Awesome video! Thank you so much for posting it. It was extremely helpful for me. I had to replace the same part on our 2017 X5. I was intimidated at first, but after watching your video, I had way more confidence to tackle the job. It took me a little over 30 minutes to finish the job. Thanks again!
Super helpful video! Thanks. We didn't pull the rubber trim - you don't have to, but it is a bit harder to install the new part while lifting the rubber out of the way with a trim tool. We just didn't have any glue/sealant to reattach the rubber trim, so we went that route. Also, no need to remove the little square covers - they are a pain to remove and don't provide any necessary access. Much easier to transfer them over to the new part along with the metal screw holder clip once the old part is removed. The problem we had with the old part is that the plastic clips that hold the springs broke and one hinge area broke too. We do load a lot in and out, but I think the plastic just became brittle with age. I had temporarily used some screws to hold the springs in place until we got this part. That worked well. :)
i know im asking randomly but does anyone know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I love any assistance you can offer me
@Cyrus Samir I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thank you for the update. I too have a certified BMW 35d X5 2014 so I like to see your new projects and upgrades. Thank you for posting X5 RUclips’s. I just added a tow hitch with the electical module that I wish I would have seen in RUclipss but I didn’t see any.

Ours broke - the little spring parts that make it stay put. Old age, bad plastic.
