Kinsman Pond shelter (mi. 1819.3) to Cascade Brook near Lincoln, NH (mi. 1824.2) It was a rough first mile this morning. We had to come down a steep descent, and the water from the rain last night followed us down all the way making it quite slippery. Luckily the heavy rains didn’t come until later today. We met my good friend Bill and his wife Alicia and they drove us into Lincoln, NH and treated us all to breakfast 🙏 They also gave me an awesome resupply they’d put together for me, as well as bringing me a few things from home. It was nice to see and spend time with them! We then headed to a local brewery to hang out and wait for my other friend Spence to pick us up. So good to be back close to home 😂! He was amazingly generous as well, and put us all up in his condo for the night, as well as grilling us an awesome dinner. It’s really quite something to have such great friends!!! We watched the Olympics for a while, and had great conversation before turning in for the night. It looks like the storm is going to blow through fast, so we are going to try to get a few miles in after lunch tomorrow. We’ll play it by ear.
Today’s menu: A Natures Valley granola bar, 2 Snickers bars, 3 Naked drinks, a whiskey & ginger ale, a Cobb salad, a draft beer, some licorice, a side of broccoli, a sweet potato, grilled chicken, grilled steak, a McDonald’s big breakfast meal, a large vanilla milkshake, a 20 oz. Gatorade, and water.

Hey Sloggy, Candy Man Here, i’m glad you made it to the shelter thursday evening. I was rushing to make it to Crawford Notch. I was lucky, i got 2 hitch rides and the 2nd would not drop me other than directly to my car as the rain was coming. The Trail really Provides. Safe Hike and i am rooting for you guys
