right now is the creative freedom they're offering with certain collabs and also really overpriced tech-wear.
100% agree on the innovation... the longer Yeezy has carried on the more i have appreciated them because of their innovation and pushing design boundaries. Im happy to own a pair of these and think they look great personally.

Yeah, it's craziness, these things and the Yeezy slides go for crazy resell prices. The retail price is $80, and no, they do not come in half sizes. They usually fit true to size, except for the latest colorway(red), the latest drop runs about a half size to a full size small, not sure why. Anyway, thanks again for a great review. I have to agree, these may be comfortable,but they are ugly as sin!

Great review. The DSW joints you're talking about are the Merrill Hydro Moc and I highly recommend them! I got them in the black/grey marbled color. I'm in San Diego so great for the beach, tide pools (amazing grip), amusement parks, or just running errands/kickin' it.

I don't think these are made exactly in one piece/pour. There's like a line before the "uppers" end and the midsole/outsole ends. Maybe they do 2 pours and fuse them together before they dry completely?

The line could be where the moulds meet so it can be opened and the shoe removed.
