Big thanks to all the folks leaving positive comments on here about Sterling's experience! That road was no joke and end to end nasty stuff! Thanks for all the props and positivity you guys!
Great work getting that baby out of there! You guys are a Fantastic Team and its so refreshing to see two people who get along so well, work together so well, and last but not least.....Have such a Great time in the thralls of adversity! ❤💪🙏🍻
@@evarupertriding Seems like 8 miles of walking and all this headache coulda been avoided if Eva was there to remind you to switch your fuel tank. As soon as you did it the bike fired right up. Then she cheerleaded you all the way out...WHILE HIKING/RUNNING!!!! SHE should be the one getting the encouragement.
I'm sure you've watched some of Bret Tkacs' videos. His closing line is always 'Smile - because attitude really matters!'. Well, Eva has taken it to a whole new level! It's great to have someone like that to come to your aid in a time of need. Glad everything worked out, and now you have more stories to tell (like you don't have enough already)...
Sterling, so glad you’re Good to Go, thanks for sharing your adventure and being real. Eva is also awesome, I mean how many of us are lucky enough to a partner like her. It was a pleasure meeting you last week and look forward to you sharing your motorcycle/overland adventures again. Keep on keeping on! Salud
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing your story. This is a must watch for every adventure rider. Lots of lessons going on in both part 1 & 2. From Risk Management, following your instincts, using and depending on your skills, and wearing the right gear. Thanks again for posting. #MakeItCOUNT!
I've been watching every day for this video. So glad you're not sick and strong enough to get the bike out. Great video ... the one spot shows how steep the hill was .. close to a 40 degree? I 2nd what others have said, Eva is a jewel! Nice to have that support emotional and physical. Good lessons for us on keeping your head and knowing your limits.
The last two episodes was truly a survival/ rescue mode in a very dangerous desert. Sure am happy all went well and your skills are still intact. Time for a little R&R. Thank you for taking the time to film even when the going gets rough. I know for me when things are not going well, all I want to do is fix it and nothing else, so taking the time to show us what is really going on is awesome! Thank you again!
Eva could run quite the recovery business -- imagine the look on the faces of those stranded folks when she showed up bubbly grinning ear to ear -- that ought to improve your day. Another great video, glad you are OK, thanks for sharing.
Cool under pressure Sterling, your a pro and one of my heros. Just shows how important it is to know your limits and terrain and when to turn around. Thanks for sharing.
I think we all have been waiting weeks for this update. Glad it all went well. I have had my own challenges over the years with my F650GS but nothing as severe as this. Thanks for sharing this magnificent adventure. The Jonquil Motel is on my bucket list!!
Thanks for sharing. Just a good reminder of what being unprepared or overpass our capacity can do. I had a very little walk of shame once and was so mad at myself for not having tought of the consequences of my actions and decisions. Again thank you very much. 🥰
Happy to see you and your bike are home safe. I hope to see a future video of you and the 701 conquering that trail with a friend and when you are more prepared.
Wow, so glad you weren't on your big GS. That bike would probably still be there! Thank goodness for your guardian angel Eva! No better sight than her coming to the rescue!
I watched the ride in last night, and the recovery just now. Wow, what an epic adventure! Glad you made it out safe. Eva is such a great partner, so positive and encouraging. I've been enjoying the channel.
Extraordinary ordeal Sterling! These events truly help folks grow. You’ve clearly got the skills needed in adverse conditions associated with Adv riding. Greatly enjoy your videos and aspire to experience what you do with every video. Thank you!
This video series highlights the very real need to never travel alone in backcountry without a minimum of one night's survival gear. It's all fun and games till you have to leave tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear on the side of the trail. Thanks for posting. Good education.
Glad to see you recovered your bike safely! Job well done! Also, that was great that your gear/equipment wasn't stolen. It gives me a little encouragement that there are still some good people around. Love your channel - thanks for the great work you put into your videos!
Sterling……thanks for sharing the vulnerabilities that we all have riding these motorcycles in remote places. You have probably ridden solo in more remote places than most anyone that I know but this is truly a highlight. Good video.
Great recovery on a very gnarly track that I would think twice on tackling, even under the best of situations. Eva is a gem. Thanks for sharing your humbling experience, to which we can all relate.
Sterling, So glad to see you made it out OK. Sent you a letter yesterday sharing a few self-defeating stories of my own. Adventures like that works on a persons confidence. Best thing for me has been to jump back on on ride. Thank you for sharing and congrat's on such a fine recovery.
By the way I got your letter today. I really appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to write it. It means a lot to me. With age comes wisdom and that seems to be the case for both of us. Ride safe my friend!
Wow, what an adventure! Definitely some gnarly stuff in there! Glad you made it out safe and that you also recovered the bike. And yes, Eva totally kicks ass!
Wow!!! So glad you two made it out! I met Eva at the Overland East Expo in VA this past fall, you two are a power team ! She’s always upbeat and positive, I love the camera angle of you getting out, it put it into perspective how the terrain was extremely difficult and she’s right It never translates well through go pro footage just how difficult trail rides truly are! Thanks for sharing
Wow that was epic. Respect for your perseverance! And the smart acting on that dehydration in the precious video. Glad you came out in one piece 👌🏻💪🏻👍🏻 I really love your video’s
That was an ugly situation, and ugly loose, steep terrain. Eva's help and attitude was a big portion of the rescue. Glad you're safe. Be safe in future rides and adventures.
I have been checking every day waiting for you to post this video. Hope you now see what I meant "the road was shouting at you to turn around" my god it looked even worse when you show the way back. All good glad it ended well and you are both safe. Onward and upward. I think it's great that you have the balls to show the shit as well as the happy times.
The irony is you will never remember the beautiful 70° day, but you will always remember the most adverse weather and situation’s you get into. Stay safe buddy.
Sterling, you're a tougher man than I'll ever be. Glad you made it out okay. Thanks for sharing your adventure. I think another visit to The Jonquil is in order.
I was on the edge (of my motorcycle seat!) waiting to hear that you guys got the bike (and yourselves) out of there okay! Breathed a sign of relief to see the van! Whew! Glad you're safe!
Happy to see all was well in the end. I like your videos Sterling, you aren't afraid to show your vulnerability, that you know when its too tough to go on, but you give it a good crack anyway and that's what its all about. I'm no super rider at all, quite novice even though have been riding for some years now, I know when something is beyond my skill level, but like you, stop and assess the situation, get your nerves under control and have another crack. Great to see Eva supporting your challenges. Safe travels and love the content you produce. Such spectacular country to ride in

So glad you got her out Sterling, and bringing Eva’s help made all the sense. Many smiles for a successful retrieval. Great job team!
Great job getting it out. What an adventure!
Eva is fantastic. Cheery and positive. Wish she could market that attitude to some people I know!
Yes!! Thank you!
. Was worriyng….. glad to have you back Sterling..
Same here.
I was literally holding my breath until you came down that mountain, Sterling. What raw footage. Eva’s the best.
Yeah me too! Eva is just great to travel with!

Nothing better than the support of a great woman!
Glad you made it.
That was a tough one.
Your girlfriend has an amazing attitude.
I think so too - thank you!

Awesome recovery, hermano! Thanks for bringing us along. I was sweating bullets along with you. That was insane.
Hope I didn't make you sweat too much! Thanks!
What an amazing couple! Miss you both!

So glad you and Eva were able to rescue the Husky - great teamwork you two!!!!
So thankful that you survived this ordeal Sterling! Bikes can always be replaced. What an amazing, positive person Eva is.... you're blessed! :)
Nice to see you back Sir !

Eva is amazing. A lesson to all. Joy in the midst of adversity. Glad you both are safe. The desert can be a harsh mistress.
Dude that was brutal riding, but you did it. Nice to have someone to help you out!
Yes it was!
Glad you didn't get hurt out there. Riding solo in those conditions is no joke.

Great to have you back mate, glad to see you got your bike back 💯
Truly great adventures sometimes suck at the time, but are epic to relive again and again once they're over. Well done.
Good stuff. Glad you got back safe with new lessons, experiences, and wisdom in hand.

Thanks for sharing this valuable lesson. Now when I’m riding solo I’m extra careful.
1)Glad it recovered it safely. 2)Your girlfriend rocks.

Riding rocks like that can be frustrating to learn. Fast, but not too fast. Slow, but not to slow. Glad you got out. Eva is a Gem.

Thanks 👍 I wasn't too worried about the gear as I was pretty sure nobody was passing through and if they did, I would be at the other end anyways.
You are so lucky to have Eva and lucky to be alive!
True on both accounts!
Sterling……thanks for sharing the vulnerabilities that we all have riding these motorcycles in remote places. You have probably ridden solo in more remote places than most anyone that I know but this is truly a highlight. Good video.

Did I miss something? Since the bike started up easily, and you did ride it out yourself, why did you leave it there in the first place?
