Tons of tomatoes are harvested in just a few hours, it's amazing
thanks Tony, another great video about harvesting in America
The technology from harvesting to production and canning is amazing.
Wow amazing vegetable harvesting technology
Impressed with the strawberry harvesters, they are racing against time
Yes, the amount they receive is proportional to the number of boxes of strawberries they harvested
I was deeply moved by the stories shared in the latest Farming Documentary
Thank you, do you work in agriculture?
Born and raised in California, I am extremely grateful to the fruit and vegetable harvesters here.
I respect farmers, but I have to give the ones in southern California along the Colorado River a big middle finger. Their dumb asses are a big part of the reason Lake Mead is almost empty. Who the fuck thought starting a farm in the middle of a desert was a good idea? It's not.
Similarly born and raised in California, I am extremely grateful to foreigners for how they keep trying to pronounce "San Joaquin."
Thanks to modern machinery and equipment, harvesting agricultural products becomes easier
*Is anyone here currently a farmer?*
Impressed with how they harvest sweet potatoes, with only a modern machine
Me too, but I prefer the NC way of harvesting sweet potatoes
Are millions of celery plants used for post-harvest juice?
Nice sharing my friend stay safe

Yes, nothing is left on the tree when this machine is working
I have never seen this way of harvesting cranberries before
I love chickens!! Especially fried!!
As someone who lives in downtown Las Vegas, I love the atmosphere in these fields
I also live in the city but I often go to the fields to breathe the village atmosphere
Of these agricultural products, I am most impressed with the tomato, it is abundant in the US
Have you ever been to a tomato farm?
And yet import of tomato paste into the USA has risen greatly . We used to grow for Hunts , they closed their plant here . We then went to Heinz and the largest ketchup plant in the USA , they closed and started to import paste .
I am today's years old and am just seeing the magnitude of this production.
I use to deliver produce and I also went and picked up pallets of it in various states it was a very rewarding job

Awesome cucumber harvesting machine, the cucumber farm near my house only harvests manually
The farmers, they worked so hard and hard
How many workers harvest in sweet corn fields in Florida each year

Amazing, I love tomatoes
If I could work in the United States, I would choose to harvest strawberries, I love this fruit
Have you ever been to a strawberry farm?
Pretty cool seeing how tomatoes are harvested
harvesting technology is very modern, with only 3 workers they can pick hundreds of tons
Yes, modern machines already do most of the work
Vielen Dank allen Mitarbeiter/in Kompetenz Arbeitsplätzen haben...............................................................................!
Just give me a couple of tomatoes and a salt shaker and I’ll be happy!
tomatoes are being harvested, it's amazing
Muy interesante planta procesadora de tomate y sistema de recolección.
I used to work for farm produce like this, but we rarely use machines to harvest
Hey Tony, you gave us a lot of information about agriculture in the world's No. 1 country
Thank you, what is your impression of American agriculture?
Whomever wrote this has a 2nd grade education at the highest!!! This is filled with very little information and a ton of BSMSPHD!!!!!!
@@suzanneaufang4976 It's great that you can guess the author's educational background LOL
I like the cucumber field so much, I want to own one too
I live next to a blueberry field in Idaho, they also harvest this way
How much water do we need to water 100 pistachios per day?
Very delicious
I like this work
Have you ever worked as a harvester?
In the 90s I was a sweet potato farmer in Ohio, the harvesting technology now is impressive
At that time you planted some samples of sweet potatoes
There are a few blueberry farms in California, but they harvest them manually instead of using machines
Wow 👌👌👌😮😮😮😊🙏🇮🇳

I don't know exactly which vegetable farm is the biggest here
I grow my own cucumbers and pickle them. I love it. My mama taught me how. I also pickle okra and peppers of all types. Now the one that a lot of people who know me find strange is fried green tomato's. Love them.
It's great to be able to grow your own fruits and vegetables to serve the family
Oh yeah.
I like to pick tomatoes and sweet corn, right where I live they grow a lot of tomatoes
Are the tomato farms near you large?
Why do I have the urge to see how tomatoes are harvested and prepared in the morning?
I live right next to a sweet potato farm but I've only seen them harvest them manually, not using machines like that
What should we do if the harvest workers do not come to the United States next year?
Then we should prepare more money because the price of vegetables and fruits will increase
So interesting many thanks
What kind of crops are you most impressed with?
@@tony98discovery hard to choose any single crop but machine that pulls carrots is amazing.
I also want to have a farm, where should I start
Excellent video, thanks for sharing & God bless! Alleluia! Amen!
Hey Tony, please make a video about agriculture in Alaska
You are right, I will learn about agriculture there soon
How much do blueberry harvest workers earn?
I will buy a tomato harvester next year, my family is going to grow 30 acres of tomatoes
Wow, how many workers does it take for you to grow 30 acres of tomatoes?
Только комбайном, с людьми тяжело работать.
I used to work with some sweet corn farms, I buy corn in bulk there
Have you seen how they harvest sweet corn?
There is a huge difference between ketchup and crushed tomatoes.
Does harvesting pistachios require many workers per acre?
I want to go to California to harvest vegetables and fruits, in Alaska there are very few
I love going to Alaska to harvest seafood
Some sweet corn farms in Wisconsin harvest sweet corn by machine

Good
How many corns are in each wooden crate of sweet corn and how much does it cost?
I think there are about 20 ears of sweet corn in each box
Let me go to the strawberry field to harvest, I won't need to pay
Do you like to harvest strawberries?
As someone who lives in the city, I wish I could own some acres of land to grow vegetables
haha, there will be a lot of work to do if you grow some acreage of vegetables
Actually, I am in a townhouse and still grow green beans, tomatoes, okra and other vegs !! Doesn’t take a lot of room….
@@patk1254 Yes, there are many people who take advantage of the little space to grow vegetables and some climbing plants such as tomatoes, cucumbers to serve the family's eating needs.
As an ex farmer. You don't have a clue. An idealized Disney dream. A few acres means primarily hand, stoop labour since the economics wouldn't support any specialized harvesting equipment, and, no custom harvesters would bother to service you, you'd be uneconomic for them as well. Your response, I grow vegetables on my balcony. Wow. Nothing wrong with doing that, in fact, it's good, but, it doesn't prepare you to grow acres of vegetables. Farming is not the simple life urban apartment dwellers envision. It's highly skilled with a myriad of necessary skill sets, complex multi year planning, trying to predict future ecomic forces, long hours, razor thin margins dependent on unpredictable conditions out of your control, capital intensive, dangerous, I could go on but I hope you see the point. My suggestion is you find a local allotment if you want to grow more. Then see how well you keep up the weeding on 100-200sq ft.
@@jodywhitehead9173 Yes, there is too much to do on a vegetable farm of several acres.
I wish I could work in cranberry swamp, that's my favorite fruit
How do you like the taste of cranberries?
I personally like fresh cucumbers from my garden. But pickles especially dill I hate. Why? I don't know but two items I hate my hamburgers are pickles and yellow mustard. I can "save" my burger by removing the pickles, but yellow mustard once it on the bun I cannot save. I have tried to cover the bun with ketchup, but it is hopeless.
It is not a hamburger without the dill pickles and lots of mustard.
If someone asked me which vegetable I like best, it would be sweet corn, sweet potato and celery
Do you often eat sweet corn?
What makes farm workers like to come to America to harvest crops?
How do you feel about the way farmers harvest their crops?
Money
They make $80-$100 per day here, in Mexico they would be making maybe $20 per day. No one ever said they "like" to come here, they come to make money. Have been doing the same thing for over 70 years.
Need the sensor information that sorts tomato green and red
Strawberry harvesting workers will suffer from back pain if they work for a long time
Are pistachio farms in CA near almond farms?
Yes, a few dr nut and almond farms are close together

How many pistachio farms do we have in CA?
I have no information about the number of pistachio farms there
Most interesting videos
Thank you, have you ever been to any agricultural farms?
I love the part about tomatoes
I am also a person who loves tomatoes, every year I plant 50 hectares of tomatoes
I could have been just fine without seeing the chickens. 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
I wonder what kind of tomatoes they use to make the ketchup.
What if the fields of celery were harvested by machine
How do you see this celery harvesting process?
Every day I see it
15:02 это трактор Беларус. Почему он в Америке??
The tech still needs a lot of human inputs.
You need to take care of yourself. We will always wait for you. I love it though when you are working with the cows….😊😊😊😊
Instead of illegal aliens, farmers should be able to use jailed American citizens to harvest crops. At least, citizens would be getting SOMETHING! I condemn farmers for hiring illegal aliens and ANY foreigner for harvest. Make Americans work!
It will be difficult to control the prisoners. What if they run away?
If you look carefully you'll notice the tomatoes are all uniformly red - whole truckloads with almost no unripe green ones. The only way I know to achieve this is to spray the field with a chemical like glyphosate (which suspected of causing cancer.) But what the hell - it makes harvesting much easier.
they grow a particular variety that they all ripen at the same time. the few green ones are left in the fields.
We use a spray called Ethro , it is a ripener used on many fruits and vegetables. But the harvester also has electric eyes that kick out green tomatoes.
Why would they spray the field with round up.
Actually green ones get left in the field. They are sorted by color sorting boxes. Really cool technology that was missed in this video.
@@andrewleimgruber587 That's reassuring. I would have liked to see it though. To answer your question, beside use as a weed killer, glyphosate is used on wheat, oats lentils, peas, soybeans, corn, rye, triticale, millet, canola, sugar beets and potatoes to make the whole field dry down or ripen at once.
I Googled the sorting boxes.Yes cool.
@@benishborogove2692 …I have been farming for over 50 years and never used weed killer as a ripener . You are being lied to .
There are chemical ripeners available without using weed killer that cost much less than weed killer.
Also ripeners are used very seldom on row crops such as corn and soybeans , there is no need to use ripeners on these crops .
I was wondering,, how much they pay for this works in California, ??? And how long is the work, how many hours, weeks, months etc,,,????
