The previous owner really did take fine care of her. All those spares! Wonderful! For her to sit those years after he died and you to be able to bring her back to life so quickly is a testament to him care and your skill. She'll serve you two well! You got yourself a fantastic deal on a special boat. Grats!

Looks like you are off to a great start. All i could think of when I saw the Plantains and bananas was the superstition that if you have a banana on a boat you won't catch any fish. Glad that you were able to prove that one wrong.

My wife is from El Salvador and the way we cook plaintains is to let them get really ripe and soft, then peel them, cut in half, then length wise into 6 pcs total, then fry in coconut oil till brown. If they are ripe enough they are very sweet and good to eat. Plaintain recipe from Wasilla Alaska. Enjoying your videos, thanks.

You have more luck than hartlies.....fancy just having a new pump on board.... Is there anything u haven't got ....it's like watching blue peter, when they used to say...and I have one already here to show you, when making models , lol... Where did Magnus learn all his skills ????, there's nothing he can't fix ...hartlies is a jam by the way....means your jammy , lucky as us northerners would say , a slang word for lucky...

Congratulations for getting on the move - a major achievement/milestone.👍 Good to see the onboard spare gear already coming in handy with the water pump - and what a great engine room for access.😀 When it comes to undoing a set of bolts there is always one barsteward - for the future and it sometimes helps once you have freed off all the other bolts and you are left with the barsteward, put all the other bolts back in and tighten them up this reduces the clamping load on the barsteward. Great update.👍👍👍👌

Cool! Be sure to have something hanging on the side that always always you to claw your way back onboard if you should fall overboard. Stay away from areas of the world known for pirates. Do not want to read about you in the news. If you get out sailing around the world and run into a group of ham radio operators tell them K9ZM says "Hey! And good DX." Have fun!

The boat looks transformed its fantastic. For the brass lamp someone on one of the NB forums suggested soft toothpaste on a cotton wool pad to polish brass mushroom vents and apparently it worked. I have no experience myself but as you probably have those items aboard I thought I'd pass the information on. I don't suppose it can do any harm! Is that engine too handy for a man like Magnus? Thanks for another great vlog. I can honestly say I'm no longer missing you on the GU!

When you get to a proper boat store, look for a product called, "never dull". When I was in the Coast Guard, we used that to shine our brass bells. It work wonders. Just wear gloved, and use a soft cloth to buff it out. It will clean up that lamp, and steering pedestal .

You can dissolve the corrosion off the lamp with vinegar but you need to soak it in it and then use some chrome polish autosol is the best, alternatively you could use steel wool to scrub off the corrosion but metal polish and elbow grease will have it back like new but if you leave it bare the sea air will tarnish it again fast so car wax or clear coat it or just polish it when it turns brown again
