Hey not sure if youll see this six months later but wanted to give some added ideas for this really fun deck: junk winder is basically another combo enabler along the same playlines of opposition and court street denizen. The new Jurassic park card "Don't move" was specifically tailored to this deck. And a personal favorite that has been REALLY over performing for me lately is Elvish mariner. She makes it that whenever you scry, you can tap down a number of creatures equal to the Scry, and you scry one whenever it attacks, so when you have Hylda out, you attack with the mariner to tap down a creature, activate the scry 2 and draw a card, which triggers the Mariner to tap down two creatures which then triggers hylda again, and you repeat the cycle for as many mana as you want or until someone interrupts the loop.
3:57 Opposition is a combo piece alongside Hylda and Ashnod's Altar. You can tap your 4/4 token to tap an opposing creature, then sacrifice that tapped token to Ashnod's Altar to gain 2 colorless mana. You can then tap the new token to tap another creature down, then spend one of your two floating colorless mana to create a new token. You can keep going until you have a sizeable field and all of your opponents' creatures are tapped down. Immediately after the untap step of each opponent's turn, you can redo the combo to tap down your opponent's creatures before they move into their upkeep step, essentially keeping your opponents' creatures locked down, and by the time it gets back to your turn, you'll untap a bunch of 4/4 creature tokens that can swing in for free.
@@AbsoluteCardboard Fair! This particular combo isn't infinite, FWIW. It only goes on as long as your opponents have untapped creatures. You can get around this with something like Intruder Alarm, which would untap all creatures when a creature enters the battlefield, but avoiding infinite combos is also fine. Just thought I would mention it, for both you and anyone else that comes across this video. Thanks for the card ideas!
Nice video, you've sold me on Hylda. I really like Limited as a format and unfortunately the UW archetype in WOE Limited just doesn't feel that strong (aggro's very strong and UW lacks bombs to respond to BG), but there's a couple gems from the rest of the set to go well with this preview. I can rest content that if I do pull a Hylda and play a UW tapper deck, I can then have a new EDH deck to build after. Sharae of the Numbing Depths and Bitter Chill are super - Sharae is going to up your card draw and Chill can be card draw of its own as long as you can hold a mana up.
I think when Hylda was first spoiled Sharae was not yet spoiled. By the time she was I was pretty deep into production and the list was pretty locked. Though she is really good here and will probably make her way into the deck.
Have you considered Victory Chimes for your mana rocks? It costs 3 mana, which normally puts it firmly into the "Do not play" camp, but what's neat about this card is that it untaps during each other player's untap step, meaning that you'll always have at least 1 mana up for Hylda's triggered ability on each opponent's turn. It also gives you a little bit of political power, as you can give your opponents that 1 colorless mana so that they can cast cards that hurt your opponents more than they hurt you (board wipes when you're already behind, etc).
I actually did, and would say its like card 105. One of these days I may just force myself to run it to see how real world applications go instead of it all just being theoretical in my head.
I play against a lot of token decks at my locals which she does really well against. Icewrought Sentry, Verity Circle, Solitary Sanctuary, Rhoda, and Gideon all put in a ton of work. I tended to avoid destruction and focus more on just tapping enemies at instant speed during their combat phase (before declare attackers). If you can mass tap a bunch, then you can just swing for lethal. I’ve gotten Icewrought sentry to 80 power in one of my matches lol.
Icewrought Sentry is VERY good. I misread it initially and by the time I actually understood the implication I was too far into the production of the video to make a change.
That is a good pull. I'm not sure I would still run it, I don't really like relying on someone attacking me when I have this in play. It seems pretty obvious, BUT they're going to have to attack you at some point usually.
Was definitely in consideration, I ended up shying away from Tap All Creature type effects more often than not, but I think a few more might be good to help with alpha strikes.
Sorry, for the late reply, but I think it would. Though I don't know that I would run it since they can just remove that creature and you are out the card, but maybe if you have it for an untap combo you run yourself, and it just happens to be able to tap an opponents creature.

Don't know if they saw it, but I did. Thanks so much for the mariner tip, that looks hilarious
Bruh I just built this deck and completely overlooked Mariner, I completely forgot Hylda scrys, tyvm dude!
You’re really good at this dude. Subbed
This was a great video! As soon as I saw Hylda, I knew my favourite mechanic in the game was ready for its commander!
Same here!
I like your mouth words good man you make quality content around magic and I appreciate that
Algorithm brought me here, your content got me to subscribe. Great stuff my dude 👍🏾
Awesome, thank you!

I considered Infinite combos but that’s really not my style. Because I don’t like winning lol

Add drumbellower to this combo.
Nicely done. I like your take on this deck. Well explained and interesting card choices.

New video! Hell yea! Love that sexy smooth voice. ;D
Your guides are fun to watch, be it deck related or something to do with organizing cards etc.
I'll pushy the "sexy" slider for the audio all the way up next time lol

Glad I found this channel good stuff
Appreciate the support!
Best part is all the gems that are not on edhrec
Don’t leave us in suspense
@@anthonybalista7421 just watch the video what do you mean - why are you here just to comment?
For utility lands I recommend detection tower and arcane lighthouse, since this deck runs a lot of targeting effects
That's just the correct move. Definitely an oversight on my end.
Hylda is great with all those historic tap/utap blue flyers. awesome.
With "special" lands I liked the Ice Floe alot. It worked quite well the last time I played it with Hylda

Great video - It seems like your moxfield link is broken 😊🤘🏻
Oops! Was still private! Should be fixed now!
Awesome video!!
Glad you enjoyed it
You need an Agatha deck to complete the set!
Check out the spell Blustersquall.

Would "Freed from the Real" work with Hylda's tap ability?

@@AbsoluteCardboard I appreciate the feedback, thank you!
Should have put willbreaker in there
But if I take all the creatures, who would be left to tap?!?! You are probably right.
freeze yourself outta your LGS or friendly commander play-group
4:22 Hammers of Moradin only causes one tap. The tokens were never declared as attackers so they don't trigger the tap on attack ability.
Kind of, the initial Hammers of Moradin triggers a tap for each opponent.
@@AbsoluteCardboard ah. Reading the card explains the card. Haha
Opposition is the best card in the deck
Despite my initial doubts, I'm going to be inclined to agree with you.
Definitely far from the best commander from eldraine
