BMX RACING OVER 40: I Tried To Qualify For The 2024 BMX Worlds

- I finally got to compete in my first BMX world championship qualifier ever! The BMX worlds will be in the states on the east coast this year so it's the perfect time for me to try to qualify for them. One of the qualifiers were held during the Blue Ridge Nationals in Lexington VA. So I went down to see if I could make it in. Of course I had to film some behind the scenes from the event. It was great catching up with old friends and making new ones. It felt like a big family reunion. It also felt good to be back at the races capturing the vibes. Unfortunately I didn't qualify but I did make it into my quarter finals.

Im 47 and with your inspiration have started riding again. I used to ride street but Im too old for that and my body is weak from a medical issue so I bought a race cruiser and have taken up BMX and Pumptrack. Awesome video! I haven't been to a national since 1993, very cool to see the whole thing as opposed to just the usa bmx streams that just have the races only. Lots of cool interviews, and on top of all of that we got to see you on a track again! You did awesome! Totally helped boost my motivation to get my old self back on the track ASAP!

I love this vid!, I'm 58, never raced but never went anywhere without my bmx bike, we bombed around trails and jumped everything. I'm watching vids like yours and realizing how much I miss it, thinking about building a bike, old school style (Race ra20) at first, maybe hit a track and see if I have any skills, still in pretty good shape, we'll see how it goes. Curious if you’d see an improvement with clips…
There were a few things that would've made an improvement way before trying to put on clips lol. But even then I prefer flats.
@@crazyalcayne Me too but hear people praising them. That might be a good video of someone other than you coaching you on techniques, etc for that event (or another) to improve
There’s definitely a difference using clips but you have to know how to use them and probably pull with them other wise ur not really getting anything from it.
