I should get mine tomorrow, thanks for this great instructional video! I found out too late that the decked system is not meant to handle any concentrated loads - like a person standing on it (WTF). The boastful 2000# rating is for evenly distributed loads only which is one of the reasons I bought it. A little but misleading to say the least. They advised me to use a plywood sheet over the surface but of course to use the ammo cans as structure you'd have to cover them. I plan to look at the center vert and maybe bolt a couple of load bearing plates on either side flush to the bed and deck bottom without interfering with the drawer movement, then take two panels 60" by width of Deck surface /2 so that each lays along the center vert and uses the two outside corner supports. This way I can lift the half panel to access the ammo cans if needed. Easier to lift out as well. They should sell a panel that distributes the load, or beef up the center vert and rear corners. The ammo cans seem pretty stout. .02
I think they are a great accessory. It would be awesome if there was a half deck option, and/or a modular topper option that indexed in towards the cab and you replaced a drawer with a flat slide out at the lowest point of the bed for items such as, electric fridge units, dog boxes, buckets, and still utilize a portion of the deck and drawer system. As mentioned below it will work perfect for those who need the organization, but some of those will still be concerned with the sacrifice of bedside height.
We agree, you do loose a lot of bed space for two drawers. This will be perfect for those who need the organization of a drawer system over the bed space.
I just can't get over how much space you lose. it would make so much more sense to have one large drawer with dividers. I want one, it's a good idea. But the loss of space is just too much for me.
what are your thoughts of the Decked system compared to something like the Truck Vault? I'm trying to find a good storage solution to keep my camping gear in year-round but still retain actual bed space/functionality under the canopy I've installed.
Unfortunately, we encountered that it was hard to get to the outlet after the decked was installed. We thought that an extension would become helpful, but there is still limited spaced to connect the extension.
What the heck happened at 5:00? Was there a point to fully assembling everything on the floor before magically switching to assembling it inside the bed of the truck? I'm confused.
The top was only put on it to hold everything in place as items are being installed. Then pull the top panels off and set the center assembly into the bed and start reassembling.

We thought the same thing. A half deck option will allow you to get the drawer storage while still utilizing the versatility of a truck.

We haven't tried the Truck Vault yet.
Does this allow for the use of the beds 120v AC outlet on my Gladiator?

The average DIYer should be able to install it in a few hours. It's not tough to do, just lots of pieces to put together.

how much weight can I have on top of the decked drawer system after installation?
2,000 lbs. capacity on top.
@@northridgenation just make sure you put that three-quarter inch plywood sheet on top of it to fully distribute the weight.
so you sell this on single drawer, instead of two? I still want to toss my SUP, Kayak, Bike etc on the other side of the truck bed.
Unfortunately they only do the double drawer set-up at this time.
