To me nirn root in fallout is just Easter egg. Besthesda just enjoy putting Easter eggs. You can find notched pickaxe in Skyrim but minecraft and Skyrim aren’t the same universe.
Why would you say it's in the future? It would make way more sense for the elder scrolls to be in the past. Magic was forgotten then rediscovered in fallout. Dark lords were forgotten to time nothing left but a few buried statues and monoliths faded from memory, there once was 2 moons but one was destroyed due to some cataclysm. Like all of this make way more sense being before fallout not after.
Main proof to why theres no connection, the gods in the elder scrolls are VERY real and have even invaded the mortal plane multiple times, fallout follows our history until WWII, so uh yeah no gods or at least ones that can show up to cause problems like dagon or molag bal, the connections are just easter eggs because skyrim is todds baby, so yeah hes gonna try to put as much skyrim easter eggs in as he can

The Elder Scrolls content/Easter eggs that found it's way to some of the Fallout games is literally described as being from a book, comic book or radio/TV serial. So in the Fallout Universe the Elder Scrolls are fictional
Maybe something like Silver Shroud and Grognak. Since video games aren't as advanced in Fallout as real life, Elder Scrolls would probably be a comic series.
You could make a connection with the dwemer ruins and the nirnroot. The dwemer were casted away by the gods. Some of them. All of them or one of them could have been transported to the fallout universe. Anything they had on them could have possibly been transported with them. Such as that book. The nirn root. Etc. and since the nirnroot is in a different environment it's evolves and changes like you said.
simple answer..they are not....the sun in fallout is a typical star....but in elderscrolls ..its whole different dimension, the biggest hole to oblivion...it pours in magic to the mortal realm...here they rely on magic...thus they would not create anything such as gun....
But the Elder Scrolls universe is metaphysically, just a dream of the Godhead. So, hypothetically, couldn't the Godhead be someone in the Fallout universe? Or has that all been retconned?
Fallout has a root in different corporate entirely. Bethesda creates Elders Scroll series from the beginning, Fallout was created by Interplay (and Black Isle being designated division in Fallout 2 project). so I don't think the two universes are one. and both Brian Fargo and Tim Cain inteded Fallout to be a distinct universe entirely, no crossover attempts with any other medieval fantasy D&D or AD&D games. and not even with Lionheart which is the only medieval fantasy that uses SPECIAL system. (Arcanum, which created by Tim Cain and some Fallout crew who left mid-project doesn't). Rather Lionheart is more likely set in the same universe as Fallout, (and 'Magic' thing caused divergence maybe :P )
The only way this works is as "parallel universes." Which from what I've seen on the lore for both universes is that there is no interdimensional travel so it doesn't really matter anyways. 🤷🏼♀️
It’s a lot more than that. If there was a quest to have children with elderscroll like powers cut from fallout 4 that shows intent. Much more than just speculation on a plant found in both games that looks the same. (Edit was me changing fallout 1 to 4 as I miss heard it as that quest was cut from 1 not 4)
@@redlight3932 that’s my point if there was a quest in the making that involves elder scrolls like powers in fallout that shows intent to link the 2 together
There is a way.... but I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't be satisfied with it. The Elder Scrolls universe has this concept where the universe gets rebooted every so often. It is POSSIBLE that one of the previous kalpas that Nirn had was the Fallout universe, but, that's not quite the same as what people generally talk about, I think... Although it's my understanding that the Aedra/Daedra would be present in both if this happened...
I never understood why Fallout comes after TES. TES has a clearly defined creation story. For it to come after Fallout, this would need to be all false. Why can't Fallout evolve out of TES?

Hello there, I appreciate the kind words! Trench knife only was a great idea. It was just challenging enough without it being a total nightmare! And yes the channel has grown quite a bit, all thanks to the amazing ideas people send me so thank you 😁👍
My personal theory for the two moons issue is gravitational capture. And it is possible, just really unlikely. The way I see it is that the larger moon is the capture which would explain it's relative size. And the stable orbit could come from the other moon being thrown further out but still stable enough to orbit the planet. It's not a pretty theory by any means, but it does provide a realistic explanation for why the second moon exists, and one we know can happen in real life, if exceedingly rare and unlikely.
I actually mentioned this myself, not long ago, but didn't realize you'd commented it lmao I would wager it's a lot more common than you're posing, considering most of the moons of other astral bodies within our solar system were likely gravitational captures, but while it is a REALISTIC theory, it doesn't seem like such is the case given the many other differences between the two worlds. However, I'm glad someone else had the same thing to point out as myself!
There's a Magnus-sized hole in this theory, though: the Fallout universe operates more or less like our own (even the eldritch "gods" are apparently sufficiently advanced aliens), but the Elder Scrolls universe is an infinite magical bubble that only has linear time because an insane dragon keeps track of it. The sun and stars are actually holes in the firmament. The moons and Nirn are the corpses of dead gods. The visible planets are formerly omnipotent deities who were mostly stripped of their powers to give the universe form. Every other planet is the playground for an evil deity. The Elder Scrolls universe operates on completely different rules.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. The basic fundamentals are all so so different. I think alot of people don't really know the lore and see the superficial resemblances. I think it was a fun segway for him to branch into elder scrolls content though.
It's more likely that the dwemer were exiled into that reality after their experiment with Lorkans heart. And that allowed for minor daedric probing in fallouts reality.
I feel like this is an Easter egg that has gone out of control, no they are not in the same universe. Any person that is deep into Elder Scrolls lore will tell you every reason it’s not possible. The elder scrolls takes place in a world that does NOT resemble our universes cosmology. Fallout takes place on earth in what we would consider to be our universe. There are too many moving parts in both worlds for them to coexist. One thing I always find funny about these theories is the people who push this narrative are either Fallout fans who don’t play elder scrolls or people who like to conveniently overlook big details. For example, the “sun” in TES universe is a hole in aetherius created by a fleeing divine being named Magnus, this hole is where all magic comes from. But hey don’t take my word for it. Pete Hines, the marketing executive for Bethesda said in an interview at E3 2017 that these games not connected. So there you go. That’s why it doesn’t make sense.
Perfect way to diversify into Elder Scrolls content and I am excited for you to dig into ES lore in your format. I think there’s even more to the theory of Fallout and Elder Scrolls being connected that you could expand on. I have been a fan of Fallout since 3 but I could never get into the Elder Scrolls because I am not a fantasy guy but I finally got myself to play Skyrim a few years ago by pretending it was part of Fallout somehow and Nirn being a far future version of the fallout world was also my first ‘theory’ about this. Now that I have been able to get into ES lore I think there is a lot more to the idea of Fallout and ES to take place in the same universe (or maybe multiverse would be a more accurate term). Personally I think it is something that makes perfect sense but Bethesda should leave ambiguous like it is now, like the disappearance of the Dwemer. In my head cannon I like to pretend they are. It makes more sense for Fallout to be in The Elder Scrolls universe rather than the other way around. In ES, there are different mythologies and theories of how the world works which makes it even easier to play around with. But in general, in ES lore Nirn is part of one of many different ‘dimensions’ (ei different planes of Oblivion) that are sometimes connected to varying degrees. I think it’s totally plausible the world of Fallout is part of this multiverse of dimensions. In other words, instead of Nirn being a future version of the world of Fallout, the world of Fallout is a world in the ES universe similar to Nirn. If-Qualtoth could be the Daedric prince of the Fallout plane of Oblivion (similar to the ES theory that Nirn is a plane of Oblivion whose Daedric prince is Lorkhan. Or Ug-Qualtoth and the other eldrich influences could be different interpretations/manifestations of some of the same Daedra in the ES games- in ES this is basically how it is with each culture in the world having their own interpretation of mythology. Like I said there’s a lot of different theories in ES lore I’m sure others would be happy to expand on but lots to dig into and play around with.
Their 110% are not the same universe. Fallout is earth set in Milky Way galaxy and follows our reality timeline till the point we invented the micro-chip which is where we in reality separate from the fallout universe as they didn't invented the micro-chip and thus relied on atomic power. The Elder Scrolls universe is set in Arubis and the plane of existence (as they don't have "galaxy's") is called Nirn, and the content is Tamriel. Hope this clarifies everything.
Maaaaaan come on. Don't even go there. The games are just referencing each other. And if they truly did share a universe it would be a shared multiverse. If you work off on the lore of the godhead (or godmind I forgot what it's called) you learn that other beings in the elder scrolls universe can achieve something called Chim and then eventually Ameranth. Not I'm not sure if I'm spelling it correctly but when you achieve that level you essentially leave the godhead and you yourself become the dreamer. So maybe just maybe there was someone who achieved Ameranth and the different universes from the games are those dreams.
No they are NOT connected in the slightest other than Bethesda deciding to cram Nirnroots into all of their games.... JFC when did people forget what an Easter egg is? By this logic TES and Doom are in the same universe. But again that's NOT the case... Really wish Bethesda wouldn't do Easter eggs. All it does is cause muppets to jump to false conclusions...🙄🤦🏼♂️
How about Fallout wasn't a Bethesda game until Fallout 3, while the Elder Scrolls was always a Bethesda game? Those are definitely 2 different games with different lores, but containing easter eggs of one and other.
All the references and creation club stuff could be canon simply because two identical things can exist in different universes even though he chances are abysmal. People need to stop wishing everything is connected, not everything is a Marvel movie.
@Subject_Keter It isn't even a theory. It's a what if this was a thing. Wouldn't it be cool if the 2 universe were connected. But RUclips comments don't seem to like fun I mean 😅

I always thought fallout was the past and skyrim was thousands of years later. Like a past civilization being more advanced and its history being lost with time.
Seriously, even Tim Cain said that no, they're not part of the same universe. Fallout and the Elder Scrolls were created by 2 different companies and Bethesda bought the IP later. They're not even close to being in the same universe.
If you know about elder scrolls lore none of this is possible. Also to even be possibility it would have to be the reverse of what this video proposes. Elder scrolls would come first. Many kalpas before fallout.
Sorry. If I forget, but the fact is, I remember a video of linking. the elder scrolls fall out world and cyberpunk world connected. Is it also going to be? connected with. I think it was this cabobolated sentences anyway. Starfield, It would definitely help on the sales of Starfield if they're all connected. Not much though by the sounds of it. I haven't played it yet.
Don't forget how weird and spatial splitting dragon breaks are. The time wound in the late Merethic could've done what the Selectives did dancing on the tower, where time split to where the Empire conquered the stars as a space empire. Whose to say the time wound break didn't change Nirn into Earth, shifting history until finally at some point, it will converge back. Dragon Breaks are basically "Dawn Time" so anything goes when that happens.
Nirn has two moons, though. Also, I'm pretty sure the laws of physics & cosmology work very differently in The Elder Scrolls universe (example: the sun & stars are NOT gigantic balls of flaming gas in space but literal holes in the fabric of reality left by a god & numerous spirits fleeing the creation of the physical universe.
Normally, I'd say hopefully something this lame isn't the case. But being that bethesda's Fallout is akin to digging up a dead corpse at this point, I really would be surprised if anyone at the company could come up with something better.
100% no. I prefer my TES and FO like oil and water. Better off superior on their own than in some downgraded shared universe. Not everything needs to be connected. It's bad enough that Fallout 4 and 76 are in the same universe as 1, 2, 3, and NV.

Main proof to why theres no connection, the gods in the elder scrolls are VERY real and have even invaded the mortal plane multiple times, fallout follows our history until WWII, so uh yeah no gods or at least ones that can show up to cause problems like dagon or molag bal, the connections are just easter eggs because skyrim is todds baby, so yeah hes gonna try to put as much skyrim easter eggs in as he can
But so called God's of the Elder Scrolls are just powerful beings who are actually mortal and can be killed.
In the words of Upisnotjump:
"The short answer is no, the long answer is *f* no"
i think the long answer could be: universe is a big place, so sure why not.
Best way of putting it.
@@KngMaxwellIn theory, but this implies that it's the same planet at a different point in time or something of that sort
And I only say no cause they debunked it, but who knows, maybe they'll change their minds
@@MrGanjie oh yea 100% not the same planet, pretty sure Nirn has 2 moons
@@KngMaxwell You can literally look up the layout of the ES universe, from mundas, oblivion to atherius, its nothing like our universe at all, no other galaxies in it
The Elder Scrolls content/Easter eggs that found it's way to some of the Fallout games is literally described as being from a book, comic book or radio/TV serial. So in the Fallout Universe the Elder Scrolls are fictional
Maybe something like Silver Shroud and Grognak. Since video games aren't as advanced in Fallout as real life, Elder Scrolls would probably be a comic series.
There's a computer near the glowleaf that says it grows along rivers and makes a sound when close by just like nirnroot too
Ever read the elderscrolls books?
That city... It passes between realms.
Yes, because everyone thinks multiverses are cool now. They aren't, everyone is wrong, but here we are
Let's be honest, all the easter eggs are just Bethesda shamelessly re-using old assets.
I remember someone made a post on the Steam forums about FFXIV being in the same universe as Fallout.
Some children need to be left behind.
I'd love to see more Elder Scrolls content from you!
Don't worry guys, I have the answer
It's not
I don't get why people are so obsessed with mixing everything into one universe.
Time doesn't change everything.
War ...
The Senior Botanist is the Godhead.
But the Elder Scrolls universe is metaphysically, just a dream of the Godhead. So, hypothetically, couldn't the Godhead be someone in the Fallout universe? Or has that all been retconned?
Maybe the godhead is just that scientist high on nirnroot tea
This is probably the best theory I've heard in this comment section, however most elder scrolls fans believes that the godhead is Michael kirkbride
now we put starfield into the mix :D
but yea i see all the connections as references but the theory is still fun
The Multiverse is a thing in t=The Elder Scrolls... It's accessible via Shadow Magic.
Time doesn't change everything. There's one thing that never changes...
War...
War never changes...
I think people say this because it’s just fun to imagine the universes are combined

It feel very reductive to both universes especially TES with its expansive and metaphysical lore to lump them together
Short answer; no.
Long answer; nooooooooooooo and thats dumb.
NO!!!
Next question
I never understood why Fallout comes after TES.
TES has a clearly defined creation story. For it to come after Fallout, this would need to be all false.
Why can't Fallout evolve out of TES?
spoiler alert: no
Cultures, tactics and poeple change with time but war? War never changes
Edit 1: maybe the skyrim universe is a different timeline who knows
Hello synonymous, I'm the guy that suggested the operation Anchorage trench knife challenge several years ago. You absolutely crushed that challenge and even flexed on me by completing the challenge on very hard difficulty. I just want to say that you've exploded. Your content had captivated 300,000 people in 3 years. Your absolutely killing it and I hope you continue to grow.
Hello there, I appreciate the kind words! Trench knife only was a great idea. It was just challenging enough without it being a total nightmare! And yes the channel has grown quite a bit, all thanks to the amazing ideas people send me so thank you 😁👍
Remember the final boss of 76?
Great video as always thank you for blessing us
My personal theory for the two moons issue is gravitational capture.
I actually mentioned this myself, not long ago, but didn't realize you'd commented it lmao
I would wager it's a lot more common than you're posing, considering most of the moons of other astral bodies within our solar system were likely gravitational captures, but while it is a REALISTIC theory, it doesn't seem like such is the case given the many other differences between the two worlds. However, I'm glad someone else had the same thing to point out as myself!
These two moons are lorkhan's body tho
The gravitational effects on the Earth from this would help explain the continents looking different.
Exactly, all it takes is five minutes of reading on UESP and anyone would immediately realize this "theory" is total crap.
You should cover the comic books of fallout and hubris comics, I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a video like that from you. Keep up the awesome work!
no
It's more likely that the dwemer were exiled into that reality after their experiment with Lorkans heart. And that allowed for minor daedric probing in fallouts reality.
are fallout and the elder scroll in the same universe? short answer no, long answer nooooooo
There is only two Fallout games; Fallout and Fallout 2. So it's not even the same devs or publisher. Easy answer.
It’s just a fun discussion, my guy. It’s not that serious..
Even with the most basic understanding of tes lore you would easily be able to say it’s a different universe
Ow someone stole my irradiated bread roll
Looking forward to more Elder Scrolls content. Both universes are very interesting to me.
Patroling the mojave almost makes you wish for an arrow to the knee
Why? I feel like people who think that are just stretching, and it would ruin both worlds
No.
It is why the joysticks are different. 🏋🏻
There is one think that makes this theory fall apart. Nirn has two moons
This is the stupidest fanfic-y argument I've heard thus far.
Why limit it to those two? Nuka Cola is sold in Wolfenstein: Old Blood. And in my Headcanon the Death Knight from Quake Champions is a Draugr too :D
Didn't the devs say specifically that they arent in the same universe, and that they just loke easter eggs? Shouldnt that be the end of discussion?
Can someone provide me with the primary source of Bethesda denying that Fallout and Elder Scrolls are in the same universe please? I'd like to see it.

And that's not even getting into the crazy amount of lore in regards to elder scrolls lore.
No, they're not. (Still gonna watch the video)
I personally think the connections are just easter eggs by the devs tbh, but the theory crafting is cool none the less.
Awesome content! Thank you! Can you please make Challenge content please
Beliefs can change over time
And for the second moon i have no idea
Normally, I'd say hopefully something this lame isn't the case. But being that bethesda's Fallout is akin to digging up a dead corpse at this point, I really would be surprised if anyone at the company could come up with something better.
100% no. I prefer my TES and FO like oil and water. Better off superior on their own than in some downgraded shared universe. Not everything needs to be connected. It's bad enough that Fallout 4 and 76 are in the same universe as 1, 2, 3, and NV.
Excited for elder scrolls content. Im far more of an elder scrolls fan then fallout. So itll be great to see what you do 😊
In the grand scream of things, it's not unheard of for planets to adopt moons.
