Dope was the song playing in the background when they were hanging out “hooligans” in beginning of the video. Great MV and don’t forget dance practices, another whole set of videos to watch, just like live. You will also get a ton of requests for MMA 2019 (Melon Music Awards). It’s like a whole concert of their own basically (40’ish minutes long) but it’s an awards show performance, and no one can wait for you to experience that one, it’s at the top of most ARMY’s lists of best.

I agree with you about BTS and k-pop. I have listened to quite a few other groups, and enjoy them, but they don't give me the depth of feeling, the diversity and the extraordinary talent that BTS does.
Spot on. I like other groups too; I take a little time to check out new songs or watch an interaction video or two, or check out an award show or dance practice. But other groups are the products of their companies, set up along Successful K-pop Creation Guidelines (except for SKZ), and BTS is the product of Bang-nim throwing out the guidelines and rules and doing it their way. They have a uniqueness and creativity and appeal that others can't readily match. Even just covering their choreos; you watch other groups and they just don't quite have it- not because it's so hard, but because it's not the same team.

So glad you fell down the 'rabbit hole' of kpop! I am 62 years old and discovered kpop about 3 years ago, thru' my granddaughter, and BTS was my introduction! My first song was "Dope" so check it out! You'll love it of course!
I knew about BTS for quite a while before I listened to a single song because of course I assumed I wouldn’t like their music. I was never into boy bands (yeah I’m ashamed I categorized them that way at first). I slept on them for a good couple years without even listening. So a year ago, my then at the time 67 year old mother, who always had a guilty pleasure for boy bands, saw them on a Samsung commercial and loved the song being played (Life Goes On), so she asked me about it. She said they were very handsome Asians, but thought they were just random guys hired for the ad. I was like that must be BTS from South Korea. Of course she had no idea who they were, I said nothing random about them, they are huge, you have just been living under a rock if you haven’t at least heard of them. So I found the ad that she was talking about, it was certainly BTS. So long story short, since my mother is not as internet savvy as me, I helped her learn more about them, playing RUclips videos on the smart TV for her. In that process I got grabbed by the throat (in a good way lol) down the rabbit hole. It’s cool you gave them a chance when your granddaughter liked them.
@@OwnedByKitties I'm always browsing RUclips and I had seen Dope and DNA and wondered if my granddaughter would like the songs. She was in to 5 Seconds of Summer and just coming off of several years of One Direction. Then one day she said she loved BTS...end of story! LOL

Couldn't agree more! All of their MAMA performances are amazing but I kept thinking while watching Luke respond to the official Fire MV that if he really wanted to see what an amazing song it is, he should be watching them perform it live at MAMA. It was electrifying!
That performance of Fire is my favorite one. I watch it all the time lol. While they never disappoint, they just had some extra fire in their belly that night (no pun intended). The whole performance was awesome.

when you say "they look so different, look so young" it hits me how i've been with them for years, watching them, really growing up together, i didn't really notice things like that.
They are still the same dorks, same talents, same hardworking, same good looks, same humble,really nothing has changed even after they became so successful as they are now.
One thing that has changed is, their performances are more honed, more massive, more epics, and it's crazy how they become more modest the more successful and high the flies.

It's done by Taylor Nakamoto and it still says "Draft" status, but it's only because she's left it open for suggestions because it's new. It’s honestly an amazing introduction and so much better than others! It’s a really complete guide that I really recommend

That's it, about BTS isn't it ? There's no one like them, period. Not saying other artists or bands aren't talented or that their music is not cool BUT BTS has that something extra that makes you love them unconditionally! They bring so much more to the table than good music and you'll discover that when you'll get to know their personalities better!
P.S My favorite introduction video is 'BTS member introduction' by Taylor Nakamoto! It's a newer version of this type of video.. it's the most accurate in my opinion, no spoilers and quite entertaining. It really shows the capabilities of each member perfectly and also their personalities as well. It's a bit longer than other videos but it's because it's more in depth. But I promise you it's worth it. It's a really good video!
Their catalogue is sooo vast that you COULD do one daily! You need to learn their names so that you just know-and there are videos that describe them individually. Need to find a few good ones! It showcases their individuality and individual histories and art so well, as well as their group dynamics. It's extremely wholesome and shows how much they love each other. I feel the Ida S introduction is all practical information and nothing about them as people. Like, it doesn't even have a mention of Suga overcoming his past struggles with depression and anxiety, which is one of the most inspiring things about him.

Hey! :D For an introduction, I suggest the BTS Member Introduction by Taylor Nakamoto. It's the most up to date and thorough one here. The creator has listed it as a draft as she wants to go back and emphasize certain things and switch out some clips, but that video will give you information on all the individual members (both in terms of their musical skills and accomplishments and personalities) as well as info on BigHit, their label, itself. Please give it a watch!

Glad to see someone else promoting this intro! Sadly it's more than likely going to be the Ida S intro since so many people are recommending that one. It has none of their personalities in it and I feel that their personalities is part of who they are and what makes them great too, not just the practical information.

It takes massive giga-chad balls to say what you did considering your Kpop audience, but you're 100% right. I've been into Kpop since 1997 and yes, no one does it like them. No one will ever do it like them.
crazy they just performed this song two days ago at their ptd seoul concert and they still have the same energy and passion they did back then. they even switched things up with special concert mix and this 5yo song still sounds fresh as hell. one thing i love about bts is how they're already among top artist but they still keep the fire alive and constantly evolve with their craft. just so amazing

"An Introduction To BTS: 2021 Update" by Ida S is super informative of their talents and skills and where each member fits into the band.
There is an older intro called "Who Is BTS: The 7 Members of Bangtan" which in my opinion still gives you the best idea of their individual personalities and relationship as a group.
And then you have "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On" (2021 update) which is basically a Netflix quality biography/documentary-style vid that does a really good job of telling the story of their formation and overall journey up until mid last year.

Luke!! We all hope you get to do full time RUclips one day :) and there are no better musicians to encourage you to follow your dreams than BTS. Luckily, they have a crazy crazy huge discography and you certainly won't run out anytime soon, especially with all their solo stuff (I think you'll particularly like Agust D). The Rise of Bangtan is AMAZING! It’s ARMY created and is so well done. It’s up to 20 hour long episodes (so far) PLUS bonus content and deleted scenes. It may not be something to react to, but so worth it to learn more.

I have seen most of the intro videos, but the one from Taylor Nakamoto - "Draft BTS Member Introduction" seems more relevant and it highlights the boys' talents and capabilities. Also, the comments of fellow armys will give you more in depth comments too.

Ugh Fire really takes me back of when I was first getting into them. It was my first song from them I ever listened too. I agree that no group is like BTS. I listen to other groups and I like them but they don't make me feel the same way BTS does. They are honestly a one of a kind. I guess it's time to make a channel dedicated to bts now jkjk😂 love the videos.
I've loved BTS since their debut days in 2013 but slowly drifted from them in 2019. Your genuine excitement is contagious and it's like I'm reliving those times through you, so thank you!
You also have to check out their choreography (“dance practices”) and live performances to the songs to better appreciate their talent! The dance practice for Fire is awesome! 💜
I also recommend the Go Go Halloween version of the dance practice to get a good laugh! There’s one by Bangtan Subs to understand what’s happening at the beginning, then watch the Bangtan Bomb for the full dance 💜

Fire also kind of marks a change for them as a band too, certainly Seokjin has said on more than one occasion that Fire (era) was his epiphany, him going blonde was a turning point for him as a person. Up to that point he'd been assigned this specific role by the company, which wasn't him. After fire he becomes what he is today. And I think that goes for all of them to an extent.
And the song really does have a special place in a lot of ARMs hearts.

Yes! Fire is an all time BTS favorite. Suga’s iconic phrase at the beginning “Bultaoreune” means “burn it all up” is Suga’s native slang word in Daegu which also means “let’s hype it up”. Literally this song is that! It gets your mood up every time you listen to it.

The Ida S video has only practical information like how many songs they've each written/produced and the things they excell at etc. If you want that kind of information only then Ida S is great. But know that it has nothing on their personality.

I love your reactions to BTS. Just great!! I discovered these guys not that long ago thanks to my 20 year old daughter. I struggled a lot learning who they are, but I was fortunate to have a very patient daughter. Watch carpool karaoke with James Corden and some of the other late night talk show interviews. I feel like the best way to be able to tell who is who, is to check out a solo song from each of the members. Then you can just focus on one at a time. Not only on their appearance, but their voice. There's a new Introduction video to BTS (2022 updated) by Taylor Nakamoto that you should DEFINITELY check out!!! It is still a draft but is by far the best Introduction I've seen until this moment (and I've seen a lot), it really shows their talents as well as their personalities and also talks about the group in general and the army.
