My daughter who is not a stupid woman by any means, tell me I am paranoid because I keep ALL my doors locked when I am home day or night. She does not and when I tell her how foolish that is, she says "but Mom I live in a safe neighborhood". I tell her everyone thinks their neighborhhod is safe until something bad happens. Criminals will always seek opportunities to exploit the weak.

I live in a very nice area, & 5 houses down there was a break-in, & the robber even took their safe. I felt very vulnerable hearing this bc I was a victim 20ish yrs ago to a break-in, but worse. We're moving 5hrs away to a very small town, & I can't wait bc there are just too many ppl around here now. So many ppl have been moving here, & they just keep bldg more neighborhoods. More ppl, more crime. Not worth it! Til we move, I don't trust strangers!

I live in a very small village- only about a dozen houses. A man who moved in nearby used to pass our house every day walking his dog. We got talking, became quite friendly, and were surprised when he disappeared. We later found out he had been arrested charged and convicted of child molestation and rape - now serving 15 years in jail. You just cannot tell who you can trust - be cautious.

@@Trish.... I live in the county. There are regular break-ins. We have to lock our car to keep people from breaking into it. They aren't trying hard becuase there's always another car or house to go to if yours is too difficult, but there is no such thing as a safe area, any more. Always lock your doors and windows. Make sure you know who's around.

12 yrs ago I walked out of a restaurant, and a guy decided to follow me home. He knew where I lived & my car license.
It doesn't get any scarier then that.
I wasn't a young cute thing, nope just the average 40 something, dressed modesty.
Wake-up gals.... Patera's right. This country isn't safe thanks to the borders being opened.

I’ve been a victim of a violent rape by a stranger many years ago when I was in my 20’s. I was asked for a ride by a man in a parking lot and I told him “no” but he gave me a sob story and I stupidly let him in my car and drove him to his apartment. He asked me to go into the apartment to see his cat because I mention in the car that I had to get home to my cat. This guy never came across as evil and after a lot of persuasion, I went in to see his cat. I pet his cat for a few minutes and went to the door to leave and he grabbed me and threw me on the floor. I couldn’t get away. I was raped and he laid on top of me all night so I couldn’t get away as he prayed to every god I’ve heard of and some I haven’t. Daylight came and he got off of me and went to take a shower and had mentioned taking me into the mountains. I grabbed my clothes and purse he threw across the room and ran out half naked to my car and pulled away as he ran out after me wrapped in a towel. Needless to say, I prosecuted his behind and he only got 1 year in prison out of a possible 10 due to a plea bargain.😢
God saved my life in more ways than I can count and he saved me that day. I’m in my late 60’s now and I owe it all to God.
To the young people who subscribe to Patera’s channel, please heed her warnings. It’s not safe for anyone these days especially women. Don’t risk your life thinking it’s safe when it isn’t out in the world. I would never dream of walking or running in a park even if I was with a friend. I think we tend to feel somewhat invincible when we are young and can make unwise choices that can be costly. Listen to that small voice inside when you are being warned of danger because that voice is coming from God.🙏

I hope someone reads my post here. My Dad was law enforcement (Air Force AP, Federal Agent and Sheriff's Deputy) over a 50 year span of his life. I'm the only daughter and I have 3 brothers. I'm also the youngest. Dad taught me from about 4 years old how to defend myself. I am now 60 years old. Dad put me in self defense classes sponsored by the Police Department, he took me to the firing range and he taught me pressure points. I'm here to tell anyone who has any inkling of the violence in this world. Please take the advice, and don't let your pride kick you in the ass. Be vigilant, aware of your surroundings, and watch your six. Always be out with either a man or another woman who is vigilant. Me personally, I am tired of the high maintenance woman who walks around like no harm will come to them. In my Dad's words...."Don't be a victim." Stay frosty folks.

My Daddy made sure I could protect myself and sent me to Judo classes in the 1960's. Of course growing up in an area known for hunting, we learned how to respect and use firearms at an early age. Helping my son practice Karate added more skills. Plus, my Daddy taught my brother and me about Street Fighting. After having experienced Marital Abuse years ago, my BS Meter is non existent at the age of 69. I'm beginning to understand why there's no mention of the US in The Book of Revelation, because we're seeing the collapse of our Society, much like the Fall of Rome. 2nd Timothy 3:2 is unfolding as we watch.

A couple of years ago, I was walking from the parking lot to the grocery store. Two men came from behind and started walking, one on each side of me. They were speaking to each other in a foreign language. I began walking faster so I could get to the store entrance. When I reached the entrance, they backed off. This was in broad daylight. Yes, be aware of your surroundings constantly.

DON'T BE THERE!! Any woman who thinks she can overpower a man is delusional. Your reaction won't be quicker than their action. They've already sized you up and put their plan into action. Keep preaching it Patara!! Love you and your channel. Been watching since the beginning! ❤

My car was stolen while I went into the bank, something I did every Monday. The bank was in a mall so I usually did some shopping since I was out. This time I was in there exactly 3 minutes! The police recovered my totaled vehicles 3 weeks later. I was told to change my routine to different times, days and even locations where I banked. What would have happened if I had returned even sooner while they were in the process of stealing my car? What if ..............BTW I was 38 weeks pregnant and had my 3 year old with me!!!!

The world today is a much more dangerous place than it was back then! I don’t live in fear. I didn’t raise my children to live in fear. BUT, being cautious and not making yourself an easy victim or putting yourself in dangerous situations is SMART! Everyone thinks it can’t happen to them until it does. I have 4 Doberman dogs. However when riding my bike alone out on rural quiet backroads of east TN, I haven't been so cautious. It has always seemed safe. But recently while camping in a national forest with my husband, I decided to ride alone after my husband got called into work (he typically would ride with me). A man sitting in a car by the side of the road, suddenly seemed to be following me and thankfully I wasn't far from the campground and nothing happened but that really opened my eyes to how stupid it was to ride alone outside of the campground. And your message today has reinforced the fact that I need to be safer near home also. God bless you Patera! ❤

Hopefully, people out there are smart enough to take the advice. As you said, so far, Stephanie has been lucky, and again, as you said, one day that luck may run out, and when it does it will be too late. I do not live in fear, but I live wisely. I have always told my kids and their friends that I realize we are not immune to something bad happening but I can darn sure say it wasn't because I wasn't taking precautions because as we know even the most prepared people can have the worst situation present itself. Patara, you forgot to mention one thing: people can be targeted while they are driving. If someone gets on your back bumper and taps you like they're trying to bump draft, you need to take the f*ck off immediately. Do not pull over. Do not get out of your vehicle. This is the set-up for a carjacking.
Some other stuff that could save a life:
    >Train your kid to call out very specific phrases which will call attention to a danger situation, such as "you're not my mom or dad, get away from me" or "you're a pedophile, get away from me". A kid screaming willy-nilly gets ignored or told to shut up.
    >If you have to send your kid to school, avoid school uniforms at all costs UNLESS IT'S GENERIC, ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT ISSUE POLO SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS AND KHAKIS. Why? School uniforms scream money. A blazer with the school crest on the pocket is like putting a target on your kid's back.
    >If you are a female, do not start screaming "rape" if you are being attacked. Why? Because the first person to hear you may be someone like my father, who will ignore you because, according to him, rape doesn't exist and a female is always asking for it. For anyone who has read my posts on the topic of self-defense on this channel, the reason why I bring a physical, smash-mouth, nasty mentality to the table is because this is the kind of bullshit I had to listen to come out of the mouth of a father who would not think twice about selling you down the river for a ham sandwich.

I admire your straight up advice to us. If you don't tell it like you do, they won't understand at all what you're trying to say. I'm tired of sugar-coating the truth. Say it dear one. We want it straight...not watered down. God bless you and your family.

Patara, We must recognize that those who are unwilling to or unable to see reality, will be the most dangerous during hard times.
These are the people who will betray their neighbors, family and friends In Order to save them selves and justify it as survival.
I refuse to burden myself trying to providing them wisdom they don’t want!!

Well get me a coloring book and a puppy!😂
Spot on lady! I am always watching people whenever I go out, demeanor, dress, physical and verbal awareness. Walk with confidence, head up and scan.

Being a victim is horrible. Listen to Patara. She cares enough to tell you how it is. Thanks for this video ❤

For years I have carried a larger wallet instead of a purse. I would put it in the shopping cart and then go shop. I've known my wallet is very susceptible to theft, and boy would that create problems I don't want. Well, last week I got a small wallet I can carry in my pocket. All I need is my DL, couple of cards, and cash.......it is very freeing to shop without too much worry.....

At some point in time, everyone is going to be a victim of crime. She's playing a dangerous game that could cost her, her life. A woman out alone is begging to be a victim. I don't go anywhere alone, and I have situational awareness at all times. I don't live in fear, I live by being smart about what I do.

I'm seeing this 3days later, but Lord it put a smile on my face an hour after getting up. Common sense, sister in spirit. All this goes through my mind every day about other folks. Keep doing what you're doing. It's beautiful.

AMEN!! Thank you for all you said here! This needed to be said to especially women who think they couldn't possibly be a victim. We live in a different world than anything we've lived in before!
