My last two GT5 radios done this same thing! No one could give me an answer, it was very frustrated, I eventually took the potentiometer out of my old GT3 and put it in my GT5. Solved my problem. Something is not right and this problem is starting to pop up more and more. Thanks again for another banger!! Time to binge watch some more!
Try to recalibrate your controller. Turn steering one way or the other it will come to a menu for factory reset and the other way lets you recalibrate. It does steering and throttle. I hope this helps. If you reset you’ll have to bind whatever receivers you had hooked to it by the way.
My GT5 started doing the same thing and I thought it was my servo going bad!!! Looks like it’s time to switch over to the radio link that Mr. Crawler Canyon loves so much. I take it back after watching more. My steering isn’t near as jerky, but it seems like my servo end points are constantly changing. One second I will have full range of steering and the next I will only have 1/2 as much.
The rc6 and rc8 are very smooth feeling radios and the battery tray removes for lipo install. I'm just not a fan of the looks/ergonomics. But dang they smooth.
I have 2 GT5s that are a year and a half old and they are still working ok. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out to see if they get notchy like yours though.
So I discovered from having the same issue with my gt5 that the potentiometer for the steering is the problem. My solution was I took another flysky remote apart and swapped the pot and now my gt5 is butterly smooth. Hope this helps anyone looking for a fix and not a replacement. Easy to do.
Was the 2 speed for the bomber worth it. I crawl my bomber and looking for ideas on the best way to get more low crawl speed. My rig also has rear steer.
Same thing happened with my controller. I pulled it apart and found that the plug for the steering was loose. Pushed it in properly and it works fine again.
I run the gt5 Flysky. I have not had it apart but believe the issue is a dirty potentiometer. Apparently it comes apart responsibly easy ? You have nothing to lose by cleaning the contacts.
Sounds like the GT5 steering issue is somewhat common. I have one that was good until recently. Thought it was my servo. Back on my old Spektrum Rugged. Not my favorite and it’s overpriced but no steering issues.
dumborc ddf-350 is the new budget 👑 $50 on Ali or bang with 3 receivers...it's basically a free remote. 10 channels, color screen, channel mixing, cruise control, winch mode ...it's amazing
My gt5 is doing the same. It was running fine until a couple weeks ago and now in both rigs it's is freezing. Makes it hard for tech lines and frustrating af. I was half thinking noble next but idk if it being fly sky if it will have many issues now as well
Having the same issue with one of my GT5’s. It is absolutely aggravating, especially when you’re at a very crucial point in a technical line and it glitches the rig right off line. It is a bit disheartening to see that this is somewhat of a common issue because I love using the GT5, especially for my 4ws rigs.
Dude I got like six of the GTA V at home every one of them are junk brand new have bought them within the last year and a half I switched to radio link rc4gs really great remote
time to switch to the Radiomaster MT-12. end game radio for a great price. bit of a learning curve but its a hard core radio capable of just about anything.
Take the transmitter steering potentiometer apart, clean its tracks with a contact cleaner + cotton swap. Do that on EVERY Flysky transmitters, to give them a (small) chance to work properly... If you want a "no issue" transmitter : Futaba + a lot of money...😢
See I make contact with them because my first one was really good so when it went out I bought another one I ended up buying five in total absolute junk I don't know what the hell is the issue with them but they're all like brand spanking new I contacted him told him they never really got back with me not like oh we will take care of you blah blah blah so I tried really because crawler Canyon had like them so much the difficult thing about radio link is how wide it is for one-handed operation you know you definitely need some type of steering mod to where you can drop it down and bring it over to your thumb steer but other than that I have beat the living hell out of that remote and it has been great and Fabulous definitely got me interested in the radio link RC 8 I think it's called it's like $260 bucks though
Hey Logan, fantastic video, as yours always are. I am in the process of building out my Capra, largely based on your Dlux build, axles and tires just arrived yesterday. I noticed in one of your other videos you mentioned a "builds channel", can you please tell me where that is? I cannot seem to locate it anywhere. Thank you, for all your help, and for your inspiration!
@@westdesertwheeler Ah, OK, yeah, in the opening remarks of the "Favorite Mods Capra First Run: video, you mentioned "on the build channel", so I thought I might have missed something. I got the Dlux axles, was a toss up between the Dlux axles and the Supershafty, I decided on the Dlux based largely on your comments and on the servo placement, along with two Reefs 1100s, and got some Squid inserts for the Dlux Goat tires, with Dlux high clearance wheels (so I could run the heavy portal covers). I currently have the stock links (those and the body are the only remains stock items on the rig), which I will be replacing eventually. Any suggestions, or things to watch for as I build this rig? Thank you, for all you do, for our beloved hobby!

That was the cleanest I have ever seen you go through the exit of cold cuts. That rig is amazing!
Awesome crawler. Nice smooth run 👍🏾💯
Always like watching your sick capras crawl😎

Awesome run! Really enjoying the crawling content!
I love watching you run Mousetrap and love this Capra. 😎
Ready to run it in your 1/1 buggy?

I love my RC8X

I'm running two brand new gt5's and neither have this problem.
I had that same problem! I had to buy a whole new controller!

Time for an MT12! You won't be disappointed! I sold my RC6GS after I got mine.
I love the Radiolink RCGS, especially for rear steer.
What glue would you suggest and works best for tires. I seem to be having troubles with mine staying glued fully
Same thing happened with my controller. I pulled it apart and found that the plug for the steering was loose. Pushed it in properly and it works fine again.
Mind sharing the link lengths you used on this build?

Do u use weights on ur rear axle too? Those wheels look great
Prob the radio. The rear servo seems smooth so maybe the potentiometer is bad at the steering wheel.

I've bought faulty gt5 before. Could be a bad steering potentiometer in the remote possibly. I replaced with another gt5 and no issue.

How long have you had yours? It looks really promising
@@OkRC.crawlers 2 weeks...I love it the more I use it.
Logan let us know what you find out about your gt5. Mines knotchy to unless i move the steering real slow........
Had my gt5 for almost 2 years still just fine, my nephew just got one yesterday so we'll see this weekend how his is.
I like to get one ❤
Thank you for the Video Logan🎉🎉🎉🎉

I run around 20 GT5s. Only had one twitchy one. Of course it was on a $7k rig.
Static at 10:30. Also those flysky controllers are known for the steering going bad
Is the Capra still the most capable RTR around? I know redcat has the ascents but I’m not sure how they compare

What about the G7?
My bro is about to cycle out his 2nd GT5 because of that steering issue, within a year. I'm still on my first. Maybe time to upgrade 🤔
Please tell me how to get help paying for the winch mount. I really really want to buy one. Is there a way to get in touch with you through email?
I've had two gt5 do that to me
I'm putting together a Bully 2, should i go 2.2 ALUMINUM VANQUISH wheels or plastic, thanks in advance.

I have a build breakdown video. I don’t have any other RUclips channels for RC
