Nick Mason's band ("Saucerful of Secrets") will be playing nearby this year, but they couldn't play in the amphitheatre.
Just saw David Gilmour live tonight 11/5 at MSG NYC. 2nd time in my life I have seen my guitar hero. Amazing performance. No Echoes (though I finally saw Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets band play it couple years back) which is why I came here after.😂 The thing that always gets me is the pan out at the end. It is almost like the camera man knew that Dark Side of the Moon was coming. The pan out is surreal with that magnificent organ part taking us home. You almost sense by how they shot it and how marvelous Echoes is as a song something big and historic was on the horizon. Of course the video that was released includes the studio recordings of Dark Side but that was cut in later. Here is this band on the cusp but performing at an empty venue that should have been including fans if not for a botched handling of the tickets. No one knew at the time though that Dark Side was coming but you almost feel like the camera man as they were shooting that masterpiece's ending knew something was about to take off into music legend status. Magnificent visual and music. Pink Floyd at their very best.
No matter what the techno was, those guys were unique. They gave us, teenagers back then,the fuel to be what ever we wanted and to fantasize about a world of love and peace witch is not the case in our days, be aware of that future of yours…❤
