I did my door replacement on a 06 Suburban. I used a 01 door and the wires were different so I took off the panel and wires and put my old ones in the replacement door I also used my original panel
Nice, I paid $80 for both driver and passenger doors for my 94 Silverado 2500. Wiring was all there and working and door panels came with. Market place is a good way to save a few bucks
Yeah, those doors are heavy. I saw those issues coming. :-) Good video. I have to replace the bushings in mine so I have to remove it and this video was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thanks.
Thanks for posting this very useful video! I've got to do the same thing for my son's 2011 Silverado. Knucklehead keeps driving off road on accident and smashing into trees. BTW, I used to be built like you back in the day when I was a golden gloves champ. Getting old sucks - enjoy it while you can :)
My 2005 Yukon XL go hit in a parking lot. The rear passenger door was hit at the handle. It was like that for more than a year. I went down to a junk yard and bought a whole new door for $60. Yes, that's cheap but this is near Gulfport, MS. I swapped out the doors and the widow regulator didn't work. I took the regulator out of the old door and was all set to go. The chrome piece on the new door was damaged but a heat gun removed the piece off the old door. I purchased a few rattle cans that matched the paint and did a single clear coat. After taking it out of the shed, I could see it was sub standard. Next, I will be sanding and hitting it with two more clear coats. Then I'll polish. Good enough for a 20 year old vehicle.
Good video . That’s a 2 man job removing and installing the door , but u got her done. I gotta attempt this on my passenger door on my Tahoe and waaay cheaper to do it all myself.... 👍👌
you prolly dont give a damn but does someone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Milan Noah Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I’m not sure if your truck will have the harness for the auto doors or not. Worst case scenario you could probably swap the internals from your door to the new door. The only issue might be if it has a cut out for the manual handle. That’s a interesting one, I’m curious to know how that works out.
@@TheDailyDrift The doors on now are manual. Bought 2 used doors with elect. window, door locks & mirrors. Not going to be plug and plug as my doors only has one plug as the bought doors has 2 plugs.
See I just did this swap... easy but also a nightmare. Now my new passenger door window switch works , driver side switch won't work for the passenger window. Along with that the door won't lock or unlock via key fob or Panel switches. I re used my Sierra door skin .. other then that idk why it's like this... Aswell the speaker doesn't work on the door. Time to chase electrical .
Gonna have to take all my doors off on my GMC Canyon SLE 2007 when I paint my truck because wanna paint my truck myself. And would have to paint inside since it gonna be a lighter blue color and I ain't gonna pay a shop to paint my vehicle even though my first truck I had painted last year didn't come out well. But already have the paint 2k epoxy primer sealer, Arcylic urethane paint and clearcoat it might be 2k too. But don't matter how many times I make a mistake trying to paint my own vehicle before I get good enough at painting a vehicle I won't go to a shop to paint my vehicle I am gonna learn to do it plus I like painting and auto detailing anyway I want to do it for a job working for myself anyway I had lots of jobs over the years and in 40's now early 40's but won't to start working for myself soon.
7:11 is when he starts to take door off. You're welcome

Old video but I learned how not to put a door on. I winced hearing that door bottom scraping on the asphalt.

Thanks! Yeah its kind of a pain, but if you have a engine hoist its way easier. Good luck!
Info was good but I was annoyed to have to skip 10:00 or so in before you started wrenching. Trying to work, not be entertained. Lol
Thanks for the heads up
thank you

LOL, this is the video I was looking for. I guess I need to build a helping hand to hang a door on a Silverado...
Haha, I have definitely dropped a few doors before. Funer to watch. All in the technique, gotta use those knees.
Will 2005 Tahoe driver side door fit a 2003 Silverado front door ?
Lucky that door didn’t land on your foot... I have to do same thing on my truck.. after watching your video, I think I will do it myself. Thx
I know right! sometimes I get lucky haha. Yeah no problem, it's a pretty easy job. The engine hoist helps a lot if you are doing it alone.
Thanks man saved my day !
No problem 👍
Wish you would tell me where the door wires come unplugged forgot that part budd
I have a 2005 Silverado and I just bought a 2003 Tahoe passenger door will it fit.
Great video bro!! I wonder if the 2007 GMC Canyon door will fit the 2002 S10? Thanks
Uhh definitely not. You can tell just by looking at that. Not hard.
damn those muscles came in handy huh budddy lmfao @9:18
Way too long! But got what I thought I might need.
Thanks
Got a good understanding bout to replace a 2018 Chevy Silverado passenger side door wish me luck
Nice job and thanks for the video! That is a two person job and you did it on your own. Awesome!
how did u do the wiring?? we got an 03 door on a 99 Silverado but the clips are different like you had stated
Have a 2004 manual doors and bought 2 auto power windows w/locks doors complete. Will the wiring harness just plug and play?

Do you have to reprogram your key ?
Nope, I just installed the door and hooked up the harness.
What size rachet did you use
Yeah he missed one of the most important parts of info
Howd you fix the sag? Im about to do this on my avalanche
Door pin replacements the kits are cheap amd you get both sides
I need to do this on 2004 suburban. Great video. BTW. I know its been 5 yrs, but what place did you find the door. Im in SA also.
I went down to the pick and pull on the south side. They have a ton of these trucks.
Do you know what sizes are the screws on the door???
10 millimeter door bolts
You know if 2500 doors fit a 1500?
Yep them doors are definitely Heavy. What I did was sit it in a chair or a bench that’s somewhere around the height of the door.
Why wouldn’t you just unplug from the switches, feed it out then feed it into the new door and plug switches back in

Oh thanks a Starfucks commercial
This is a video of how NOT to put your door on👍🏻.
Is it the people right next to you?
No, it was hit when I was parked on the side of my house because I had the trailer attached to it. It's all good though, all is well that ends well!
