Hi, Congrats to Otis and both of you. I was in education for 49 years, 32 in the USA and 17 in Thailand. I wish all the parents I dealt with were as good as you two. You are raising two amazing boys who will have every chance to be successful in life. I love how you balance giving responsibility and time to be a child. Also how you value Otis's opinions on many topics. You are teaching him to be a critical thinker that will serve him well in the future. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
It wasn't long ago you was in front of a camera talking to us all about your feelings on homeschooling vs public schools and what decision you as a family should make with Otis and his academics. I feel this video is almost the part 2 to that video. It shows that you both with have done so well with Otis, he smashed it out the park!! very wholesome to watch and a credit to the both of you. Well done Otis and well done Mum and Dad. My boy, like Otis, was always chosen to represent his schools in English speaking competitions. Like you say, the schools wanted the best English speakers. His last competition was four years ago in the National finals of a public speaking contest. He was seventeen and came second. Again well done Dad and Mum. Keep listening to him reading and get his pronunciation right. It will stand him in good stead in later years. Well done Otis.👍👍

This is so awesome, well done Otis! it wasn't too long ago you was in front of the camera talking about homeschooling vs public schools. I think Otis has shown everyone that it does not matter if you get taught by parents or a qualified teacher. Ryan and Damo you have done such a amazing job before Otis was in school and ever since. Otis introduces his own name and age were perfect by using his voice to info as his voice was well perfuming how old he is and what his name is from which country for his competition by the second award by taking the 🥈 winner. Before that, Hugo were dressing nice shots while you were in your farmhouse listening what's his going to say that you said for you to check before letting Otis introduce his name, age and which country he was.
This was so cute! He was a little confused about where you wanted silver or gold and which was better, you all are doing such a great job,

What a great achievement for Otis. I do agree that they do a lot of practice. Five days a week and most of the day is a lot for a five year old to focus on. To me it's like Otis is so grown up. Well done Ryan and Damo, for raising a well balanced child. Not seen enough of Otis playing musical instruments yet, too know how he's going talent wise there, but from watching previous vlogs, he looks like he could be a very good dancer in the future, though he is for his age right now ( I'm jealous, as a guy with 'two left feet' 😂 ).
Love and laugh at the 'sparkle' in Damo's eyes when it comes to food. "Happy wife, happy life"... keep making time for these 'dates' Ryan.

Dim sum in Thailand I've never had dim sum in surin or ubon Ratchathani but once me and my gf ate it in a dim sum restaurant in chiang mai and it was very good, it's a shame it's not really ready available in Thailand maybe I'll open a restaurant one day lol
Wow Otis, that Gold is amazing. Well done. I agree with you Ryan that Thai schools spend way too much time on preparing for events, like English or dance competitions or sports days and those involved miss out on so much general education. My daughter was singled out as a possible Thai traditional dancer when she was 10 years old and was taken out of classes to practice for competitions etc. She missed out on so much and although she then went on to High School at Kalasin College of Dramatic Art and then to Mahasarakam University to study Dramatic Arts, after 4 years she failed her degree due to her lack of basic knowledge in other subjects. She is now having to stay on for an additional year to try and complete her degree. If we could go back in time I think that we would have preferred her to have a better all round education rather that specialise and miss out on so much. Don't get me wrong she is an excellent dancer, but that is not really going to pay the bills when and if she graduates, as work in the dancing field is very hard to come by. Thank you so much for sharing, and that Dim Sum looked amazing, I could almost taste it from here in Khon Kaen! God bless you all 😀❤🙏

Goes to show that success doesn’t always reward you with happiness!!!!! I suppose it’s the Schools ego of having a successful child and wanting to present him whilst neglecting other important learning for that child. Madness.
Why do you insist on calling him "tis", it is not as if he has a long name. How difficult is it to spend the extra 100 milliseconds to express an 'O'. And if you named him after someone in your family then you are doing them an injustice. I can hear your grandson "rye" being called now
there are very few thai names that begin with "O" (save for Om and Oh) when thais pronounce my sons name they say AUTIS a little close to Autistic, few Thai words being with the sala โ (O) sound actually, the main ones that do are of english provenance and rarely pronounced correctly
โอลิมปิก (o-lim-pík) - Olympic
โอเวอร์ (o-wer) - over
โอเค (o-kay) - okay
For this reason many of his friends abbreviated his name to Tis (i imagine with my son hugo they will do this to "go"). We thought the nick name was cute so we stuck with it and this is something we also laugh about together as a time saver. Indeed having taught in schools here it is very common for kids to abbreviate the names to one syllable. Damo is "mo" her brother krisada is "Ni" her sister is "Nik", my band memebrs were "ka" from kakanikorn "pog" from pogpransit, and Tor from Torasak. etc etc
