Good presentation. For clarity you should draw the X & Y axis on the plan. My I ask why you have chosen the stronger axis ( Y-Y ) as your bending axis instead of weaker axis X-X which is more critical?
Thank you for making this video, very helpful but according to IS 13920 - 2016 CL.NO. 13.3.1 formula you use which is given in ANNEX A are not applicable for structural wall with boundary element. please suggest procedure to do it correctly.
Sir, Have you used ETABS 2017, The boundary Element check section gives a lot of combo loads only while IS codes (Ductile Detailing) refers to IS: 456-1978 for Muv. Also states vertical loads as per dead (all) combo max. (Usually in my case, Dwal1) and seismic as per given combination as explained by yourself. Emitted IS:456-2000, And ETABS gives Pu larger value than all dead max. combo value. Confusing and which one to use. Please.
Pls tellhow to calculate (dl+ll) and moment and shear and earthquake load in real building (residential building) and request to upload quickly... Bcz one project is bending
bro i have a doubt in this video 23:03 you mentioned that the total area is sum of boundary element area and the wall area and my question is if the boundary element is not provided what to do in calculating flexural capacity of web
substitute the values of λ, Ø, β, ... in equation of IS 13920, Annex A, case a, you will get 0.038 or 0.031 (because he took fck as 25 here, dont know why) then multiply it with fck*lw2*tw
Sir, you have calculated 12 no of 32 mm bars in BE but provided 8 no of 36 mm bar.... And it is violating cl 7.4.2 of IS 13920( 2016)...as the spacing b/w longitudinal bars is getting more than 300 mm
this presentation helps me alot during my exam..........thnku once again sir😊
did u find the pdf?
You are welcome aman kumar
So nice neat and clear explanation,if possible make alectuer of shear drift ,displacement, and so as soon.thank u.
God bless you!
Thank you
Very good example with nice explanation... but there can be conceptual explanation, so anyone can got the actual concept of shear wall deaign.
Good presentation. For clarity you should draw the X & Y axis on the plan. My I ask why you have chosen the stronger axis ( Y-Y ) as your bending axis instead of weaker axis X-X which is more critical?
Also it seems like the origin is in a boundary element!.
Thanks for this vedio...
Please can you send the design of C shaped shear wall...
I will update it soon sneha shree
Very helpful video and explanation👍 Sir can you please share coupled shear wall design or from where I can get the one?

How did you get Ast provided = 628 mm2
please make a video for design of coupled shear wall

Upload more vdos regarding structural designig
Yes sure Aslah aslu
Thank you sir
U are using older version of IS 13920 I think, not 2016
Also, how is the moment of inertia for this section calculated?. where is the major axis taken?. I am confused with the 'I' calculated here.
Sir is this just the same designing process for ACI 318-19 ?
From where do we get the equation to calculate Muv?

sir please can you do more videos
Sure. Thank you
how you find out the 12 no.of bar of 32 mm dia plz elaborate
Sir how the impact of lift will act on shear wall?
12no of 32 mm bar not reflected in figure
i would like to learn the shear wall calculation( wind forces ) so could you please send the any links...
can you please share your ppt in the description, would be of great help
Sir i need uniform thinkness shear wall design dobu have that lecturer
Asv/Sv = 628/1000 here Sv=1000?
But spacing cant be greater than 450 right?
Dear sir, can you please tell me what is the maximum percentage of steel in the shear wall. Minimum percentage of steel in the wall is 0.25 %
Maximum percentage of steel in shear wall in 4%
@@somilkhattar5034 Max % can be 6% if it can accomodate.
How calculate seismic moment
any excel sheet to design shear wall
It was too blur
Not good
