    Why do people who liked romance get blamed? This was one of the main storylines of the first season, and now people are being shamed for liking this script?

    I really wish you had pushed back a bit on her answer where she says the romance was a cool theory but not something they truly followed. Season 1 was absolutely framed as a romance, and several characters in S2 also comment on it (Mobius, Brad, He Who Remains). They kissed, for goodness' sake!
    Her answer does not line up with what we know to be true and what other people--including Sophia herself--have said in interviews. Maybe she misspoke and only meant in Season 2?

    Romance theory? They literally kissed in Season 1. Loki season 1 was pitched as a love story. 😭😭 Soph no 💔

      It WAS a love story. In every interview in S1, the 'Assembled' episode described in detail how the love story was pitched and created. I know it was divisive among fans but it was a very loved story. It's why the series was successful. To those not chronically online it was a beautiful story. It doesn't matter that they are variants of each other. They aren't related or anything. Most fans understand how the multiverse works!
      The whole series is based on identity and reckoning with your past and coming to love and forgive yourself and redefine your destiny. Sylvie being a variant of Loki acts like a mirror. She reflects Loki's qualities both good and bad, as well as challenging him to be better, to be different. Because if Sylvie (as a Loki) can do it, so can he! Loki has always thought he was destined for one future, one glorious purpose, to be King. But through the TVA and Mobius he discovers it's meaningless and only ends in death. But then he meets Sylvie. Who defies the order of the universe, defies the timelines and breaks free of her destiny, choosing to form her own path. And she isn't just anyone, she's a Loki, like him. She shows him it's possible to change your destiny. It's possible for even 'Lokis' to be something different than what the sacred timeline demands. Not the 'loser' whose only purpose is to make others achieve greatness, but the hero. She shocks him because she isn't looking for power and control. She doesn't want to take over the TVA, like he would. She wants to take it down! She wants freedom. She shows Loki how important it is to fight for free will, and he's in awe of her. Together they both learn to grow and change. They challenge each other's ideas about the universe and learn to care for each other.
      Two characters who have never cared about anyone but themselves suddenly learning new emotional skills and learning each to love and care for the other. Particularly for Loki, it's a profound lesson and central to the theme of the show. It's one of my favourite relationships in the MCU. Sorry to rant, but this has genuinely gutted me. It's such a beautiful story and a twist on fictional romance and I hate that they backed off it in Season 2. Seemingly because of some negativity online. The general audience loved them together! 💔😭

      The only people who said it was a romance were herron and waldron - two people removed from s2, oh I wonder why

    • @SophyVlogs
      @SophyVlogs Месяц назад +12

      @@Kerendiker222 and Tom Hiddleston and Kevin Wright called it "a giant romance", he worked on S2 too. Eric Martin who wrote S2 wrote some of the most romantic episodes/scenes in S1. And they weren't "removed" Waldron was still EP on S2 and Kate went onto other projects. Don't try to gaslight into saying it was never romantic. It was, they backed off probably because of the hate and death threats they were getting online. Sophia got sent death threats whilst pregnant with her second baby. I'm not surprised she's backing off the romance when the fans are that toxic.

      I mean, it was never going to work out between the two. They had different goals. Sylvie only cared about building a life for herself and getting her revenge on Kang, and Loki learned to be selfless and wants to protect everyone.

    Oh my..why did she say that..couldn't she just let it open at this moment. If it never was supposed to be romantic, why talk about love so much in season 1 and why the kiss. I'm not into some "shipping war" and I don't blame anyone for not liking the ship, but Sophia kind of "mocking" the idea, the concept now after everything that happened..it just hurts 💔

    All the comments complaining about the fact that is wasn’t a romance. Like, we got such a kick ass character in Sylvie (we literally not only got a Loki series, but we now have 2 variants of Loki that we all love) and some people can’t see beyond a friggin romance. Sylvie is so much more than that.

  • @ZyliceLiddell
    @ZyliceLiddell Месяц назад +4

    Why is the only thing that ‘Loki show’ fans care about is the shipping? I wanted a Norse god adventure! Not a ship-war fest about who Loki gets to be with! If he got to go on an adventure and made a relationship on the way, it could have been great! Not walking, sitting and talking about nonsense and only using a speckle of magic here and there and having the character that it’s supposed to be act nothing like he usually does whether he’s supposed to be more ‘heroic’ or not!
