I really love how they decided to just simply set everything up concert-style and then as simple, just used 2-elevated boom microphones to catch the sound.

Pink Floyd was a incredible band. Yea we need to be very aware after TRUMP leaves office in four years. God there’s no comparison at all to the perfection of this song. Live in Pompeii was a master piece and the best versions of each of these songs ever recorded. If I were to choose a soundtrack for my life, “Live in Pompeii” would be it.

They're really cleaned up the amphitheater since then--there aren't huge piles of dirt, a dirt floor, or vegetation anymore. Of course, they aren't letting people do concerts there anymore, either. Nick Mason's band ("Saucerful of Secrets") will be playing nearby this year, but they couldn't play in the amphitheatre.

Consider that the whole song derives from three arbitrary notes and then it develops to a super nova. Amazing peace of music.

this appears to be from a new source than the old dvd scan (the one the oldk upscaled video was based of), the source quality looks amazing!
and this material is edited and cut differently.
example: 10:09 Richard Wright just starts playing another instrument here, while in another version of this "concert" he is seen getting up from behind the electric keyboard and sitting at the out of tune piano.
