- Chelsea have been heavily linked with 17 year old Brazilian wonderkid Estêvão Willian. The young Brazilian currently plays at Palmeiras in Brazil. I am kind of sick of hearing about transfers and we are not even into the Summer transfer window. Am I the only one embarrassed about all of last summer's transfers? We bought plenty of players that haven't even played more than 10 minutes, or even put the jersey on before and sat on the bench. Why do we need more young players benchwarming?
The only signings I want to see this summer are experienced players in positions we are lacking depth - centre back, left back and striker - emphasis on experience, and no sight of the word 'elite', or 'prospect'. We have signed 'elite' and 'prospect' plenty of times, lets get experienced players like Thiago Silva and Giroud who have both played a big role in our last great success.
I think this estavao is the exception, I’d like to see him come in. But yeah, last summer I feel we bought way too many random youngsters just to loan them out, have them injured, or be rotting in the u21s. I’d like this youngster to be the only signing like this, it’s worth it for the elite ones, but not worth paying £15-£20m for the semi good ones (e.g. Washington).
I’d like to see a CB, LW, GK and CF come in this summer who have some experience. Maybe CB is fine to leave if Chalobah stays. Then obviously replace positions if a player is sold (e.g. if Chilwell is sold we need a LB). CF I’d want to see someone come to compete with Jackson, not take the position completely (e.g. Oshimen). Hopefully we see smart signings for experienced depth to the squad, not breaking the bank too heavily.

@@matthewmcculloch9320 I prefer Jackson at CF personally, I don’t want to see him playing LW much. But tbh Nkunku and Mudryk can play there so it’s not really a priority. Sometimes I forget we even have some players because they’ve been injured so long lol.

The owners have only been here for 20 odd months they’re setting up their vision of the club which includes bringing in young players. when they’re eligible to play they’ll be huge for us just be patient with it
No shot this guy is better than Neymar at 17. Neymar was starting for the Brazil senior team already and destroying teams as one of the best wingers in the world AT 17. I feel like there has been some retroactive slander about Neymar and his career due to how it's sputtering out on the tail end

I am Brazilian and Palmeirense (Palmeiras fan) and trust me, Palmeiras have money and will do anything to keep Estevão in the team until this super club world cup thing. This type of cup is a big thing here in Brazil and Leila Pereira (SEP President) is trying to build an better Palmeiras to Abel Ferreira (SEP goat coach), Felipe Anderson and many others will arrive in the next transfer Window for that. (Sorry if my english is a bit rusty, it's been a while)

It's the financial strategy that you should be looking at. If we can sign these guys at a good price, then loan out and eventually sell them at a big profit, then Chelsea have that money to spend on what they need.
It's just good business.

@@mmaduekweakaolisa1987 yes, I think we all agree the front office has made big errors in the makeup of the first team. I think they are learning from their mistakes. Keep in mind that we can probably get this kid for 15 million....and even if he never makes the first team, we can later sell him for upwards of 50 million if he performs well on loan. Those types of financial streams are crucial to our ability to sign 1st team players. Evaluating who actually should fill 1st team roster spots is another discussion
If Trev Chalobah is still leaving then I think its fair to go for Antonio SIlva. Would rather a more experienced CB is signed to replace Thiago maybe Inacio.
Again though. Why sell a good cb to gamble on someone who might be good. Just keep Chalobah

Yes he's experienced but we have kids with a better profile abd contribute far better than he does...and a number of other players. We arent even in Europe and despite Poch's improvement on the team, to me he's still suspect to be our coach. Give these kids to a serial winner. We can not lack experience in the team and then again have an inexperience coach who wasn't won a lot

I don't see Omari and Angelo Gabriel playing consistently for the first team. They'll be moved on within a couple of years, pretty sure.
