excellent video! does the tip of the tongue change position when producing the Z sound? thanks

The mouth position for both S & Z are exactly the same. The only difference is whether there is voice or no voice included with the sound.

Is the ending "s" in "months" pronounced as the "z" sound by some native English speakers? I find that "s" is often pronounced as the "z" sound simply for the reazon that it's easier and less ambiguous, e.g., month vs. months.

Good question. I've never noticed this with native American English speakers. Take a listen at youglish.com and see what you hear.

Thanks. There are very few words that start with Z that are.

Zoo isn't a common Z word but since Z words are so uncommon in beginning of words, she mentioned it.
