@@Michelle-vr9zl imagine if she did win, then surely people would have looked at her and her evidence and would think that even unbelievable accusations can be accepted. That would undermine the genuine claims by women . So this case as hard as it was expected to be to win, has indeed look at the facts and vindicated an innocent (abused) man. This case recognised truth and the judgement was made on the merits of the case not the pressures that are part of society as a whole.

@ what? I think survivors feel they can say something because they relate to this case, and they really relate to what Depp went through and not what Heard claims. Also, seems there is a lot of resentment to them being used by Heard for her own benefit. Just so you feel better, I am commenting even though I have not suffered DV, but it's not hard to have an understanding of how awful that is.

Domestic violence isn't gender specific. This case showed the world how utterly conniving and manipulative the abuser in a domestic relationship can be. Gaslighting is real, psychological abuse is real, emotional abuse is real, and Amber is guilty of them all. What's even worse is that now Elaine has taken a few pages out of Amber's gaslighting guidebook. Shame on her minimising the judicial system, shame on her for mocking the jury, shame on her for playing the me too card. She shot herself in the foot taking this case on, she's effectively ended her own career and is now fishing for fame. Bravo Mr Chew 🙏 a true lawyer, a true gentleman.

Every time this man chokes up with emotion, I find myself bursting into tears, and I don't find it easy to cry very often. The respect and admiration he has for Johnny as a client and as a friend is so moving that it's impossible not to tear up. It was the same with Camille, too, especially in closing, the emotions that standing up for this man and helping him get the truth out there coming through was so tangible it was felt all around the world.
I'm a survivor, and I certainly do not think that anyone is going to be held back by the result of this trial. Johnny Depp was a victim of abuse, and he finally managed to bring the truth out, to find a voice and be heard, and he won. How is an abuse survivor winning going to set anyone back? If anything it brings hope to those who've never had a voice before, whether it's men or women (or anyone between), children, or people who've survived childhood abuse and never been heard. It's offensive that she lied under oath, repeatedly, about things that should never be lied about, and it's even more offensive now that she's been seen by the world for what she is to use us as a weapon to continue her lies.
She said Johnny wouldn't let her move on, but like everything else she's proven her own lies by refusing to quietly let him move on. As much as I respect that Johnny might be willing to let the damages go, I kind of hope he doesn't, because if you're going to lie about something so serious and do so again and again, changing the story, moving the posts, taking it too far to the point where someone's life is almost destroyed, then it sends a message that you can't get away with it, that in the end eventually those lies catch up with you. Someone needs to make her see the damage that she's caused before anyone else has to get hurt.
Ben Chew and the whole team were amazing and such a pleasure to watch in action, and I loved most how they were a reflection of who Johnny is with their whole way of going about everything, not playing dirty, keeping it civil, and I'm glad their hard work paid off in the end.

I'm sorry but does that other guy even know what he's talking about? Amber wasn't the defendant in the UK. She was a witness. How can they appeal based on a case she wasn't a party in? Elaine was extremely unprofessional with the statements she made. Ben and Camille have class they didn't say anything rude in their interviews. The only person using PR stunts and manipulation is Amber and her legal team. That's what Amber does, she accuses others of things she's done herself.

What an amazing supportive legal team 🥰 I’m so glad that Johnny had such wonderful, supportive lawyers by his side who you can tell are super supportive of him and so happy for him and the outcome 💗 It melts my heart to know that Johnny was able to finally feel such a heaviness lift from his shoulders that he should never have had to bear after all these years and that he smiled with such pure joy as he deserves 💗
I also strongly agree with the message that victims of domestic violence and other forms of assault or abuse is NOT sex/gender specific. The fact that the Heard team and supporters keep wanting to make it that way is really disheartening. What Amber Heard did - claiming falsehoods of abuse by Johnny Depp, is disgusting and harmful for victims. I personally see Johnny’s win as a GREAT step forward in making people realise that abuse has no sex/gender and his win, I’m sure, will help give courage to many victims to come forward who otherwise may have felt they would not be believed.

If anyone has any doubts as to Amber’s true mental stability or Johnny’s version of the truth… I suggest they actually listen to the entire audios recorded by Amber and/or Johnny. (The audio that wasn’t played in entirety for the court.) I pray that someone actually gets Amber some help. After listening to the audios, I feel that she is everything that she accused JD of being. I honestly hope that he files a TPO against her. I’m concerned not only for his safety but for anyone who is involved with her. I’m a survivor of SA/DV and I believe in Johnny’s innocence.(Not because he is a star) I hear my abuser, not in Johnny, I hear it in Amber. 🤦‍♀️ as professionals, how can you in good conscience misrepresent the facts? The litigation in the UK was against a publication, not Amber. What the verdict said was with the information given to the Sun they were not defamatory BECAUSE the information they had from one party, Amber, they could conclude she was telling the truth.
It did not take into account any of the evidence that Johnny Depp had because that was not the question. The question was, were the statements made by the Sun defamatory by the evidence they had at the time of the article.
The suite was not against Amber.
We got to see the evidence in its competeness during this trial, that was not the case in the UK case.
If you are going to report on this, do so with the facts.

Abusers, blame and gaslight the abused
This case may help the abused realize they don't have to be "perfect". As in Depp's substance abuse, and when they do express their anger.
