Hellloooo! My name is Clancy and I'm originally from Long Island, NY, whch is about 40 minutes from NYC. In 2017, I moved to Ohio to become a TV news reporter, but after waking up at 2 a.m. for 5 years, I decided to leave that job and pursue RUclips full-time.
I recently bought a house in Cincinnati and love making all kinds of videos, focusing on everything from money and finances (saving, budgeting, and being financally independent in your 20's) to health, fitness, and nutrition, to beauty and fashion. I'm getting married next summer so I also love providing wedding updates and showing you exactly how I'm planning my own wedding.

Clancy you need proper measuring spoons if you're going to be serious about cooking lol
"I followed the recipe to a tee!". You did not 😂😂 I think you mixed up table and teaspoons/vice versa. Also, even if used/measured correctly, they aren't the same measurements as actual measuring spoons. Cooking requires precision not just guessing (at least initially until you become experienced). I love your vlogs but this was lowkey stressful to watch 😂😂
It was driving me crazy. I’ve cooked long enough now that I can edit recipes but when I was first learning I followed recipes exactly so they would come out correctly. Clancy needs to watch some basic cooking videos or go take some classes 😂

I do homemade dressing all the time and make just enough for the salad I’m going to eat. It’s a basic olive oil, red wine vinegar salt and pepper. Comes out perfect every time. No measuring just eyeball it and test taste if I need to add more of anything.
Watching Clancy in the kitchen is triggering 😂. Although, I do love how proud of herself she was for mixing oil and vinegar together! ❤ "Practice makes progress"

When you get measuring spoons you will be even more of a chef. That said, how is that you don’t you already have them? It’s like cooking & baking 101. I mean I’m a guy & even I have them. LOL!!!! Keep up the good work. Tell Zac he’s a lucky guy. Happy fall.

Clancy, when you explained the “freak out” surrounding your nut allergy it totally resonated with me. I also have a severe tree nut allergy and freak myself out all the time thinking I’m having a reaction, even when it’s food that I’ve had a million times and know is safe. Glad to know I’m not alone and that you deal with it too!
Watching you make the dressing was hands down hilarious! Missing the bowl, oops too much mustard, the counter a mess!!! I loved it! So glad you liked it! Keep cooking I need some comedy in my life!!!
When you make the dressing, you need to make sure it emulsifies when you make it. Water (balsamic vinegar) doesn't want to mix with oil (olive oil). When you make it, very slowly add the olive oil to the balsamic while whisking vigorously. If you can get that part done right, it won't separate in the fridge.

also, get a proper pouring jar for the homemade dressings, it will make a difference
Also measuring spoons! You used tablespoons of salt and pepper when it called for teaspoons. 😮
This would also make it the right color, and prevent it from solidifying so much in the fridge

@@ClancyBurkeX Clancy I bought one of those Infiniti pro cooling irons about a month ago and and what it does is it mix is heat with a cooling fan and it has a clip to open it like a curling iron and when I’m able to do it right I can’t believe how long the curls last! they last for days!

your dressing is fine! it just got cold and the oil part hardened. it needs to come up to room temp again and then give it a good shake! no stabilizers like xanthan gum = oil separation and hardening.

You need actual measuring spoons for accuracy. Regular teaspoons and tablespoons are not for cooking or baking. You could really affect a recipe especially when baking without the correct measurements. Happy Cooking!

I am highly allergic to peanuts and could go into anaphylactic shock if I have peanuts so I completely understand how you're feeling about not experimenting with foods!! It feels nice to know that I am not alone!! 😀
My fav home made dressing is, olive oil, lemon juice, honey, garlic, and apple cider vinegar. I only make enough for the salad I’m about to eat. But it’s soooo good!
The separation and hardening of the oil made me chuckle. The additives you mentioned keep that from happening in the store bought ones.
In regards to your allergies. With so many things you're sensitive to, I'm surprised you don't have Epi Pens. I only say this because my son has various allergies, and even though he went through injections for desensitization, his physician said to always have them on hand. Something for you to think about. They could offer you some assurance that if you do have a reaction, help will be readily available. As always, love your videos.

@@ClancyBurkeX until you have a little more experience cooking, you might get some measuring spoons and one for solids. Whatever meets your kitchen esthetic. Once you have more experience you can measure from the heart.

I always make my own dressing & I just keep it in an old Kevita glass bottle. I use apple cider vinegar, balsamic, olive oil & mustard
If you put your dressing ingredients in a blender, you can emulsify the vinegar and oil. Usually you wait to add the oil to the blender. Add all your other ingredients, turn on the blender, then slowly drizzle the oil into the other ingredients. If you emulsify it, it won’t separate. The original recipe may have done that, that would account for the difference dressing color between yours and theirs.
I am so glad you are ok. As soon as I saw your face in that clip, I started to go through your ingredients, trying to think what could have triggered an allergic reaction. Thank goodness you were ok.

Loved your crazy cooking with Clanc! 😅. I’ve made homemade dressing for years. If you’re going to eat the dressing within a week it’s totally fine to just leave it out on the counter. It might ferment a little bit but I think that makes it taste more complex and good.

Those Velcro rollers are to big for your hair. Use clips instead of big rollers also you can make the dressing without the oil and then add the oil to your salad. It’s totally fine. I eat low fat and I make a similar dressing without oil. Very good!

My favorite salad dressing recipe is from my mom: white or herb vinegar, sunflower or rapeseed oil, sugar (might replace it with xylit), salt,. You can spice it up with pepper, mustard, lemon juice, fresh herbs.
I think you would benefit from having an EPI for just incase at least to keep at home 💕💕

I honestly think you have an obsession w knives! You get the biggest knife to open all your boxes (sometimes unsafely lol), then when your talking w said knife in your hand, you wave it around (scarily lol) and the the look on your face when you took the HUGE knife out to cut cookies, the look on your face said it all!
