LYRICS
Do you remember when we met
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you how much I love you
Come with me, my love
To the sea, the sea of love
I want to tell you just how much I love you
Come with me, to the sea of love
Do you remember when we met
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you oh how much I love you
Come with me, to the sea of love
Come with me, my love
To the sea, the sea of love
I want to tell you how much I love you
I want to tell you oh how much I love you

So very sorry! Praying for you🙏
Thats beautiful man, I am smiling in my soul but sad for your loss.
God bless you Wade. In Jesus name. He loves you and your wonderful resting wife waiting for you. Soon. She will be in your arms if you both belong to Him. ✝️

May she Rest In Peace
I met Mr. Plant in Reykjavik Iceland summer of 1970. The entire band was out in the street looking for something Icelandic and my sister and I stopped to talk as we spoke English. We saw them on tour in Maryland 1969 their first US tour. Robert was friendly…we spoke all for about 10 minutes. ❤❤😊
So THAT'S where Immigrant Song was inspired.
I remember when this song came out. Shortly before the passing of my dad. I got a recorder for christmas and Robert was singing this on tv andI wanted to record it. My dad(who had cancer) was enjoying it with me when my mom came into the living room and started talking and my dad shushed her because I was recording. He died a month later but I still have his voice on that recorder ..This song's for my dad..Im adopted and I remember the first time we met. I knew he was kind and i took his hand in mine.
He must’ve been a REAL man. That’s a great story.
A very Special man who had a very Special daughter and the Memories remain great story
made me cry......great story...RIP dad..........xo
Congratulations! Sadly, I dated a girl who got a horrible adopted father. Her adopted mother was great though. But the girl is still a practicing alcoholic at 55 years old.
@@3373-g8zHola Amigo, te recomiendo que vayas con ella a una Iglesia Cristiana. Ellos le van ayudar a seguir el camino de DIOS, y Cristo sanará sus heridas. Solo es FÉ!!!!❤❤❤
My mom and dad played this at their wedding. Dads been gone since 2005 and recently she asked me to play this for her. There is beauty in pain.
Yes

Suena tipo Jonh Lennon
I only recently discovered that Sea Of Love was a cover by The Honeydrippers, the original being written and performed in 1959!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_of_Love_(Phil_Phillips_song)
You played it's a beautiful song and your dad is there.
Oh how I miss that era lord knows how much I want to go back to that time.
Everyone does 😊
This song was popular when my husband and i were dating, in 1984. I can never hear it without being transported back to those early days in our relationship. We are still in love ❤
This peaked at #3 in early 1985 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Funny story: about 25 years ago I saw Robert Plant at the Detroit airport. I just blurted out “Excuse me…” as I passed him, and he got that “oh lord…here we go” look, then I asked “Aren’t you the lead singer for the Honeydrippers?” He got a good laugh out of that and stopped to chat for a few minutes. Robert is actually a very nice man and loves to talk to fans (as long as they’re not insane 😂). Great memory!
He came into my record and video store in Los Angeles a few times in the early 90s. When that happens, it's a real scene... but it's silent. People don't approach him directly. If they recognize him, they just say weird stuff very loudly... hoping to get his attention... but when they do, they avert their eyes and crumble if he says a word to them. I would watch this insane psychological experiment every time he came in and laugh. It's the closest you'll ever get to real magic.
Lo stesso dei Led Zeppelin
Never 🪚 him
Who can’t love Robert?!
As much as I love hearing Plant belt out Zeppelin, his voice is so sweet and still powerful on this one - I'll just never get tired of it ❤️
Yes!
yep...still had the late era zep sound to his voice..

Robert did this song for his Mother. True Story.
She just loved it so he covered it.
You want to say that was dedicated to his mother, because this song was just a cover. ruclips.net/video/lrkNRcyvtF4/видео.html
I was about to ask who convinced him to do this, but I guess moms are always a good reason. 👍
For real?
If that's true that's the sweetest thing ever😍
that explains why he isnt completely in love with himself in this video... I think its possibly the only one!
This song was MADE for Robert Plant's voice!❤His vocals on this- instant chills every time!!❤❤
yes and I love Page's solo. it flows with the song and the tone gives it an island feel.
Robert plant is in a class with Barry gib greatest vocals on whatever song awesome
My girls and myself use to sing this when they were 10 and 8. Brings back wonderful memories. My youngest daughter is in heaven and I still sing it for my Donna.
She will sing a new song, for the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
She's listening when you sing this song
My darling sent me this song 33 years ago when we broke up. Never forgot him, always loved him, and now 33 years later we are back together and getting married.
Awesome story, are you guys happily married now?
That is fantastic!!!
😭
Congratulatuons
AAAAHHH!
My husband dedicated this song to me when we met. We were married two years later. Oh how I miss him. January 2018 he went to our heavenly home. So many memories with this song. Tom, I love you! I miss our motorcycle riding in the summer evenings.
I have been trying to buy the song in ITunes but they don’t have it, could you help me with some info on it? Thanks ❤
I'm so sorry
I’m sorry for your loss 😢
The most important day in my life was the night I met my late husband. We were together over 56 years...lost him 16 months ago. We did have a sea of love.
Thank you Hailey...I am heartbroken
ma'am, don't take this wrong please- I am happy that you had such a long and fulfilling love...for you have accomplished such a rare thing- a long, fulfilling, lovely life together...truly a rare and precious gift! 💓⏳
I say this because...I made so many wrong choices...lost many good gals and women as the years slipped by... they all were ready and willing to stand by me through a lifetime. And because of those poor choices, I am now 55 years old and utterly, completely, despairingly *alone.* Even worse...I have a 15 yr old that I am attempting (and failing) to raise well...all alone. 😞💔
Be well, be gentle on yourself...feel what you need to feel. Loss is hard to bear, I carry that heavy burden daily... 😔
Sorry for ur loss🙏
My condolences , Ma'am
56 years together is fantastically admirable. Hope i can achieve that. thanks for sharing.
I remember this song when it first came out in 1984. Robert Plant is a very versatile singer, one minute he can scream his guts out on a breakneck song like "Rock and Roll", the next he can morph into a 50's teen idol with a cover like this one. Brilliant! :-)
He did an amazing job at the remake! The original was released in 1959 by
Phil Phillips!✌️
Robert has said “the record was cheesy, but sometimes you need a little cheese”. I agree - what say you?
My wife loved this song... She past away 1 month ago...
Today I found this LP on a friends store... And I bought it for her...
I don't know if I will have the strenght to play it... For her... I really miss her
To all the lucky people in this world that has someone to send this song to. God bless your lives. ❤❤❤
I know millions associate Plant with Zeppelin, and for good reason. But damn dude....You gotta admit, this is Robert Plant at his absolute prime. Its just beautiful, no matter how many times you hear it.
Yes
Kenny Barnwell u got that right

Oh yes it's wonderful.
Reading most comments here makes me wish someone would love me like that. I'll guess Jesus it is then. He loves more anyways
Paul, Jesus is and always should be in your heart. You will find that special person. After my second divorce, I had all but given up. Then one day, a few years later, I got "poked" by accident on fb. I had no clue who this woman was. I responded with a poke back. We chatted back n forth for about 5 months. Never knowing what each other looked like. We grew up in the same little town in Nebraska. I had no clue she even existed. She was coming into the high-school as I was coming out. To make a long story short, we've been together now for a little over 10 years now. Married for 3. This is our 3rd marriage each. All the gold and money in the world, won't take me away from her. Best of luck!
Happy 40th Aniversary to this song
His voice is just dripping honey.

I could hear this song a thousand times and still feel goosebumps and butterflies in my stomach ❤️
I usually don't like remakes but here I have to make an exception.
Me too! Since the FIRST time I heard Robert Plant perform it on MTV back in the day!❤❤❤ There is no finer version of this song out there! Robert's vocals have them all beat- hands down! How do you like that cameo of Frank Zappa behind Robert in the Little Black swimsuit?🫠
This is the voice of an extraordinary musician❤ This song is so wonderful!
This was my girlfriend and I’s song when it came out in 1984. Rest in peace Jill
All of these comments are proof of the power of music; and the power of love.❣
The 80s videos gave us an opportunity to see the world that most of us would have never thought possible.
I never knew Robert Plant sang this but he has a great voice for this type of music, love songs. 😮
Yes, his band was the HoneyDrippers ,? Spelling ! Probably wrong. But that was the bands name. Also trying to remember when it was out. 1987 ?? Great sing.
1985 I just looked it up on Google.
Try his song “ In the Mood”. His voice was perfect for these types of songs.
Isn't his voice amazing! 💜💜💜 It's TOTALLY worth checking out his mellow pretty slow songs that he did with Led Zeppelin! My favorites are *Thank You* + *Tangerine* 🍊 + *The Rain Song* ☔🌧️ + *All My Love* 💕 and ESPECIALLY check out *Down By The Seaside* if you don't already know it! Truly A+++++💯💯💯💯💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💜

Xylophone and a man in a speedo.... Life is good
@@leKatzMeow A man who seems to be part of a spirited conversation in his head standing next to a xylophone and in fact wearing said speedo. I suspect he's under the influence of some kind of mind bender.
That's frank zappa in the speedo
That is Frank Zappa
This song was the first song I danced with my first girlfriend Amber. This is also the song we danced when our twin daughters Pascale and Astrid were born. It it unfortunately the song I had to play at Ambers funeral, she was just 37 year old. Amber I miss you my love.
This song brings back such memories to a retired DJ. I'm so sorry for the memories of loss. I understand as I lost my husband of 53 years in January. Life is so difficult with those memories but I just turn my thanks to GOD for the wonderful years he gave us.
In my opinion, Robert Plant has the best male singing voice of all time.
He's my #2 behind Freddie.
Freddie and Steve Perry
One of the scariest and most psychedelic. I agree.
@@debbiem9005Agree. Freddie, Steve and Robert. I would even add Bad Company's Paul Rodgers to be Number Four on this list.
Silly name encompasses like ALL the GODFATHER's of modern rawk!!!!
Love that song.
Jimmy Page on guitar, Nile Rodgers on rhythm, Paul Shaffer on piano
Jeff Beck - guitars ("I Got a Woman," and "Rockin' at Midnight")
Jimmy Page - guitars ("Sea of Love" and "I Get a Thrill")
Frank Zappa on xylophone.
Paul Shaffer? David letterman's Paul?
That's song always sing to me my husband and he told me that is our teamsong...but unfortunately we broke up 20yrs. ago...
@@kjantv3649 yes that Paul
This is what timeless sounds like. This is as good as any music can get. The big sappy production with orchestral flourishes, the female backing vocals, the brilliant crooning of Robert finally recording a 50's cover. Then Page bats cleanup and hits it out of the park one last time. This truly was a high water mark.
ruclips.net/user/travkatz❤️🥰😂
Brillant on your part
I will forever adore his work and his voice. There will be no one like him.
That's for sure !
This is the only song I like from Robert Plant.
A mi me gustan todas, aunque parece un anciano ya ,igual
I think besides his great voice, he will always be the sexiest front man ever!
There's no one like him! 😅😊
Plant can sing anything
What a great version. Of the original. Phil phills. Almost perfect. 11/9/23. Geoff steele. Now. 76. And. Still. Sonds great the sea of love. A pieces. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😅
My SOULMATE sang this song to me in a crowded bar just a few years before she was tragically killed in an auto accident on Christmas Eve. I will never forget you Lesa ..you were my one and only True Love & Soulmate....
one of the finest covers and a true example of robert plant's brilliance as a vocalist. plus, love that guitar solo from jimmy page.
Wasn't Brian Setzer the guitarist at this point?
PotaterBoy
only for a one-time appearance on an episode of "saturday night live" where plant was the musical guest and played guitar on "rockin' at midnight".
aye true
First tone sounds very close to tenor sax, nice irritation, and the 1/2 tone up, simply genious, lovely violines. I was searching for this record many years before Internet (becose delete on tape unfortunately and forgot name) Greatest version i.m.opinion. Thank you Sir! I´m back in m. youth.
Brian Setzer indeed and what a great artist.
As a teen in 1984, this is how I met Robert Plant - as a solo artist. In later years, I discovered Led Zeppelin. It's hare to reconcile the two versions of Plant, but I'm in love with both sides of the leaf! 😘
This was our wedding song. Yep almost 32 years!
This was my wedding song in Sept of 1986. This song I carry in my heart. When I DIE my soul will carry this song into never never land ☮️
it was our wedding song too!! Married 38 years, just lost my love last year 2023..
Plant can sing to any music, a true vocalist.
I thought that I heard this before and so I checked it out and the first band that did this was Phil Phillips and The Twilight's in 1959...
And actually I like both versions equally well!
❤one of the luckiest people to have met Robert Plant, Austin Texas, 2018❤
Hermosa y tierna canción
I have liked this version better than the original since this album came out. I had just met the love of my life, and this became our song. I sang it to her at special moments, usually in her ear so no one else would have to endure my horrific impersonation of Robert Plant.
It was the first time I realized he could also croon. So well done to you, Robert the Gray.
This song never gets old… love it forever 😊
They don't write em like this now! Thanks God for All Gifts & Good music that we're Forgiven to Heaven in our in our Loving Lord Jesus Christ We Shine as One FaithLoveLight Aeternus.Amen. God is All Love

I love this song since the 80s ❤😊
What a wonderful time that was!! Still hoping Robert Plant would call me...sigh.
I don't understand how anyone could hit the dislike button! Maybe their Mom's dropped them on their heads once too many times. The man's voice has gotten better with age!!! I mean seriously people, come on!!!!
When my husband & I were dating this song played on radio everytime we were together, Kind of made it our song that was in 1984. Still together in 2020

Robert Plant, aún vive!!
If Robert plant isn't the best singer ever I don't know who is his voice is to die for
Robert isn't the best singer ever, Freddie Mercury was, I mean, a 4 octave range, could Plant have done that?
@@DougSConfederateHammer you know who was freddies mercury favorite singer....
Yes, Robert Plant.
Roy Orbison...
@@santiagogarciapinto8188 I didn't know that. And Robert said Freddie was much better as a singer than he was. Mercury's voice was beautiful, but I prefer Robert.
@@DougSConfederateHammer you can hit all the notes you want but if your tones shit then who cares, there is no greatest voice as that's completely subjective and the talent to have a high octave range by no means makes you a beautiful or great singer. In my opinion Freddie's voice was too hoarse and his vibrato was ugly while Robert's was much more smooth but hey that's my opinion, if you like those attributes about Freddie than he's your greatest singer. Don't act like your favorite singer is objectively the best in the world. Oh and by the way Robert was voted best singer in rock by planet rock and rolling stones magazine so the majority of subjective opinions think Robert's better so there's that.

This man has always a scary voice.... Great voice. He looks like an angel, a dark angel in reality
Here because the song is referenced in the book "You," by Caroline Kepnes. Born in '86, HUGE Zeppelin fan, never heard of the Honeydrippers before this...
