Against the Electro Unicorn from the previous abyss 12, my Furina still had low talent levels, which made it seem like the improvement she brings to Xiao's teams is very small. However, against ASIMON and Jadeplume Terrorshroom, her talents were already 1-9-9 and that's why she did so much better.
I was actually surprised i could use Xiao in 4.2 abyss top side! And it was a very comfy and seemless exp for me! Used faruzan furina and barb lmaooo

By being Anemo and not messing up most reactions, Xiao fits into more weird teams than people think. I've been using him on both sides of every abyss 12 since 3.7, and because of elemental shields, I've tried all sorts of weird Xiao teams. Freeze, Double Hydro, Hyperbloom, Aggravate, even Burning (there's a playlist on the channel).
The teams with Dendro were terrible, but Freeze was much better than I expected.

I was on the fence about getting him since he's getting a rerun in 4.4 but honestly, yeah I'm gonna use my guaranteed for him I have a PJWS and spare Homa for him and C6 Faruzan as well.
Xiao doesn't have great F2P weapon options, so 5-star weapons are more important to him than most DPS. Faruzan's C6 also means you don't have to worry about energy issues and knockback on enemies.
Since you have these two things, you have Xiao's main weaknesses covered, truly making him a much more valuable pull.

Okay... I've wanted to like Xiao for a long time... and this video inspired me to try again. He's so cool, but I can never make him do all that much damage. I have all the characters in this video at level 90, level 8/8/8 talents, okay +20 artefacts, and level 90 4* or 5* weapons and I just cannot seem to punch all that hard. Please teach me.
As soon as I finish my video about Xianyun, I will start making a very detailed Xiao guide. It will probably take a while to come out, but for good reasons.
Most guides only talk about which weapons and artifacts to use, but that's just the tip of the iceberg for Xiao. I want to talk about collision damage, animation cancels, when to use high plunge vs low plunge, and some other things about Xiao's gameplay that not everyone is familiar with but can greatly improve his performance.

Me too! I was waiting for a character that would fit perfectly into the 4th slot of Xiao's teams, but there weren't any as good as Furina is now.
I've tried everything. Freeze Xiao, Double Hydro Xiao, even Hyperbloom Xiao, but nothing was as satisfying to me as this team is.
This is nice. Haven't try my Xiao with Furina and since he'll have his rerun, gonna use him with Furina next abyss cycle. Question, what artifact set should I use on Faruzan? She's still on Exile set even now that I got her to c6 and I don't know which set to switch to.
At C6, as her Burst triggers Pressurized Collapses (considered skill dmg), Faruzan's best set becomes Tenacity of the Millelith.

For those who want to use a Wanderer team and a Xiao team in the same abyss, I would recommend getting Xianyun in 4.4. She will be an amazing support for Xiao.
Not as good as C6 Faruzan, but good enough to put Faruzan with Wanderer without making Xiao's team weak.

The benefit of furina is that his ceiling has been increased once again, c1 furina would already be an amazing jump, c2 also adds a lot, so im happy she buffs xiao the way she does (btw souldnt you use atk goblet in the furina xiao faruzan jean team?)
Yes, his team's ceiling is much higher now, as investment in Furina's own damage is also considered. Not to mention, of course, her broken constellations.
About the goblet: in this Furina+Jean team, Anemo and Atk goblet are so similar that it's better to use whichever one has better substats (a damage optimizer can help you if you don't know which of your goblets is the best)
You can also put cloud retainer for more better synergy
I'm sooo hyped to see what Cloud Retainer's kit will be like. When the first leaks about her being a healer and plunge support came out, I found it hard to believe that Xiao, an old character, would receive such a buff. But we're already close to seeing her final kit on the beta server, and recent rumors continue to indicate that she will be Xiao's new premium support.

I spent about a year farming the Vermillion set. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, as a whole year is overkill, but I don't regret it.
Having a super invested build for a Hypercarry like Xiao is very convenient. When the abyss lineup favors a specific character that you don't have, you can clear it with brute force and big numbers.
My c0 xiao does around 120k casual, im waiting for cloud retainer now, expecting 170k plunges
If you're already dealing 120k, 170k with Cloud Retainer will be fairly easy. The bird lady will be broken with Xiao!

Before Fontaine, Xiao teams had no vertical investment options other than going for his own C6. But now we have Furina's broken C1+C2 and Cloud Retainer's insane C2 + great weapon.
Xiao's ceiling is astronomically higher now.

It is possible to make a Freeze Xiao team and it's the best unconventional Xiao team I've ever tried (I have a video using Freeze Xiao in 3.8 abyss 12). But I wouldn't recommend using Hydro Traveler, as the off-field Hydro application is terrible. Also, crowd control is extremely important on Freeze teams, so I would only recommend Faruzan if you have her C6.
In general, my Freeze Xiao team recommendations are, in order:
1- Xiao + Furina + Charlotte + C6 Faruzan
2- Xiao + Ganyu + Kokomi + Kazuha (Off-field Burst DPS Ganyu)
3- Xiao + Xingqiu + Rosaria/Charlotte + Sucrose (weaker but more F2P friendly)
You can also mix and match these units as you like.

@@_1ro_ This team would work, but I would recommend Sucrose over Kazuha. She can use Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers to buff Xiao, while Kazuha's elemental dmg buff isn't that useful on this team since he can't buff Anemo Dmg.
Kazuha would be better on teams with a stronger Cryo/Hydro Sub DPS, like Ganyu or Yelan.

Yes, Wanderer is viable on these teams in theory. But in practice, sometimes it can be difficult to use Wanderer without a shielder.
It's easier with Xiao, as he spends a lot of time up in the air, and he is immune to interruption during the plunge descent animation.
With Wanderer, it depends on how aggressive the enemy is. Even if you manage to dodge all of the enemies' attacks, dodging itself will interrupt your attack strings and consume more of your flying stamina, messing up your combos if you have to dodge too many times during the rotation.
This is the kind of team that you need to try yourself to see if it works for you or not. If your friend is an experienced Wanderer Main, it will be fine most of the time.

Not necessarily, since Thoma's personal damage is much lower than Xiangling's. Also, since your Faruzan is still C3, she can't use the Tenacity set, while Zhongli can. Therefore, the advantages would be well balanced:
Zhongli providing 20% Res Shred + 20% Atk (Tenacity).
Thoma providing 15% Dmg (C6) + 25% Atk (Pyro Resonance) + tiny pyro damage.
The way I see it, it's through Faruzan's C6 that C6 Thoma becomes an upgrade over Zhongli. Otherwise, I consider him a sidegrade.

@@mohammedalamer4456 Yeah, it's very unlikely, but I don't think it's impossible. Xiao's last rerun was back in 3.4, just one patch after Faruzan's release. It's possible that Faruzan wasn't in his last rerun banner just to avoid repeating a new 4-star for two patches in a row. But Xiao is about to come back and we don't have any rumors of Wanderer's rerun anytime soon, so... there's still hope 🥲

If you are using Bennett, Anemo is better. With Jean, Atk and Anemo goblets are so similar that you can use the one with better substats.
What about sunfire furina (no faruzan)?
This team is pretty solid too. It sacrifices some of Xiao's damage but Furina will be able to vaporize some hits. It's a great alternative for pre-C6 Faruzan teams, possibly an upgrade if you have Jean's C4 (I'm not sure though, mine is C2).
But once you have Faruzan's C6, she becomes irreplaceable for many reasons. Huge buffs, energy battery, crowd control... C6 Faruzan does too many things.

I have a lot of Xiao builds there, for different teams and different ER requirements. In this video I used 4pc Vermillion with 2472 Atk, 92.1% Crit Rate, 181.4% Crit Dmg and Anemo goblet

Xianyun is great, Jean (especially if she's C4+) or Sucrose (with TTDS) are also pretty good
it really is an underrated synergy
I see a lot focusing on her with tao since she depletes her own hp, but the healing isn't good to keep her hp below 50
By pairing Furina and a healer with Hu Tao, you lose 33% Pyro damage from Hu Tao's passive and a higher multiplier on her Burst. But you're getting a huge damage bonus for the entire team, up to 75%. Not to mention that it makes the Marechaussee Hunter set viable on Hu Tao, which is very strong. I think it's worth it. I've been using a team with Hu Tao + Yelan + Furina + Jean and I'm really liking the results.
But Xiao was buffed by Furina just as much as Hu Tao, and most people are sleeping on it. To be more precise with numbers, from what I calculated, Furina increased my Hu Tao team's DPS by 14%. As for my Xiao, his team's DPS improved by 13% with Furina. Close enough for me to think she's equally valuable to both.
(And maybe she will get even better for Xiao if some of the recent leaks about Cloud Retainer are true)

Thanks! My Bennett is using Noblesse Oblige. The 20% Atk buff from this set is very valuable for Xiao, as he has the highest base Atk in the game, as well as a signature weapon with very high base Atk. So Noblesse ends up being a little bit better than Maiden here, but the difference is minimal, around 1~2%.
is xiao on atk goblet?
No, I'm using Anemo goblet, as it's still about 6% stronger than my best Atk goblet on Furina+Bennett team, and 2% stronger on Furina+Jean team. I used to throw my Atk goblets into the strongbox, I didn't imagine that one day they would be as good as Anemo goblets on Xiao.

One of his playstyles but If u Just plunge your dps Will be almost The same
Xiao's ideal combo depends on the kind of enemy you are facing, as the size and shape of the hitbox will define whether the enemy is vulnerable to collision damage, and whether we should use high plunge or low plunge for the collision damage to hit.
In general, the best combo is:
For multiple enemies -> High Plunge + NA (the NA is for animation cancel)
For a single tall enemy, like bosses -> High Plunge + NA (with the plunge touching the enemy)
For a single smaller enemy, like elite mobs -> Low Plunge + CA (with the plunge touching the enemy)
For an enemy immune to collision damage -> High Plunge + CA
Sometimes we can mix more than one combo too, like I did against Jadeplume Terrorshroom. I started using High Plunge + NA while it was jumping, but switched to Low Plunge + CA when it went down. And if we're not using a shield, we may have to make adjustments to the combo to avoid interruption by heavy hits.
It's also possible to deal collision damage to more than a single enemy, but it's not easy.
I'm thinking about making a more detailed video about some of Xiao's techniques, like these combos.
I have jean c5 so i just kick faruzan c4 out entirely and play sunfire with furina instead. The constant pyro application means that furina’s pets can constantly vaporize their attack.
Looks like a very interesting team, Furina's own damage potential is no joke. I'll try it when I get Jean's C4.
@@RafosAnother advantage this team has is that because Bennett gives so much atk, jean can go full er crit rate fav sword to battery the team without having to use healing artifacts.
Is c2 faruzan ok. I don't have her c6 still building actually.
Mine is C3, which in practice is the same as C2. Her buff is insane even without C6. However, without her C6, you may need a third Anemo as a battery, as her and Xiao's energy requirements are astronomically high if you can't finish all the chambers in one or two rotations. Not to mention the crowd control that is locked behind her C6.
