- So the Micke desk in the Ikea catalogue doesn't look like the box which arrived on your doorstep. Assembling it is your next task but the only manual you have is a set of pictures. Sometimes you may need a little bit more guidance, watch my video demonstration and your package contents will soon be looking like the workstation you were dreaming of. The assembly process is not as difficult as you might think.
The size:
Width: 105 cm Width: 41 3/8 "
Depth: 50 cm Depth: 19 5/8 "
Height: 75 cm Height: 29 1/2 "
Max. load: 50 kg Max. load: 110 lb
Drawers sizes:
big drawer: 61,5 cm x 36,5 cm
small drawer: 23,5 cm x 36,5 cm
depth: 8 cm
Useful information:
* It is easy to assemble, even if you don't have experience.
* The outlet at the back will allow you to keep the cords and cables together and out of sight.
* You can mount the storage unit either to the right or left, depending on your needs and available space.

* Adjustable shelves in the storage unit allow you to regulate their height, according to your preference. Alternatively, you can remove them completely if you need more space e.g. to held a computer tower.
* An opening in the back panel is not ideal if you want to use the cabinet for storage. But it's a great feature if you decide to put the computer or other electronic equipment there as it provides fairly decent ventilation.
* Extra drawer units the exact height of the desk are available. Very handy when you want to extend the working space.
* The back of desk is fully finished so it doesn’t have to be placed next to the wall.

great video :) this helped soo much esp when the diagram was a little confusing. just disclaimer to other viewers, this video makes the storage on the left so if you want it on the right remember to flip to pg25 and continue this tutorial the other way round. i had to go back and redo the storage part cuz I wanted it on the right. thanks nemo :)))

I literally broke the screws to mine so because I was working on it for 4 hours and I when I’m stressed I kinda freak out so I just was doing whatever and eventually broke it ✌️

I wish the pieces were numbered to correspond with the booklet. Attempting my first assembly this week. It's a bit overwhelming for a newbie.
I'm sure you'll manage to do it. The aim of the film was to visualize the whole process a bit and emphasize the most tricky bits

Yes it is. It's pretty spacious, you should have enough space to study.
It's big enough for a tkl and still have lots of mouse room

I built this desk a couple of weeks ago but can't get the small drawer in. I have double checked the instructions and it is put together right. I had the same problem with the larger drawer but managed to wiggle it in, but the small drawer won't go in no matter what I do! Has anyone else experienced this problem and have a solution for it?

I’m looking for good reviews into this desk and I have a few questions if you don’t mind.
• Is the desk sturdy (can hold computer and multiple monitors
• are those drawers in the file area removable so like I can put a pc in there
• is it worth like the 70 something bucks?

The desk is very sturdy. We bought it especially for a computer. You can take out the drawers and place a computer, it's very easy to do.
We paid £60 for it and believe that it is a good value for money.

You will manage to do it no problem. The desk is a good size, enough space for monitor and console gaming.
Ikea should put the link to your video on their manual cause it’s just damn confusing.i had to call my watchman and pay him to do it before i found this video
Well, hello. I ordered this desk and it just arrived. I'm a little annoyed though because on their site it lists "dark brown" as the desk's colour and on the package too, yet it's black. It looked way different on the photos on the site. I'm thinking of calling them but I don't think I'll achieve much, they rarely ever pick up their phones anyway. Edit: I just saw a couple of comments saying that the colour is brown-black, depending on the light. Well, they should include that on the product details because it's misinformation otherwise in my opinion.

The desk will work and look perfectly fine if I skip/omit the storage door? Prefer to have open storage 🤔 and I hate to have to adjust the screws to get the ideal gap (what you did near end of this video). I got OCD, that will take me forever to do 😂😂😂
Yes, you don't need to install the door. The desk is sturdy enough, it won't make any difference
I just bought this one and I was going to to return it because I saw some white parts lol. I just realized that those are the drawers hahahha

Very nice. This 1m+ table very suitable for the first study/work table. Excellent. I am looking to buy the small (73cm) one, but this video showed me the screwing and nails, how to screw in which was my concern because i never assembled a table before, doesn't look too difficult as long as patient and remember to use a cardboard/cloth underneath the table while assembling. Ikea style and design with the stopper to reduce sound in the cabinet and steel leg. Very good ***

i can’t tell if this is brown or black, i want something black is the brown noticeable? this one is perfect for what i want but brown wouldn’t match my room :/
it is black with hints of brown. You have to look closer to see brown shades/areas. at the first glance the desk looks black.

Yes, I don't see a problem. I have desktop PC and a 24 inch monitor, they fit.
The drawers are not fitting in properly for some odd reason. I have another one the exact same kind and the new drawers fit in fine but for the new one it keeps jamming. Does it matter which of the grey slides I used for the drawers?

You only need a screwdriver. It's not hard to put together, even if you don't have experience, just follow the instruction exactly step by step.
hey i was wondering exactly how wide is the gap space between the cabinet and other side where your chair tucked under. i have a fairly big chair and was wondering whether to get this because i don’t know if my chair would fit.

Any idea if it’s easy to flip the cabinets around to the other side? Have a friend giving one of these away and they have the drawers on the opposite side than what I need them and I know they can be installed on either side but I’m not sure how much of a hassle it will be

It will be quite a job if you are not experienced as you'll have to dismantle most of the desk.

At the first glance it is black. When you look closer you can see brown hints . It depends on the lighting and I suppose the batch as well. But I would say it looks very black rather than very brown, the video shows the colour pretty well.

All the holes are in the desk. You don't have to drill anything
In another video I saw there was a metal bar that supports the bottom part of the big drawer (underneath). The user said that IKEA didn't have a hole to place that metal bar though, and had to use a drill. Did you have that @k-nemo?
