Nice tastefully curated and well balanced collection. I will swop the Hermes for a Zenith Chronomaster Original, Oris Big Crown Pointer Date or Furlan Mari Sector. The Octo Finissimo is an excellent choice n a future classic
Actually, I'm looking at an Octo L'Originale Chronograph, with the Octo design but an El Primero movement. Sounds like the best of both worlds! Just a question of which watch leaves the watch box....
1.) I think the only caveat for C24 estimates are still 20% or so higher than sold prices found on Moda etc for the popular models....Therefore for the obscure models... it could be overestimated by quite a lot... i own a GP Ref 49460 that chrono has estimated at over US$5K. No one is really purchasing it at even $3k 😂😂😂... Lest people start referring to C24 to complete transactions. 2.) I kept on hearing that you reference to "current retail price" as a barometer to discounting... However, current retail price may not apply to most models you own atm due to many SKUs being updated (ex. 5 digits DJ vs current retail for a 6 digits DJ)... Might be better just leaving this for current iteration of watches like the Ming, Kurono and the Tudor you own. Finally, only in SG would you refer this as a "middle class" collection😂. Overall you spent more than most would on a watch. You should be proud that you have the disaposable income to do so... look at the hateful comment or two when it comes down to money. Happy new year and have a great year ahead in 2024!
Thanks for watching and the comments! 1) Yeah, understand the C24 prices are a bit inflated, but C24 is still perhaps the only objective way to track market value. Anyway, I've discounted the value in the description as well. 2) That's a good point, especially for vintage watches. 3) Haha yeah as mentioned in the video, spending an average of 5K per watch is definitely still significant, but it's also way off from the usual SOTC videos (you know, those showcasing Daytonas, Royal Oak, Nautiluses, etc). Happy new year to you too :)
Your thumbnail should be more eye-catching You need to improve your video title, meta description, and video SEO You need to use more relevant tags and keywords
I disagree. I’m actually happy he is very transparent about it since I hate the snobbery of talking watches without talking price. Because not talking prices creates the illusion that it’s easier than it looks to attain, when in reality it’s not. Obtaining these watches are a challenge. And that challenge and the conquering of that challenge needs to be revealed. I feel it is part of the overall story behind the watch.
To each their own! If you prefer to watch without the prices, feel free to watch my previous SOTC videos, where prices aren't mentioned. As mentioned in the video, I included prices this time around as viewers/readers have occasionally asked me about the prices of the watches I feature in my channel. Sometimes, they assume that the watch is very expensive - for example, the Cartier Tank Jumbo - when it actually isn't. So to @luisjiron8154 point, it's definitely more about transparency rather than any intention of showing off.
Cool collection. It actually has variety. 🍻
Thanks mate!

Talking money is very distasteful 👎
