Yeah, I'm finding out that turning up the volume and gain doesn't necessarily sound good when recorded. Sounds good in the room. Also I don't have recording equipment or audio interfaces just guitar into Amp and Amp out to room. I'm just recording ideas and want it to sound good on the play back. And I know that doubling the guitars will also make that tone I'm after.
Magic happens when you record two guitars and hard pan them each. I have a video on that here: ruclips.net/video/yJc-I4Xg8ls/видео.html
Cool video boss! Question: when you record each rhythm guitar and pan them left and right , how do you go about panning a lead line in that same mix?
I have the lead track up the middle. Although I sometimes like to record harmonizing leads and in that case, I’ll pan the two tracks
Is that an ESP LTD guitar with EMG pick ups? Which model?
I think those are EMG 81s and this is the LTD M-1000 Deluxe. Not sure what year...bought it used in 2009. It's one I'll never part with.
@@jasonstallworth Mine is ESP LTD AX-50 with good pick ups. But it's made in China not Indonesia. It sucks below 15th fret on high e string, otherwise a very nice instrument.
That is the same amp I got when I was going to be playing and recording with a band out here. I ended up getting a mint condition lil Mesa 1x12 rather than the EVH 2x12 that was with the amp. i've looked into stacks enough to realize a 4x12 has the weight and maybe 4Db more but a 2x12 can take care of the needs and move with ease. I think a vertical cab speaks more to me, but my question for you sir, is do you think that the horizontal EVH 2x12 would be worth it?
Dude, it's really a toss up and if you like what you have, just stick with that. I got the matching 2x12 when I got the head and really happy with that.
The other thing you can consider is if you're recording more than one rhythm track, alternate the cabs using the same amp head. That's going to make your mix sound more lively.
my NEW (yes im old school) is ez drummer ezbass plug into studio one artist WAY BETTER than old rack system w gp7 and faster by 10x
Yeah these software tools are a lot easier to use once you get it down!
love this video...the simplest sounds are best in a mix
I do love simplicity!! If things get too complicated, I kinda space out! lol
Cool. I've been chasing the elusive Dark Funeral tone on Secrets of the Black Arts.
They’ve got some cool stuff!
My mids are almost similar to urs I have the EMTYS so those are great for tight low end tuning and already bass mid same setting so I lower my bass setting in my amp a bit since actives have thr own preamp eq

Hey Jason, Long time watcher and subscriber here, Excellent content you bring to the community, thank you for that! Question regarding your EVH 5150 III EL 34 50 Watt tone, I have one as well, is yours stock or have you done the C-137 Mod? Thanks!
Thank you. Mine is all stock. I like how to blue channel sounds as it is
how about resonance?
I totally forgot about that! I have it up to about 60%
@@jasonstallworth i find it quite "silent" in my Marshall DSL, not as sensitive as presence, you've got any idea on Marshall DSL settings for metal?
@@kopan14 never played through one of those
Magistral explanation Jason!!!! Pdf file is really amazing too. Great Video dude ;)
Awesome, I hope that helps!!
@@jasonstallworth of course Jason!!! Your videos always have a great helpful touch 💪😉

Thanks Jason.... Evolution....
Keep it metal......

Ahh this is a very interesting topic !! 🤘🎸🎛🎚🎶
Yeah this is a cool one!!
@@jasonstallworth It is !
My Amp Sim started acting up a bit with error issues, that made me to read the manual (which I should have done 2 years ago)
Now I can use a foot pedal to switch between different tones.
Only 1 thing to figure out now , that's importing tones from external sources😎
All the Gain! No Mids! Metal Zone! SLAAAAAYYEEEEERRRR!!!
🤘
Jason,.... how awesome 😎 are you?
Really awesome, I'm learning metal rhythm like I never knew, gee whiz my wife is saying man you sound so much better and I'm laughing thanks Jason....
😂🤘🤘🤘
Hey Jason, I’ve been messing with my fender mustang 1 v2. Im using fender fuse but it’s outdated and no support for it. Is there any of programs you suggest that would work for me with support ?
I'm using Positive Grid's BIAS in the video and STL also has some good plugins.
How loud do you have to crank up the 5150iii to get a good tone? My 6505 needs to be loud as heck.
This is where the EVH 5150 III is different from most tube amps. You don't have to crank it for a good tone. Now, some may say the tone will sound better the higher you crank it, but I record with the volume at like 1.4 - 2.
In fact, you just gave me a video idea...recording with the EVH at low VS high volume! That will be a good side by side test!
Excelente

Great tutorial, bias have a lot of features...have you used pedal fx? You your metal course beginner it's awesome! 👍
I’ve not used their pedal yet but would like to get that. And thank you for getting my course!
Very interesting episode,.. Thanks Jason =) Love cheers

Hi, Jason!! Maybe i've miss something but where I can finde the tab of the example you use in the video?
Dude I just made up something for this video. I do offer tabs (and backing tracks) in my guitar courses: metalmastermind.com/metal-riff-master/
Also have a Patreon as well with tabs and tracks (link in description) 🤘
@@jasonstallworth thank you!!
Hey I’ve just started learning could you help me please I don’t know where or how to start learning metal any advice would be great, loving the videos🤘
This is the perfect video on where to start (3 things beginner metal players need to know): ruclips.net/video/DRY6ZvdQ9qk/видео.html
@@jasonstallworth thank you for your help really appreciate it, I have purchased your apprentice course can’t wait to get started thanks again🤘
Sick man and treble not too high bass about half or bit more mids little bit less and gain shouldnt be high I think to get that razor modern thick sound is the treble and gains dont need it high. Also love ur tone
Yeah, too much bass in tue guitar tone can become a problem. You want tue actual bass guitar carrying those low end frequencies
What recording app do you use?
Presonus Studio One Pro
What inch are your rokit? I plan to buy presonus eris 3.5 together with my multieffects not sure if that is enough or not
These are 5 inch, perfect for smaller rooms. I’ve got studio guide with everything here: www.jasonstallworth.com/home-recording-studio-guide/
@@jasonstallworth ahh I see I wonder if 3.5 inch speakers are enough or not to put into context I only reach vol 3 on my 20watt amp
Sounds killer man...has a Loudness sound to it
Thank you brother 🤘
Thank you very much brother for the tab and tone set up it sounds awesome many thanks
