This is of course the classic Final Fantasy battle, Cloud vs Sephiroth. I REALLY REALLY wanted to finish him off with Omnislash, but I didn't even get to use it =(

Why is it that whenever you beat Sephiroth, he always makes it sound like YOU lost?

Because he honestly wants you to win, it's his plan the entire way, Sephiroth fucks with cloud like this just to be a dick because he knows what his fate will be and Clouds fate will be, he knows he won't win the fight sure but he makes sure even when he losses... it's not only graceful, he manipulates you like a puppet to think/believe he willed you to win against him and go on your path...

@@thedude3065 Pretty sure the reason they replaced Sephiroth in the remake because it would be kinda disrespectful to the others who did Tifa, Barret and Cloud in AC and the other games if they left the original VA for Sephiroth stay.
Also his calmer attitude seems to be done for a reason. Like he has been enlightened due to the time travel crap going on.

Ya know, Sephiroth's last words here always kinda puzzled me. The Sephiroth in AC and Dissidia doesn't act like the one from the original game.
His last lines in this scene almost make it sound like he wants to help Cloud, but in a menacing, condescending way. Truly an excellent villain.

Sephiroth is dead and yet Chaos plucked him from his timeline and brought him to life.
That line where Cloud tells Sephiroth "Go back to sleep" indicates that these two from Final Fantasy VII are deep into their rivalry. I doubt this is before Advent Children. For Cloud just because by now he seems to understand that his rival isn't that easy to kill. Sephiroth quotes his own previous AC lines btw.
Sephiroth planned on taking over Chaos's world just like he wanted the lifestream of his home.
Perhaps Sephiroth doesn't need to be a personality that is always the same. He torments cloud and usually gets under his skin.
You're not the only one who gets that vibe; it's like the part of Sephiroth before he went insane. Then again, I'm one of those people who refuses to believe Sephiroth was ever the big bad of 7 anyhow. He was just one more pawn for Jenova to use.

i like how sephiroth is a undying enemy and someone you fight for a eternity
storywise, Dissidia takes place in the void, introduced in ff5, a place where all universes collide and become a timeless expanse where nothing truly affects the outside universes and memories of their time spent in the void may not necessarily be carried back outside when they leave.
It takes place before, after, and during final fantasy VII, along with every other entry to the franchise.
Sephiroth be like: hey cloud! You got that shit because of my help, id better get credit from thattt...

I miss these guys, the ones in the remake do not live up to the originals, especially Sephiroth's actor is not as menacing as George Newbern.
They still use them outside the remake. I think since the remake will literally take years they dont want to risk having to switch them later
Truly, I understand Sephiroth. He's not evil, he's not sad, he has no given purpose but to be the flames that quench the land until he finds the truth that leads to the water. All of the times Sephiroth has return or reincarnated, he has always be searching for mother but the only thing he has been able to call mom is a alien known as Jenova. The fact that he's related to her in anyway messes up the way he thinks, thinking that hes a monster. If he ever met Lucracia, he would turn good.
Yeah Lucrecia is his real mother not the creepy alien jenova.

My sympathies are with Sephiroth in FF7, Shinra being a life draining company, I can see his reasons for the things he's done, and in retrospect, a villain is a severely misinterpreted hero, of course, most would take it out of context, simply use the power of observation to discern causes. In this case, Sephiroth is justified as an actual hero, in spite of being a tad bit dickish.

For the most of the game he was sat in this cave crying for his mother to come release him
The only reason he even summoned meteor was thanks to Cloud and co walking up to him and handing him the Black Materia
He didn't even kill Aeris, that was Jenova taking his form

Well cloud was sort of a puppet in FF7 because he thought he was Zach minus name so I can understand why shiphoroth would call him a puppet but in Kingdom Hearts he says that he is cloud which is a stupid part of the script but hey oh well

FF's characters in Kingdom Hearts are not the same characters than in their original games. Don't try to find connections between them. Their history there references stuff from their own games, but they will flow in an opposite direction if the history of KH needs them to.

Sad nobody ever gave you an answer but let me explain. In Dissidia Cosmos and Chaos chose warriors from different worlds (the different games) and made them fight for them, the warriors lost their memories or at least some of them did if I remember correctly and are pretty much just forced to do this until there’s a winner. Cloud saying he came of his free will is him saying he’s not just a pawn in someone else’s game but he totally is.
@@justaclown3228 I actually found out it goes beyond that. As sad as it is, Cloud's been a pawn for basically his whole life. That's what leads him to Sephiroth in EVERY Square game he's made an appearance in. He's been playing pawn to Sephiroth this whole time, and he never knew.

Recently, Square Enix started selling digital copies of the game for 12$, if you're really wanting to play it for yourself. You can even get it over Steam, if you use it.
As best as I can tell, I think it's the song called "March" on the OST. Just look up "Dissidia: Final Fantasy OST - March" on youtube and you should find it.
Plus, Sephiroth's lightspeed slashes makes him one hardcore villain.
some ppl say dissidia is before , and some say it's after but you're all wrong ! it's neither , dissidia is out of time , in another dimension , the characters just get brought there ( just play the whole game again you'll see , they say it themselves i'm not making anything up )

I have to ask, what type of FF7 remake does everyone want? Like a total graphic reskin (halo 2 anniversary style) or complete remake changing everything (gameplay mechanics/ graphics). I don't understand what people really want. But i just want them to reskin everything and make the cutscenes like a movie.

@sasorinodanna13 Well kinda truth. You see, Dissidia actually seems to be after most FF story lines but there are parts that seem as though it does happen before and during the actual games. I believe it is after but due to Shinryu's "reset" their memories fade mostly to some point... Although the part of HOW enemies like Kefka come back. I mean I can understand Sephiroth and Jecht as they have medians to return... I suppose Chaos's time effect did it but idk... just stuff to ponder.

I played Warrior of Light for a while and then played as Sephiroth until he was lvl 100. I didn't play Cloud until I had mastered most of Sephiroth's abilities. I still mostly play Sephiroth. He's the best. :D

sephiroth is the hardest one to fight because he is so fast... and he's combos are cool.. and i like it when i use him coz he really is easy to use compared to others.... and cloud rocks coz he is best in aerial attacks that makes him cool...

@dlwitness Nope, Sephiroth fell into the lifestream at Nibelheim Mako reactor after Cloud stabbed him
He was taken through the lifestream before eventually washing up, so to speak, in Northern Crater, where he became trapped when Mako crystal formed around him
You can clearly see him in the crystal, unmoving, when Cload hands him the black materia
Sephiroth was influencing Jenova's actions (taking his form), making her attack the team, kill Aeris etc, but he himself never left Northern Crater
