Great video. Bought the inexpensive RIA 1911 from Buds last year, fired it for the first time a couple days ago. No jams, no malfunctions, and it was surprisingly more accurate than all my other guns I brought to the range... 👍video.

RIA have a great following. I will find one used and run it against a Colt or Kimber and see, bet there is little difference hitting the steel. UGD

A lot of people use this as a range only gun, but if you wanna run HPs for self-defense, you totally can. Ran HSTs, V-Crowns, Interceptors, Gold Dots, and PDX1s in mine with no problems. Unlike the old A1s, AO has the barrel throated.

Thanks man, you answered my question. This will be my first 1911 and I was wondering about running hollow points in it.

I've always admired 1911s since I was a kid when my Uncle showed me his from ww2. After he passed away we found out that .45 was given to him by a fighter pilot that my Uncle saved from drowning when he was shot down in the Pacific. He kept the whole story to himself. You never know the story those old 1911s could tell.

I carried one as an MP in the Army for most of 1980-89, Security Site only certain positions had Pistols as they were not needed/useless for the Job. 1985 oh were getting the Beretta M9’s, only saw USAF SP’s carry them as we never got them in Europe as a whole until I got out!

That is a beauty. Really with 45 you don't hollowpoints. I could get along with those sights. You can send it to me.

i have 3 1911's...my favorite is the Auto Odance one..basicaly because it captures the esscence of the original GI issue 1911. Another plus is that i shoot off hand at 50 yrds at watered filled 8 oz water filled plastic bottles...and the ole AO 1911 is right on even with my re-loads..

Had a little fun with my buddy the Bucket. Handed him an STI 1911 and at 50 yards he was hitting steal. He can't do that with HK or Glock. 1911s will be around another 100 years. UGD

Firstly, thanks for the video. Now if you ever decide to use JHP's in that gun and you don't want to experiment with a lot of offerings, testing to see if it will feed them reliably, then try Remington Golden Saber's. 9 out of 10 times Golden Saber's will feed in difficult 1911's. Who knows? One day you may want to actually use that 1911 defensively (why I don't know but some people are so inclined) and not want over penetration but excellent expansion coupled with optimal penetration. With respect to Kimber Tac-Pro mags, I've never had a single issue with fitment or feed using them in any 1911 that I own. I can't say that about other brands. Some 1911 mags work in some of my 1911's and others don't. It SUCKS. The Kimber Tac-Pro's work in them all however. Just my experience thus far.

Just like a rim fire. You run the risk of damaging the firing pin and internal parts. Some say it's ok. Bill Wilson says not too. It's better not too just in case

@@johntaylor1310 Bunk. Dryfire 1911s all you want. I'd love to see where Bill Wilson says to not dryfire a 1911, because I can tell you all his Wilson Combat sponsored shooters dryfire their 1911s.... a lot. Are you confusing this with don't drop the slide on an empty chamber for a 1911?
