Natalia’s ability to tell a story with her entire being is absolutely unparalleled in the ballet world. I think even professional actors could learn a lot from her. Truly a remarkable artist & performer.
I watched this ballet last nigh. While enjoyed the first 2 acts, the third act it was breathtaking and left me literally shaking! For me Natalia gave the very best acting through dance I have ever seen! Of course, though I usually don’t like to watch Ballet on a TV screen, seeing her facial expressions, especially her eyes, close up really showed that she is as magnificent an actress as a dancer!
The production was broadcast live to cinemas around the world on 2 November 2016, and over the next few weeks a number of cinemas will show the ballet again as an encore. You can find participating cinemas here www.roh.org.uk/showings/anastasia-live-2016

There were three casts for Anastasia, featuring Lauren Cuthbertson, Laura Morera and Natalia Osipova in the title role. The Osipova cast was broadcast in cinemas.

@NOONE-cd4gu they had sewn jewels into their corsets as no one would check their corsets and hoped that if they'd escaped, they could use the jewels as money.
It's definitely a very challenging role for a ballerina, but not as interesting for the audience. This role has lost it's validity since we know that Anna wasn't Anastasia Romanov. She couldn't have had this vivid memories simply because she hasn't lived this life.
Annabella Escobar I beg to differ. I think that historical roles still hold up, even when they are proved false. Richard III is an excellent example. It is generally accepted that he wasn't even half as evil as Shakespeare portrayed him, and he didn't have the hunchback. Does it make the role of Richard any less interesting? No.
And even, in this case, makes it even more powerful and condensed as a piece about identity: borrowed memories, fantasies, learnings etc slowly becoming your past self, suffering for something, someone that wasn't even you..
It's not a documentary which value is related to being true to the facts. It's a piece of art, consider this a staged novel, which is open to imagination.

Aye I made the mistake if watching it at night and I couldn't sleep afterwards
Antalya Osipova is great in expressive rolls. Did you see her as Giselle performing the mad scene with Carlos Acosta. She is amazing.
If i had millions right now i would take a plane and buy tickets to this show anywhere in the world. Natalia is amazing!
INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE by the entire Royal Ballet company! Natalia Osipova nailed it!!
Such an amazing dancer. No words.
I want to see this show so badly! I wanted to see it in theaters but I had no way of getting there! it looks so beautiful

Should it be 'Osipova' in the video title instead??

what about Laura Morera? Wasn't she supposed to play Anastasia?

Teo Teutza how can you complain when Osipova is on your screen?
Does she wear false insteps? They're always bulging up in a way that's looks enhanced, but then again she may just have impossibly good feet.
great thumbnail
great
I wish that i want to be like she😍
Мне кажется , ставить англичанам балет именно на этот сюжет- это кощунство
:))) Именно для рфских с их трижды латаным сталинским гимном ставить такой балет кощунство.
Абсолютно согласна
