As soon as I heard "Great Pyr" I believed the plaintiff. They are SO, SO protective of their pack. And the 4 year old opened the door. The child. The one that all of his genetics tell him to protect.
Guardian dogs need skilled handling and training to be safe housepets. This is why. My friend has a Pyr she got from a sheep farm, the stories of what his mother did to protect her flock are truly impressive.

As a delivery person myself for 5 years with 10s of thousands of deliveries.
Most of the time, me just walking towards the door is enough for the dogs to hear us. Its like they have magical hearings. Sometimes being extra quiet doesn't help. They just somehow know.
Usually the good customer warned us ahead of time and said to just leave the items as they have a pet. Some on the other hand are completely careless. They wont contain their pet and more over open the door when were few steps away from their door and they pets would come out jumping on you. Luckily, I've never been bitten but always had a fear of happening.

Dogs can hear a sound 4 times further away than a human can, & they excel at differentiating sounds--it's how they know the sound of your car coming down the street vs the neighbor's car. They can also hear higher frequency sounds that humans cannot hear at all--like dog whistles.
Humans have 6 ear muscles. Dogs have 18. Cats can hear even better! Their ears have 30.
      It's really interesting stuff.

Oh geez a Great Pyrenees! Yep… those are big and very protective dogs.
Absolutely lovely and beautiful creatures, but it’s well known those are working livestock guardian dogs. In the mountains where they were bred, people put up signs warning people to remain/act very calm if they’ve wandered into their property and their dog tries to investigate them. If the dog thinks you’re a threat to it or it’s herd, it won’t hesitate! Best thing to do is to try to not seem intimidating and back away slowly, but that’s for a wide outdoor space. Someone’s house or front door does not allow for that at all.
I would actually hate for one of these dogs that is protective to think I was trying to harm it’s 4 year old pack member…

Does anyone know of any group therapy to stop listening to JJ vids? I’m addicted to watching accountability actually occurring ….

yes, let's just send children to foster homes and don't let relatives raise them🎉

Better than a foster home. That's quite judgmental.

He called a lawyer to attempt to receive a windfall over a bandaid injury. If gramps did the right thing and follow up with the young man to reimburse any medical costs, then we wouldn't be watching this case...

A "bandaid injury" from a dog bite almost killed me due to infection + tetanus + allergic reactions to lifesaving meds... you clearly have no idea what can happen in these cases.

Those things are MONSTROUS dogs. I can’t imagine having a 4 year old child in a house with one of those beasts, especially if the dog has bitten someone!

I own one and it’s the only breed I feel comfortable leaving my children around. They adore children. A few days ago my toddler fell in the backyard our dog stood beside her making sure she was okay. His a 90lb puppy and very gentle. My cat loves my puppy, they bath each other. Great Pyrenees are amazing dogs. They are very intelligent, gentle with children and live stock and will guard you with their life. Never go near a Great Pyrenees and his property that includes children.

Great Pyrs protect their territory. They are gentle giants, and make excellent hospital therapy dogs.

For judge judy to say that his lawyer said he didnt have a case because he didnt have injury is incorrect and her demeanor in this case towards the young guy is very dismissive. He has clear photos of his hand bleeding w puncture wound a great pyranese is easily 100 lbs .
