At least for now, humans have the upper hand because they can come up with new ideas instead of roughly throwing together what already exists. Human art will always have higher value regardless of how good A.I. gets because it's simply... human and there is no replacement or replica of that.
btw I love the animation and editing of your videos! It's creative, funny and also adorable :)

okay, realtalk here because i have seen a lot of those AI comparison videos randomly lately, i've tried to avoid the most because i'm honestly not really pumped about it but here i go i guess (warning this is long lol):
I personally think that AI just wont be compatible to a humans mind ..at least for now I believe. Idk thinking about it is pretty much pointless in the end though, because even if it "would" be "better" in the future, its still not made by a human.
theres no emotion, no meaning, no story, no nothing behind it,its just....a drawing. that isn't really ART now is it? But i do hope that ai will fail to overcome us artists, because if it does overcome us, then you can't really call it art anymore, you know? Art has to come from someones heart, brain and soul, its our hard work, and an artists everything (at least that how I see ART , its my everything, to the deepest part of my soul even) and that doesn't count on illustratic art, it counts to all forms of art, music, game development, poetry, Sport/dance, writing, gosh even any type of hobby like cooking or "just" playing games, because art defines EXPRESSING emotions, finding your own passion and motivation to make something, which AI will not be accomplishing at least for decades. of course we make stuff with HELP of AI , but again , ART--IFICAL INTELLIGENCE again is something expressed by humans, not something organically or just already existing. Just like money, it can satisfy us temporarily, but can it really make us happy by taking our passion , ideas, emotions and love away and just pooping it out like nothing?
Tbh , i'd rather drop dead knowing I have expressed my feelings and maybe even inspired a few people rather than having to watch AI just poop out things that in the end, DONT exactly define MY feelings, MY passion. NOTHING i can assure for myself at least, NOTHING will be able to 100% replicate our/my exact mindset, its just too complex to just...replicate. yeah ofc "artstyles" or "art ideas" might be easy to copy or replicate, but CREATING something on its own, nah, i believe it will fail for quite a while. As AI has proven so far, it only knows how to mish-mash, copy, trace/steal or get a slight idea of pre-existing things.
If AI is "better off" making ART, no matter if now or if in the future, than Humans, then the meaning of ART has officially died to me.
so any pros i could...COULD like see for some people might be:
    - quicker money making, just in general being faster with things
    - AI becoming smarter and maybe even get ANYWHERE near of an organic mind.
    - its easier than coming up with something on my own, again linked with it being faster
and honestly i can't find any more pros to it... and I'm also ready to argue about these "pros" because all of them have MORE cons to them individually again.
only few of them being - nothing is original, nothing has emotion behind it and the fact if faster and easier is really better?
again this is just my very critical opinion about it, if anybody thinks the opposite about it , they should do what they do, cause again, humans express , and that quite diversely.
okay enough about my goofy-ahh ranting
    now to the video itself:
amanda you did such a good job like always, I rarely spent time commenting on things nowadays just because of my own things i gotta do, sadly dont have the time to join in streams (sadly there are also really like at 2am in my country) but i do check out your videos sometimes and get hit with the nostalgia haha, your fusion with kirby and pochita is absolutely adorable and the Hatsune Miku and gorillaz fusion is just top notch, you replicated the style really well, but also kept your original flow to it which is amazing!
ALSO WHAT THE HELL WAS WITH THE AI GENERATING A WOMAN IN A BAD CARNIVAL LIKE COSTUME??
but anyways, always glad to see your videos when i have the time for it, you still are and still will be a big inspiration to me,i've improved a lot in throughout the years i've been subscribed to the channel, still remember when it was just a tiny babyy , thank you for always entertaining us
love, limey (or Blue if you don't remember me changing my username back then hehe~)

What an incredibly thought out comment! You made some amazing points!
I really believe that there will always be a place for artists. Especially in illustration and graphic novel positions. If someone is writing a children's book and wants specific scenes drawn out I don't believe an AI can create those illustrations with the eye the author has for it. This goes for advertising in graphic design too!
Then of course with video game and animation industries there's no way an AI can collaborate with the developers to get the concept art and character designs they want.
But if someone wants an AI to make a sunflower in a vase for their bathroom go for it lol. That's the best AI can do right now

I'm sorry but this is a complete disregard of reality that won't do anybody any good. I'm close to the AI field and I can't believe the break neck speed this field is in.
We thought the brain was this incredibly unique machine, which still is, but we can now create new brains that work the same way with digital neural networks.
Like happens with brains, scaling up these models invokes emergent behaviour capable of interpret very complex data, understand natural language, write books, code, create art, music, solve exams, fold proteins, solve age-old math theorems etc.
Current models in the works can copy an artist style to create any work you can imagine with it. I saw these two artist working with an AI startup developing one such model trained on their style and they were genuinely shocked and I can't blame them.
Text to image, video, 3D etc are flooding the AI industry with unbelievable results. The model used in this video is medieval compared to current state of the art.
And this just started barely a year and a half ago, we are close to surpass the scale of human brains. We are already seeing companies of all sizes scaling down their creative workforce: artists, copy writers (google Jasper AI), product designers... It's not just the current state, it's the exponential improvement.
Professional artists will see a dramatic reduction of job offers very soon; only a small group will still stand in the next 3-4 years.
Look into it, and find a way of riding this wave financially while you work on an exit strategy. The only silver lining is that you won't be alone, this will happen to every job you can do on a computer and sooner or later governments will have to provide economic solutions like the universal basic income.

    • @Scomicmaker
      @Scomicmaker  Год назад +1

I see your points but I don't think it's going to take over all art jobs. Sure AI is getting better and better at replicating styles but I believe there will always be jobs for artists in fields like, character design, background art, comics and illustrating books as well as advertising with graphic design.
AI as it is can get some incredible concepts and ideas out for sure but I definitely don't think it's "game over" for artists. There will always be a place for us. It will just be even more competitive. Those who can't compete in a competitive market will just keep art as a hobby then. Even then that's fine too

@@Scomicmaker There are models for literaly all those examples too in academic work, which is getting picked up by this new AI-as-a-service industry. Remember how people thought that Art would be the last thing in the line of automation?!
It doesn't matter what you "think" at this point.
Scale of it all, and the exponential growth is going to throw off even those who are experts in the field.
It's all just a matter of time. And even if some jobs stay unaffected in your lifetime, it wouldn't be the same for the next generations to come.

This was a great video, and your art is really cool, but I need to play devil's advocate. You ran your art not only against Dalle-2, which is the oldest and least accurate of the public AI (Midjourney v4 or NovelAI would be a much closer contest), but you also primarilly drew from current pop culture which was almost entirely absent from the Dalle2 model. Like Chainsaw man isnt even in the library, its too new.

Thank you for your honesty in your comment! Based on your comment and another I received I didn't do enough research into Dalle2. I know that there are some AI that are much better at realism and digital artistic styles but this was going to be the first in a series where I battle against different AI. But I started with Dalle2 since it was the most simple.
I also didn't know that Dalle2 is considered an older AI that doesn't know current pop culture so thank you for informing me! I'll make sure to keep that in mind next time I try to generate images on the site.

Check out Stable Difussion and Midjourney... Or just wait a few short months and any recent model will nail any commission you throw at it. There are starting to appear in private beta prompts in a chat format where you give more and more instructions/corrections like you are talking to an artist. The game is over.
