I modded my cheap(ish) titanium cooking pot to have silicon handles like a MSR Titan! I also put the handles back upside down, not discussed in the video to reduce the surface area near the stove. I discuss this hack, the pros and cons, and how you could make it better.

Also if you are avoiding Amazon, feel free to buy elsewhere and tip me at ko-fi.com/tjbarts - I bought it when it was £26, now it's pricier, Aliexpress or eBay et al would mostly likely be cheaper, if sometimes slower)
The Mojito was a fine vintage year, 2022 from ALDI. Other mojitos are available.
PSA: I warned a fair bit in this video but please careful with this mod, the reason I didn't put the tubing flush with the pot and left a gap was the possibility of it burning like this: • MSR Kettle Update (I think that's why it's best to get the tubing meant for nitro/fuel which I did, has a higher burn/heat point of 200C, not the cheap aquarium air tubing as they did which burst into flames - but still it is always best to keep the tubing away from the flames! Even melty silicon is a bad idea. It's partly why I also inverted the handles as well which I forgot to mention in the video).
If you're worried, then ONLY do this mod on the top handle. And of course, you do this at your own risk - others have done this mod without problems, but pots shouldn't be left unattended anyway especially near tents, so keep an eye on it.
2023 UPDATE: The pot is fine, it singed a little bit on first use on the bit nearest the flame, I blew it out, problem solved. You can see this pot in my latest video and see that the tubing has survived JUST fine. • The Titanium Scam: Cam...

And here I am cutting and removing all the plastic tubing from thre handles of my cookset. I use a small 4x4 piece of carbon felt welding blanket if I need to pickup or hold hot items in my palm.

Why are you doing that? Also, I have been looking for a light solution for somethng like that, that's a great idea...tempted to take one of those silicon trivets but of course heat proof not flame proof.

Good video and idea. I've used heat shrink tubing (pretty cheap to buy) to add sleaving to my pot handles. Bit of a faff to bend round the corners, but probably still easier with heat shrink as it's bigger (before shrinking- by placing handles in the oven)

That's a good idea! I And heat shrink would be far more heatproof - the silicon tubing will burn if near a flame - not a problem as long as you keep the tubing away from the burny bts.
Also I've just found even the 'desgined for stoves' silicon stuff like the Fire Maple lid can melt!

I know this is 2years ago but I would like to ask something about this product:
How can I remove the rod and handle? Mine seems to be stuck.

I wonder if you injected something like Vaseline in the tub before putting on it to help it slide one. I have an old french press, I should see about converting one of my pots with the plunger.
