I'm sorry... "I remove all magic. Even memory's of magic". *ALL* magic... Did Anna have her own magic, or her potential for magic, removed to save her life? Maybe in the next movie, that's part of the focus, Anna unlocking that magic within her?

Not a bad theory, but I don't think Anna has ever had powers or will ever have powers. I just think what he meant is to remove all memories along with Elsa not doing magic around Anna.

I just realized that you could argue that Elsa & Anna are suffering from PTSD. Yes Anna should have her memories restored and yes she should continue pursuing restoration of her memories. I would, if I was in her shoes.
Hopefully this storyline will be revisited in Frozen 2.

You know, if Anna never had her memories wiped, none of this Frozen mess wouldn't have happened. Knowing Elsa's powers from before, she could help cope with her sister, help, support, and love her along the way, that would thaw things faster, but no, they decide to restrict her from remembering Elsa's ice powers, and restrict her from seeing Elsa, now that's messed up. Their parents and the rock trolls were better than this

But I just had an idea.... the line Grand Pappy said was “I recommend we *remove all magic* ,even the memory of magic...” Which raises the question... what other magic than memories did Anna have? Was there something else than the memory of Elsa’s snow magic that was taken away? What do you guys think? Am I forgetting something in the movie...?

I think its logical to assume that if magic removed Anna's memories of that tragic moment when Elsa's magic struck her, those memories could also be restored. We see in shows like Once Upon a Time for example.....they did a storyline on the Frozen characters and Queen Gerda (Elsa and Anna's mother) goes to Grand Pabbie after a tragic twist of fate causes one of her sisters to die and the other one (Ingrid....who also has ice magic, like Elsa and who killed her sister accidentally) to be trapped in a magical urn. Queen Gerda asks Grand Pabbie to remove all memory of her sisters from the minds of her subjects in Arendelle to keep the truth of their fate a secret (much like he did to Anna when Elsa's magic injured her). When Ingrid later comes to Storybrooke as the villainous Snow Queen she initially curses the town with Shattered Sight and tries to take Emma and Elsa as her new sisters because they both possess magic, but she finally admits she was wrong, and just before she dies and is reunited with her sisters, she asks her nieces (Anna and Elsa who are reunited in Storybrooke) to return home to their kingdom and restore the memories of Arendelle's people so the truth will be known. If that can happen, surely Grand Pabbie can restore Anna's memories too. After all, it was just an accident and I think the truth being revealed will allow the sisters to truly heal and find peace.....especially Queen Elsa.
And I just have one question.....in the movie Frozen, Elsa recreates Olaf WITH HER MAGIC during the song Let It Go.....and when Anna and Kristoff run into Olaf....Anna RECOGNIZES him. How did she recognize him if Grand Pabbie removed all magic and even memories of magic from her mind.....if Olaf was created with magic?

Watso, I honestly love all of your skill with all tbe high level analysis you manage to insert to these theorys, and I have a small theory that's been on my mind for months now over the popular musical named 'Hamilton' I know it may be out of your ordinary theme, but I believe that the character Aaron Burr is the narrator of the whole piece, as he starts the musical and has a short soliloquy to kick off a group of the songs featured. Such as: Alexander hamilton, The schuler sisters, say no to this and a winters ball, Even the world was wide enough. It makes the musical seem based off his memory/interpretation. I believe that, should you look into it, you'd do an amazing job!
And just so this is worth commenting, I agree that Anna deserves her memories to be returned as it would put her mind at rest, even though she seems to have come to terms with her current place.

    • @TheLewistownTrainspotter8102
      @TheLewistownTrainspotter8102 5 лет назад

That theory has been debunked countless times. Chris Buck was reported as "confirming" this fan theory as canon... except he didn't. He was referring to the theory in the sense of being a fun personal head-canon. Ignoring the timeline and logistics of the theory not making sense, Buck also claimed that he liked to imagine a group of surfing penguins existing on the other side of Tarzan's island in a reference to a non-Disney movie he worked on, making it clear he was not being serious.
Here's other details that work against the theory: one such detail is the clothing Tarzan's parents wear as opposed to the clothing Elsa and Anna's parents wear are totally different, not to mention totally different body builds. Another is that Tarzan takes place in our world as they even state that Jane, her father and the rest of that crew came from England. Whereas Elsa and Anna's parents are from Arendelle, a fictional kingdom. Third, in the opening scene of Tarzan, the ship they escape from is shown to be on fire whereas King Agnarr and Queen Iduna's ship was engulfed by an extremely large wave, no fire involved. Even if they were indeed somehow related, there is too much of a time gap between the two movies as Frozen clearly takes place around the 1830s-1840s, whereas Tarzan takes place around the 1890s-1900's.

Actually, there's a series on Audible called Twisted Tales, it's Disney story reimaginings, and there is a Frozen one called "Conceal, Don'tFeel". It's awesome. So, the story is, Elsa touched Anna at the same time as Grand Paby, and BOTH her and Anna loose their memories of each other, and they need to be separated because the closer Anna gets to Elsa, she starts freezing. So Anna is adopted by the Queen's best friend, and Elsa becomes the only Princess of the kingdom because Grand Paby also erased Arendelle's memories. So basically, Elsa and Anna have never met in the altered world.

I thought, at least for the most part, they WERE restored with the thawing of her frozen Heart, considering the Hair change in the movie. She gains one white streak after the ice hit her head. Her hair turned entirely white after enough time had passed from the ice in her heart. Once she was thawed, all the white disappeared, which appeared (at least to me) that the ice that affected Anna was released, including the spell that was placed there in the first place. I mean, there's the whole getting hit in the head with ice powers thing, but the other memories should have been restored already.

TRIGGER WARNING FOR ABUSE AND PTSD:
As a survivor of child abuse, I can relate to Anna's frustration at not being able to recall certain memories. I may not have had my memories magically tampered with, but even today I struggle to remember some details and some of my memories are fogged. I don't know if it's because of adrenaline (apparently the fight-or-flight reflex can interfere with the brain's ability to encode memories, meaning the memories just physically aren't there) or if it's because I repressed them. I'm wary of stories about people with repressed childhood trauma that went to a psychologist one day and suddenly remembered that they were abused. I think trauma always leaves a mark on you in some way, and even if you can't explicitly recall things you can still remember implicit memories and emotions, almost like gut feelings. Usually if you've been abused, if you reflect back on it, you kinda realize that what you went through wasn't healthy. Even though you may have at first downplayed the traumatic memories, made them out to be not as bad as they were. I am somewhat guilty of this. I also think maybe part of it is that my memories may have melded together, life events that were similar if not the exact same. That might explain why certain memories I remember two or more different outcomes to. Like this one memory I have of being trapped in a closet. On the one hand, I remember being let out by my abuser when he was forced to by my mother, or by my mother herself. On the other hand, I remember forcing my way out of the closet and freeing myself. I don't know which one is real, or if both are real and different outcomes of multiple times I was trapped in the closet (or some other place, I know at least once I was trapped in the bathroom).
I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I really like Anna's subplot of trying to get her memories back and coming to terms with not having them being a metaphor for PTSD and traumatic memory loss in general (since not every lost memory is the result of PTSD, sometimes it is the result of physical trauma or something like that). Anna realizing that even if she can't recall her memories, she still has the emotions that accompanied them and that makes them real and valid is a very powerful message for us abuse survivors. Sadly a common occurence amongst abuse survivors is self-gaslighting, questioning our perceptions of reality and our memories (typically because that is what our abusers did). I still struggle sometimes with feeling like my memories, and by extension my trauma, are real and valid because I can't fully remember them and what if I just made it up or I'm just exaggerating it to make it seem worse than it actually was? But even if you can't remember explicitly what was done to you, the fact that you remember the emotions (fear, anger, despair, humiliation, etc.) is proof enough that they occurred. At least, that is what I would like to believe. It's better than thinking I made it all up or that I'm exaggerating it.

Honestly I think "keeping the fun" was the BIGGEST mistake. It would have been better for Anna not to remember at all. By keeping the fun Anna could remember having fun with her sister and she could not understand why all of a sudden her sister didn't want to talk to her anymore. The poor kid probably blamed herself and thought she did something wrong

feels like this is one of the Frozen 2 plot
edit: Maybe in Frozen 2, she got confused with her memories, and maybe got angry with Elsa because she threatens Anna in the past. And she probably holding the book, crying on the rock, which you can see her doing that (maybe a book she's holding) in the trailer. And probably the reason she got separated.

Why did they have to remove her memories to save her? Grand Pabbie (not grandpappy) was a witch doctor. It seems like he could've formulated any other kind of life-saving magic. I think it would have been easier on Anna if she at least knew why her sister disappeared into her room every day.

Hi Isaac! Okay again. I’ve commented this. Long story short. Simba got a very special presentation as the rightful heir to the throne. But at the end of the first lion king and the beginning of lion king 2. His daughter Kira, the rightful heiress to the throne didn’t revive the same treatment. Why is that??

The thing that I’m wondering is:
When Anna met Olaf, Olaf said “Hi, I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs!” And Anna says “That’s right! Olaf” meaning she had remembered Olaf (yes it could be from the snow outside memory but hold on) the later in that scene Anna asks Olaf: “Olaf, did Elsa build you?” (Why would she have the thought of Elsa building him if she doesn’t remember magic from when they were little) ... Or she could just be wondering because there is a random talking and walking snowman and what else would it be from, but I still think that may have something to do with this theory maybe idk lol

And guys that think Anna had magic:
Anna could not have magic and here is why:
In the broadway musical of frozen, Elsa asks the trolls to remove her powers, but the trolls said no because her magic is apart of her. Meaning they can’t take Anna’s magic away because it would have been apart of her
