    6:11 why is it not transitive when 2,3 already exist

      You are right! There is a mistake in the video, (2,3) is in the set. But still the relation is NOT transitive because if you take (3,2) and (2,3) then (3,3) should also exist in the relation for it to be transitive and (3,3) is absent. Thanks for pointing out the error though!

      But why it is wrong? (3,3) is not required, (2,2)is the required one for second checking which is already present in the relation, therefore it is transitive.

      @@venkatesh2k5 wait wait wait if u take (3,2) as ab then bc will be (2,3) and (2,2) and in the first case ((2,3) one) ac should be (3,3) and to be transitive it should have (3,3) and for the second case ((2,2) one) ca should be (3,2) which exist
      so therefore it should have (3,3) as well to be transitive

    sir in the practice test there was question, if A={6,7,8} R={(6,6),(6,8),(8,6)} check if it is transitive
    according to the answer given it is transitive but according to me on checking the last pair (8,6) i.e a,b then b,c is (6,8) but then a,c is (8,8) which does not exist in relation so it is not transitive. pls help me if there is a mistake

      Must be a mistake. Order of elements is irrelevant in sets, so in this case there should be both (6,6) and (8,8) as elements to make the relation transitive. At 3:58 and 13:04 the guy in the video talks about relations similar to yours which he, unfortunately, didn't explore as much as you did. Great observation btw

    sir question 5 mein Transitive na hone ka karan (2,2),(2,3) => (2,3) nhi balki (3,2),(2,3) => (3,3) hai as (3,3) is not in the given relation.

    What if R={(1,1) (2,2) (3,3) (4,4)} is this a transitive relation ?

    • @unidentified2810
      @unidentified2810 6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes bro this is the transitive relation bcz of a property that says that if there is no b,c of that element they by default called transitive exactly like symmetric relation.
