I don’t think the Pakistanis who live in the country are patriotic. I think that’s the reason why we haven’t seen backlash from the public at all against the theft of their mandate and the injustice meted out to Khan repeatedly. I think patriotism is the real problem here and people are just not perturbed by the future of the country. They are more concerned with their vested interests and just making a living by whatever means even if it’s illegal.

Pinned, for discussion! I think it’s due to several factors. One being “Fear” fear of consequences, over the past two years regime has repeatedly cracked down upon people to reinforce fear. Second, lack of mind development and consciousness, the military nature of Pakistani society since 1958, wars with India, traumatic nature of Partition, loss of Kashmir, state narratives about India and Hindus, wars of 1965 and 1971, fall of Dacca and later twenty years of internal conflict and terrorism, all explained to Pakistanis from a “soldier mind set” has not allowed collective consciousness to develop, you clearly see this mental underdevelopment in civil and military officers, in powerful state functionaries, police officers and media, lawyers etc - they just don’t have the tools to understand what’s happening! Examine the ridicule and contempt they have carved around Imran Khan, how they are unable to accept that while Khan may not be a saint or genius he stands head and shoulder above the usual lot of Pakistani politicians- but even the best of Pakistani newspapers like Dawn, in Editorials keep on referring to him as one of the politicians like Nawaz and Zardari; I will discuss this phenomenon in a Vlog - if many people took interest in this issue- looking forward to read your comments! There is no sense of nationhood among the people and rightly so because Pakistan was made out of loosely jointed federated areas. Add to the fact the total degeneration of moral values of society. Patriotism derives its strength from upholding shared values which we have none. All thanks to the mighty military.

Imran Khan's greatest contribution has been to lift the veil over the fact that it is the incompetent, egotistical, army generals who have always been pulling the strings of the politicians and are responsible for the disaster that is now Pakistan. I concur with your logic. The story of the fake peer resonates perfectly with SCIFC, NS, SS, Zardari, and Asim Munir. They all are busy sinking the ship-in this case, Pakistan. KPK and Kashmir have awakened; it is time for Punjab to either rise and save the country or witness its downfall in their lifetime.

A minor worker like me, living in Europe, have no desire to do some investment in Pakistan, then how can big businessmen do take that risk?
I prefer to keep my savings in Euro or else in GBP than in PKR.
The issue here because of system and because of non serious behaviour of authorities, is uncertainty!
For example, I purchase a plot of 10 million PKR, I have no assurity that it will be mine for next 2 years and it will not be taken over by mafias!
I being a European, will never ever invest in Pakistan.

انسان کے دنیا میں آتے ہی روز اول سے اسکی پرابلم یہ ھے کہ وہ سب کچھ جانتے بوجھتے ھوئے بھی کہ اسکے بنانے والے نے اسکی تقدیر پہلے ہی بنادی تھی پھر اسکو وجود بخشا ھے۔ مگر وہ اس پر ھمیشہ سے لڑتا جھگڑتا چلا آرھا ھے کہ میں تقدیر کے بجائے اپنی خواہش کے ذریعے اسکو حاصل کرکے سکون حاصل کرونگا۔ آج روئے زمین پر یہ جو کچھ جہاں جہاں بھی ھورھا ھے وہ صرف اپنے نفس کی تسکین کیلئے ہی کیا جا رھا ھے، جہاں اربوں کی تعداد میں لوگ اللہ کو چھوڑ چھاڑ (یعنی گرانٹ کی گئی تقدیر) کے برخلاف اپنی ہر ضرورت یا مدد صرف اس سے لینا چاہتے ہیں جو انکے دلوں کو لبھاتا ھے۔
لہذا ایسے لوگوں کیلئے دعا کریں جو راہ راست پر آسکتے ھوں۔ آپکی دعائیں انکو کبھی بھی راہ راست پرنہیں لاسکتیں۔
جن کے لیئے اللہ نے خود فرمایا کہ یہ تو جانوروں کی طرح ہیں بلکہ ان سے بھی گئے گزرے ہیں۔ جو اپنے بنائے ھوئے معبودوں کی پارٹنرشپ میں مجھے بھی شامل کرکے زبردست فراڈ کرکے کھلم کھلا (شرک) کر رہیے ہیں

Dr moeed it was i think this episode was in 1984 . . There was a party of people who drowned in Arabian sea around hawk Bay. I remembered I was not in Pakistan in 1994 . May this was another story.

In 1971 many companies were taken over by the then government. BECO steel and iron company was one of them. It is a living example that never till today anyone invested in Steel and Iron industry. You are 100 percent correct regarding new investments.
I stopped investing in Pakistan for almost last 2 years and regret investing in this country. InshaAllah, I will never invest in this country for the rest of my life and this is what I am also teaching to my children.

Dr. Sb, I am myself an entrepreneur running my business is a Middle Eastern country. When this so called SIFC was created, I not only spoke to my friend circle but also written at various occasions. My simple question was give me one reason, why I should invest in Pakistan? What special facilitation this SIFC can give to a foreign investor?
