Hi Sven, totally excellent tutorial and demonstration BUT I have to agree with Viktor, I've played your shots in super slow mo and none of them get to the 2o'clock position. On contact your racket is consistently at a 50/60° to your body with handle pointing towards feet (4/5oclock) producing slice. Surely a 2/3oclock contact will produce topspin/side spin, not slice. Confused of Britain!!😁 help!
Thank you Paul! The two o'clock is more when you play on the right side. When you play on the right and you want to play to the side wall or corner you have to hit the ball slightly more in front of you. The technique of the vibora will change depending on where you want to play the ball. So I think, it is more a reference to hit the ball 2/3 o'clock. The bal just needs to have side spin. You will not produce top spin if you prepare just as high or higher as the ball. It really depends where your racket is coming from. Did I get your answer correctly? It is a little bit confusing to me. My mind is more on the result of the ball. If it has sidespin the goal is achieved.

Great Video Sven! One question, you state that a vibora should be hit at 2 or 3 o'clock. If the ball is hit at 2 o'clock, don't you risk putting a little bit of topspin on the ball which makes the ball to bounce more. Should you not aim to hit the ball at between 3 and 4 o'clock and 3 beeing the perfect spot?
Thank you Viktor! That is a good question! I think it depends on where you want to play the ball. If you are going to play to the side wall first you can hit the ball higher and more on the top. You can also play to the fence. If you hit two walls with your vibora the ball be lower anyway. I agree that 3 O'clock would be perfect. The ball might have topslice when you hit it at 4 o'clock, because then the racket will come underneath the ball too much. There are players that are able to do that pretty good, they hit the ball very thin. That makes the ball spin a lot and that is very difficult to half-volley and will bounce strangely of the wall.
Como siempre un excelente video, didáctico a la par que divertido. Hacía falta un buen canal de pádel en inglés para ayudar a aquellos que empiezan a jugar y entienden los tutoriales en español.
The Vibora is by definition a high speed stroke. Anything else, such as the lower speed side spin stroke you suggest, can be called anything else, but not a Vibora. Viboras are tipically played crossed for that specific reason. Furthermore, the high speed and lack of vertical angle demand a "longer court", as defined by profesor Jorge Nicolini.
Thanks for your comment! Did you watch the entire video? I am suggesting to play the shot crosscourt, and I am focusing on the side spin. To show the difference between a vibora and a bandeja. And I think padel is changing a lot. I get the definition. I think if you play deep cross with your vibora it gets volleyed much easier. Especially when you play against good tennisplayers. So you need to be able to play a slower one to the center and also one before the line.
@@OtroNivelPadel muchas gracias!!!! Estare a la espera...también busco.las dejadas...me cuesta muchísimo...porque mi.movimiento hace un giro completo hasta atrás y ya veo en los tutoriales que no, pero es que no me sale ni de casualidad, jejeje, gracias de nuevo,
One thing I really don't understand in most of padel teaching videos is the explanation of the contact point on the ball. You said it should be around 2 o'clock but pausing the video on your execution it's clear you're contacting the ball around 5-6 o'clock. It's like from other perspective or how is this meassured?
The elbow of the smash should be 90 degrees. The biggest difference is the racket. For the smash, the racket preparation is much lower. Meaby you can have look at the smash video I made two months ago. The elbow is hight is around the head with the vibora and bandeja, the only difference is that the vibora has sidespin and the bandeja has backspin.
You are the best teacher in the word!

Love your videos. Besides that they are funny I actually find them really useful.
As a lefty I will try to hit the ball at
10 or 9 o’clock, right?
Thank you Michel! Glad to hear that! Yes that is correct!

Great!!only one question? I was told to change a little bit the grip versus a eastern backand when hitting the vibora...do you agree?
Thank you! Yes I agree!
Muito legal como sempre. Apenas ficaria legal adicionar uma legenda em português
Obrigado!
Thumbs up as soon as I watched that intro
Thank you Simon! 👏🏼👏🏼 Glad you enjoyed
Muy buenos los videos... hay posibilidad de que haya subtítulos en español?

I think I am talking about where to hit the ball. Infront of you would be 12, and slightly forward next to you would be 2 O clock.
Grazie Sven :D sei un grande !
Tnx Sven :D u’re top
Molto bene! Grazie!
so.... in preparation.... low elbow for kicksmash, high for bandeja and
balanced for vibora (more or less) ??
