do yourselves a favor if you havent tried yet, go ahead and click the third option when creating a d2r character for "pre-expansion" . Its so fun . Rares are the best items, so its actually worth picking up many types of yellow items unlike expansion which is limited. Theres no runewords. Your inventory isnt stuffed withc harms so you have room to loot. Its dope
P.s. items sell for more if you repair them 1st. Bosses only drop good once. No quest bug. Champs and uniques only drop magic item unless act4 has small % for rare etc.
I believe in this version the Iron Maiden + Blood Golem/Bone Wall bug was still in place... Iron Maiden acted as damage done, so blood golem would heal based on the damage returned. Also, Bone Wall would return damage ... OP
Enjoy your vacation. I was late to the stream and it ended when I stepped away for 5 minutes. Be sure to see the Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, Meteor Crater, and Canyon de Chelly (pronounced Canyon de Shay), as well as any other sights you can squeeze in. It truly is *God's Country* out west.
Yeah, I remember playing the original version 20 or so years ago when it first came out. First character I played was the paladin. There weren't any build guides or helps at the time, so I played this pretty vanilla, no runes or rune words and only used perfect gems to get boosts. The rares that dropped were pretty crappy, too. Completed the game completely and managed to kill Baal and Diablo with really crappy equipment and stats in less than a week.
baal wasnt in the original version lmao. nice story tho. baal was introduced with LoD and patch 1.07, and by that time there were also runes and charms(and plenty of help available on the internet). your story doesnt check out at all. either your memory is bad, or your story is fabricated, but this is the internet, so im leaning towards the latter.
@@Evilkillergosu1 right I was about to say I’m 100% positive that Diablo was the end boss and that’s why the cut scene with Baal acting as the angel was so special. It was letting you know the story isn’t over. I still remember making a low level pvp ww barb lvl 30 using twitchthroe and the swordback shield. Don’t really remember what weapon I used I believe it was either a unique battle hammer or rare one. I also remember getting my first rattle cage and bonesnap thinking I was the shit lol. I was so young back then so I wasn’t very good. But I never did really get any characters past level 60 back then. It wasn’t until LOD came out whenever I really got decent at the game.

Pre LOD was my favorite era. I still play 1.06 often.

Sounds like locations from act 2
@@robot_bender-q2r Even better!
The fact you are playing this over d3 or d4 just proves bizzard isnt making games we like anymore.
rate speeds were fast, faster, fastest.
best d2 channel
Can't you run out of town and re-enter to refresh gambling window in this version instead of having to exit every time?
It wouldn't work, in this version it didn't reset vendors unless you exited game.
@@SweetPhil I see. That's why I was asking. Exiting every time seems like such a hassle.
what version did you play?
It's patch 1.03. It's essentially launch day version with some game breaking but fixes.
