      You're welcome! I'm glad it's helpful. As for the fence lights. The one in the center is a regular spot light (make sure you pop out the glass lens if you install it upside down like that), and the other 4 on the fence are hardscape lights.

    Thanks to Isaac for the wiring demonstration.
    What's your preferred wiring method? I remember reading your comment on another video that you don't like using hubs. Could you elaborate? Does that mean you prefer daisy chaining?
    If you're lighting columns that are 6 inches in width would you still use a 38° beam spread? Seems a bit wide to me if a 15° option is available. I ask because I believe you said that you don't stray much from 38° beam spreads throughout a project. If I misread those comments from a different video, my bad. Thanks for your insight.

      I'll let him know!
      Yes I prefer daisy chain + hub method. So I don't like the idea of one spot (hub) that all wires come to connect. It makes for a lot of wire in the yard, often times running several wires next to each other when only need is one (with LED lights). I like daisy chaining about 4-5 lights in a row. I essentially have a few "hub" spots and a few daisy chains. Hope that makes sense. (Ill make a video on this)
      You read right, I don't stray from 38degree. You can definitely either have a 15 degree or what I do is install a MR11 fixture. The smaller fixture allows for a small light beam. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope that helps!

    • @kbentz108
      @kbentz108 3 года назад

      @@aklighting8292 thank you sir. So you mean the 38° beam spread on an MR11 will be smaller than a 38° beam spread on an MR16? Makes sense simply because the MR11 is smaller. Similarly the 38° beam angle on an MR8 will be even smaller than both.
      Regarding bulb wattage throughout a typical project of yours: do you vary or keep all wattage the same if possible? My understanding is if the subject to be illuminated is tall, or the fixture has to be placed many feet away from the subject, use a high wattage (higher the watts, the further the light will reach).
      My home is in a subdivision that's pitch black. I'm talking no street lights throughout except for a few street lanterns with a bright blue color temp...hardly does much. Reason I'm saying this is, I don't think I need very bright lights in my system to make an impact since it's pitch black around me except for nights the moon is shining.

      @@kbentz108 I'm sorry for not responding to this, it slipped past me. David, if this is your post, i'm sorry for not getting back to you here.
      To answer the question, I typically keep all the bulbs the same for a couple reasons. 1. I prefer the brighter look / the consistent lighting look much better than the "designed" look with varying lights. 2. I like to keep things simple. If all the lights are the same, I only have to remember to replace the lights with 1 bulb instead of keep track of several light bulbs.
      As for the brightness, I like the bright better, but if you are worried then keep all the lights at a 3-4 watts. I have a few customers that prefer the 3-4 watt look to the brighter look and it works for them. Do whatever you feel your gut tells you do to because you're the one who will be seeing the lights more than anyone. If you think they should be dimmer, then have then dimmer.

      I know you do. You could look up Trim Lighting or JellyFish (not as good, but worth it) to see if they are in your area. I'm half temped sending you the product and having you install it, but its a bit tricky at first and I wouldn't want to do that to you.

    Why wouldn't you protect the wiring in the dirt with conduit ? I can't see that lasting very look before it needs to be wired right.

    • @aklighting8292
      @aklighting8292  2 года назад

      Great question. I think this is a subject often debated. Since it was fresh dirt I could have run conduit in the flower bed. But most of the time because we install the wire out of the way or future planting, 99% of our wires don't get cut. There are times were I know the wires could get cut and we use conduit. Thanks for your comment.

      You uninstall all the electrical. Good design with lighting is work and time consuming. People who dont put in the hours to make it look good, never reap the benefits of something amazing.
