Oh nice work! I really like the carbon fiber. My first medium format camera was a Goodman zone.

Gonna be honest.....saw the title....then looked at the profile pic for the channel and I said to myself...."Damned right, you built the sh*t outta that camera." 😂😂😂

Hope you adjusted the flange distance for the Mamiya Press lenses. The first Dora prints were off and resulted in never hitting infinity. And created a lot of versions and fixes available on Discord, Facebook groups, etc. Have fun with it.

Good to know. The test shots is the only roll of film I’ve ran through it, but they turned out fine. Maybe they fixed this issue with the current download or maybe I haven’t shot enough to see the problem yet. Thanks for letting us know and I’ll definitely keep this in mind. 👍

The Goodman zone was my first medium format camera. I used it for about 6 months. Very fun project.

It’s very cool watching it come from the 3D printer to taking your first images. I love it!

Great vid man, just wanted to comment to mention you forgot to add ur end screens. I love the look of that first stormtrooper version 😍

Thanks so much! I appreciate that! Yeah, I used a different video aspect ratio and didn’t know until afterwards that it wouldn’t allow an end screen.

I once borrowed this setup a few weeks. Very admirable idea, and probably will built myself one. Nevertheless, I saw at least one issue with the camera: not seeing directly through the lens = parallax error, so you need to counter it, e.g lifting the camera a few cm higher after framing (assuming on tripod). In general, shouldn't be an issue for typical landscape or travel photos.
But for doing close up/macro shots? Well a bit challenging. SLR is way much easier.

Agreed, but for me, this type of camera is for fun. Kinda like a pinhole or plastic camera. It’s definitely not something you’d use for a paid gig. And I love the idea of people developing new film cameras. Building something new and mixing it with something old. That and it’s beautiful and fun to build.

Would also work fine for street photography. Cropping on medium format is kinda why medium format, for me anyway.

@@camerafusion This is not a major criticism, though. As a TLR user, I still experienced parallex error sometimes. Oh well :D

That isnt a problem unique to this camera, all rangefinders have the same issue. They still sell though because people figure out how to compensate.

I thought Dora got out of the business, etc....and closed it down?

That’s sad to hear. If she did, her website is still up and operational. Looks like the open source projects are still available.
