Gee love the modulated delay at the 2:40mark...pretty darn good and I agree this pedal is worth it just for the delay/reverbs alone...i have seen several guitarists use an M9 in thier rig (in front of 1000's of people) just for the delays and modulation effects.
Great video. I just bought one in part based on your review. I was looking for something very much like this anyway but your demo helped me seal the deal hearing some of the effects. That delay with mod sounds amazing.
It's like a Line 6 DL4, but smaller! :-D All settings and type of delays are really identical to the DL4... Makes me think about to add both together in my pedal board, and to use all modulations of course...
Just to warn everyone. So many people on the internet have said this thing will break. The pedal doesn't break but the pedal has a grounding issue. So just sand paper the paint around the screws and you should be fine.
Nice jack of all trades pedal and a good option for a budget delay pedal. I’ve got good delay pedals already but for someone looking to get into playing with some effects..yeah .why not ! One of the warmest delay pedals I had was a Caline Blue Ocean and it was super cheap..
Thank you. This is the best review of this pedal I've seen. BUT I would like to hear the pedal by itself thru one amp to see what it sounds like. Your tone is really great thru those stereo amps and Analogman King of Tone, but not a good review of the way the pedal sounds alone,
shnobel hey question what's your thoughts on this unit? Was thinking about getting this for its delays... Am starting out and. Am gonna be getting a pedal board and was thinking about putting this in my board and other question what do you think about the line 6 hd500x? And could you demo it if you can get hold of it??
@Stephen Whitney I have the M13 version of this pedal and it is IMHO, far superior to the HD. my only suggestion is that although these line 6 stomp boxes have distortion, it comes off a bit lacking at times. Grab yourself a good overdrive, (doesn't have to be too expensive), to run with it when needed, and you will be set. I could not be happier. It's some great kit and sounds wonderful live.
I tried one of these through a Carvin Legacy amp on clean with a EHX English Muffin in front. I was happy to see it had a noise gate. I just used the noise gate and the delay to test out the EHX English Muffin. I am curious how many fx can you use. I would want noise gate, delay and reverb the most.
For detune jazz tone to 2 amp - add a stereo chorus pedal before a M5 set stereo delay. But the delay time is only over 20 ms - what a pity - who knows if there will ever be an upgrade to go down to 1 ms.
great video n' great pedal. but got a doubt ...are there Subdivisions no the delay section ?? I mean Delay Dotted Eighth , Quarter Note , triplet etc.. I'll appreciate someone reply me. t-you =)
Perfect for my small pedalboard. My Boss ES-5 has only 5 loops and 2 MIDI. This will open up worlds of tone and I can leave out my crappy Mooer reverb. Two amps, stereo, awesome.
Hi, I can't find the way to toggle the delay settings as you do, in my M5 there is no options to select dotted or quarter delay, just the knobs for each channel speed even if a plug it in stereo. Thanks
The dotted and quarter delay are the last selections of the delays, you have to turn the knob all the clockwise (if not then try turning the knob all the way counter-clockwise then all the way clockwise, you will see the note settings there.
Still using it! With MIDI switcher its like secret weapon in my pedalboard.

Wow those are some heavenly delays. And easy to tweak. Thanks for the demo.

Such a great unit. Love the m-series.
cosmogang yes they ere great units, underrated

does it work.. it´s driving me crazy!!
take top 2 screws off from the back, leave the bottom screws in. i hated mine now it has a permanent place on my board, love it!!!
Please explain. This thing would end onto my Tone Trunk pedalboard, with Dual Lock tape. Do I have to remove two screws to "keep it safe"?
@@faysalmahmud2232 where do you use the sandpaper?

Yours sounds better than mine! This is a great pedal, I have two...
I'm sold! For my home practice rig this is perfect! Blackstar HT1R & This.
The Delay effects I use to get something close to Hank Marvin’s Shadows tone are the Tape Echo, Multhead and Echo Platter.
thanks for sharing Demo Nice Delay tone i love this pedal

James bond shreds guitar! Cheers my friend! Nice video.
Love your demos, they are extremely helpful. I would love to see this compared with the DL-4.
Matt Modlin Thanks, i dont own both pedals, i would have to borrow them to compare them

inveigle oh OK maybe I'll try the m13 out than
The m5 basically has all the "4" series effects in it but the m5 doesn't have the looper that the DL-4 has. You have to get the m9 to have a looper.
REally great video. Thanks so much, made my decision for me.
Wow this delay is powerful
great tones! thanks!
Twin cleans, so good
Sounds wonderfull!!! One question: this patterns are without any other effect? Thank you
A great pedal, delays are very good...
At 12:25 analog modulation was my favorite.
Line6 really gets delay right.
I keep wanting to buy another pedal, but then I remember I have an M9, and it just keeps coming through...
Great video, thanks a lot!
man sounds great for $100 or so with f/x and midi wow!! hmm, could buy 6 of these for price of eventide h9 lol

One at a time
that first delay setting sounds a lot like the edge, this is exactly what i was looking for
Cole Boerst Well I still havent found what im looking for, cheezy pun haha sorry
This is my swiss knife. 😁
Does the delay always spill when you turn the delay off?

He says it at the start of the video there’s a subdivision knob. Top middle knob
@@Gumbo72203 thanks a lot for ur reply
hi! great channel! really helpfull! a question, does this delay support dotted note adjusment by tweaking buttons?
i believe so
@shnobel always good..
Can you use, lets say for example, delay, chorus and distorcion in the same bank at the same time?
No
5:40 what song is that? Or is it just a f***ing awesome doodling?
Any number of 7,936 post-rock songs there are haha. Jakob, Caspian, Paint the Sky Red, Ranges, Pray for Sound, This Will Destroy You, etc etc

Matt Gilbert hi matt did you manage to control the m5 with your boss via midi ?
@@deeslerd
Lol no I never figured out MIDI and sold the ES-5
does it oscillate?
How many pedals can be run together? Is capable of run two delays in series? Thanks
On m5 can only run one effect, on m9 can run 3 effects. On m13 can run 4 at once

hey, this pedal has a NOISE GATE (on advanced settings) Question is, if the effect is OFF (Bypassed) the NOISE GATE remains ON?
is this the same with line 6 m5 distortion / reverb etc?
Does the effect spillover when you change presets?
Hello. Will the delay continue to spill even if you turn off the effects?
Reynald Guibone
Yes. Out of the box, yes but you can change that if you want.
2:41 beautiful!
I want this pedal!!!
Can we edit effects and save it?
Great demo, but only mistake he made was at the beginning, turning the bass down. Too thin and trebly.
