Just love how hes comfortable in the pocket and can scramble. His decision making for a rookie has been great against Jets and Commanders. But he will be a great qb to sit behind Watson for 3 years. If Watson doesnt get us a SB or to a SB in 3 years, they will give the keys to this young man.
@@mrh3894 because he was playing against 2nd and 3rd string players. We haven’t even seen him play enough yet. Watson is a top 5 QB in the league when he is at the top of his game. Watson is a 3 time pro bowler.
@mrh3894 and we paid Watson. Very silly to start a rookie when we have a pro bowl qb. The kid cam learn. There's no rush. Alex Smith/Mahomes type scenario. DTR looks great.
Did you see him at 0:55 , 1:08 , 2:01 , 2:52 , and 3:00 , the last one where the safety crept up to the LOS as the ball was snapped, and DTR threw the ball in his vacated spot to Bell for a TD?
@@robjohnston366 Ok, but where does the term "one read passer" come from? Isn't this how football works. You throw to where the blitz came from. This sounds like how any QB of any archetype should proceed. I just don't understand the term. OR are you saying he doesn't have the situational awareness, ability, intelligence, instincts to look past the first read? It is just a lazy phrase that people use for some QBs and not others. Without any actual reason.
@@shankdiddy9045 I was addressing the OP, not you. I gave four examples of DTR going through a progression and throwing to his secondary or possibly tertiary receiver. In one of them he was looking to the RB out of the backfield, and saw the LB tightly covering him, so he went to a receiver a few yards farther downfield. The last one was the safety blitzing, and his reading it along with the receiver.
Looks better than the top QBs picked before him…too bad he won’t get a chance to start right away w/Watson there…he needs to be traded to a team that will allow him to compete for a starting job.
@@johndoe-ty1dr just like I know my name. @ this point in both of their careers, Watson by default is better. Why ask a goof question like that?. 🤦🏾♂️ Why tf am I responding to yall

I expect Deshaun to at least be GOOD for the next 3 years. Hopefully, the organization doesn't trade DTR within that time span. Let Deshaun walk at the end of his contract even if he's been spectacular -- or trade him. Let DTR takeover. He looks good, and I'd assume he'll only get better if he sits for 2-3 years.
The Quarterback evaluation process is built on a lot of confirmation bias and imagery of what a quarterback is suppose to look like. INSTEAD of purely going off film and a forensic break down of the common skill sets needed to excel at playing the position. I ranked DTR 3rd in this draft class.. Young > Stroud > DTR > Hendor Hooker > AR5 > Jake HAENER > Bennett ... because ignoring hype and purely looking at their ability to feel pressure not look at it and slide with eyes down field coupled with the ability to throw people open caused me to rank them differently. I felt DTR was a first round talent. ... but he doesn't have the imagery. Black QB with tattoos and braids with no ideal height weight measurables speed and arm strength good but not "great"... he falls into a 5th ... But teams like the Saints, Patriots, Raiders, Steelers, Tampa, Washington, he would have pushed himself on the field and been good early.... teams like the Giants, Vikings, Lions, Cardinals, Falcons, Broncos... he would have pushed their starters off the field imho.. a lot better than 5th round. But the NFL is a league that can't get past imagery ... and he isn't a overwhelmingly talented player just good... with flaws... But even with those weaknesses If he gets on the field he you won't be able to take him out of the line up... i would trade him if he builds any more hype if i was the Browns and recoup some round 1 assets.
QB steal of the draft. Could be an NFL starter down-the-road if the situation presents itself. I feel the same with Stetson Bennett too. Good chance he's the heir to Stafford. I get 1. Young 2. Stroud 3. Richardson at the top..but it was debatable after with them 2, Hooker, Levis imo
Let him sit behind DW. Let him learn. Then when Watson leaves or gets hurt. You have this guy. Personally wouldn't mind seeing him play now

Both DTR and Forristall playing with confidence ... and it shows 👍

He looks so Natural!
Imagine not overpaying for a qb and having this guy on a rookie contract to pay other players
DTR looks like a seasoned vet out there
Awesome backup!! He keeps playing like this, he maybe a starter in the future for some team.

DTR might be takin a job if shit don’t go as planned

His throwing motion seems to be more of a wrist flick. I wonder if he played baseball?
It looks like an overhand motion. It’s a little awkward but ball is accurate and smooth.
