Abandoned city with a *few* kidcore elements. Then in the back there will be an overgrown forrest. I’ve got most of my villager homes in the forest.

My island theme is Japanese old 1960’s town/countryside! I found this really helpful! Beautiful island tho!

@@kristal6658 Well, no, actually! My Island is very suburban feeling, small town feeling. Some cute kid core areas, but I have a huuuuuge lake, and a bunch if cute little sitting areas. And a little cottage core section I'm working on filling up now!

Clever use of items to make the buildings look a bit more in-depth. I wondered what those 2 items at the front were. Didn't think of fireplaces!

I'm going to be restarting my island soon and going for a CityCore aesthetic. I'm specifically basing it off of Seattle in the States and Victoria, Canada, and I can't help but notice that your town looks super similar to what i'm going for!

I made my island Ravello inspired essentially by the broadway film and award winning play, Sweeney Todd the demon barber of Fleet Street. But it has that Victorian London kind of feel to it, a little bit more gloomier or somber. Before I even began building, i used reference photos and spent hours trying to pin point custom designs I would like, so I could try to display a variety of different buildings but still within the same color scheme or muted neutral or slightly earthy tones. Also my DA is 4254-2269-1673 but as an artist an ex interior design major. I would definitely share this, perspective is so important. Try playing around with different angles and view points because by doing this you can not only make a piece feel less completely geometric and flat feeling, but you can bring it to life and create the illusion of two-story buildings and more. Consider the idea of implied space and implied lines used throughout your island layout which can also play into illusionistic perspective. Essentially tricking our minds to create lines and pieces that aren’t completely there. Details are so important, and be really open minded when it comes to utilizing different items. Items that you wouldn’t normally use as it would not on paper go with your theme can be used to create structures and lots of important details. Be super creative and play around with items and how they go together or next to eachother it can make a huge impact!

Very helpful video. I'm trying to recreate my original town from the gamecube animal crossing, so obviously there are some buildings like the train station that don't exist in acnh. I'm still looking for amiibo cards for some of the villagers I need too (no way am I looking for them with nook mile tickets lol)
