I would love to read your comments and video requests in the comments below. Хобби
Great video! So many of these other tumbler videos are junk and little details. You actually put a YEAR into this video with all the info I needed. Thanks!
Rob you are very welcome. Thank you for your kind comments.
I agree, super helpful video! I went through a lot of videos on composting tumbler and I found yours the most detailed, especially the review 1 year after.
Thank you for your kind comments.
Wow, thank you so much. You did a fabulous job with your description and the one year review was so awesome. Have a blessed day! Happy composting😀
Rubi you are very welcome. Thank you for your kind comments.
Thank you sir! I truly appreciate all the work you put into edifying us which helps me since I had no idea how to operate this compost
Also I love that we were able to see the results
Moe you are very welcome!! Thank you for your kind comments.
I ordered one the other day. I’m very excited to use it. We live in Oregon so it should be perfect. Thank you for this video. Very helpful.
You are very welcome!!!
Great video! Thank you for all your knowledge… not positive if I would have been able to put it together without your help. I’m totally new to composting and you’ve made me more secure about what to do and what to expect. Thank you again.
Best comment of the day!! Thank you, Wendy, for your kind words. I’m so glad it helped you.
I have gone back to this video over time refresh my memory.
This compost video is super helpful by covering all aspects of above ground composting. My own mixture is looking great!
Lynn thank you for sharing!!
Thank you for this honest review! I’m in a very hot and humid climate and have been looking at tumblers.
Dingle you are very welcome. I hope it was helpful.
Thanks for the review. You really helped me make my mind up. I'm in a very humid area, so it sounds like this will be a perfect fit!
Brittney you are very welcome!!
It’s nice how professional you are. I like how you point out issues right away and what you do like
Thank you so much!!
just bought this tumbler, and cant wait to start yielding compost from it! im from Niagara, Ontario, Canada so i was relieved when you said it would be better suited for a more humid climate, because thats the type of weather i live in almost year round!
thanks for the tips and tricks, this video was very useful
Kale you are very welcome!!!
Hi Kale, just getting into composting. How did it go during the winter? I’m in Toronto and debating on this one. Ty
I’ve ordered this tumbler and saved your video to talk me through the assembly. Some great tips, thank you!
Mary you are very welcome!!
Thank you for all of this awesome information. I am moving from a condo to a house again, and will be able to compost again!
Andrew you are very welcome.
best review I seen on youtube thanks for your time and expertise
Mike thank you so much!!
Great Video, I appreciate your significant effort in putting this together. I ordered the envirocycle over a month ago. They had Covid19 hit their production plant and haven't opened back up. After watching your video I'm going with this composter instead. Thanks again!
Joe you’re very welcome!!
Just ordered it today. Your video helped me finalize my decision. Thanks for the review.
You are very welcome.
Couldn’t have done this without the video. Thanks so much.
Jackie you are very welcome!!!
Just got it. Am scared to put it together! Thanks for the moral support. I'll let you know how it goes.

Excellent review! I just purchased mine and am looking forward to having my first homemade compost. Thank you!
You’re very welcome, Laura.
I was just gifted this tumbler and life in Arizona (similar climate). Your video is by far my favorite so far. You go into great detail and even followed up after a few months and then again after a year.
Thank you so much!!
thanks for the post! I got this unit for christmas with no instruction manual, your post was very helpful. Happy New Year
Orson you are very welcome.
Incredibly happy with your follow up at the end! Hate reviews where they don't actually use the product or give you a follow up after use. This has been super helpful! Thank you! :)
Best comment of the day! Thank you for your kind words, Jaimie.
God bless ya! No way I would’ve been able to put this thing together without your video.😅🙏🏻 Excellent job! Setting it up in West Virginia entering winter. Going to try wrapping it in reflectics and a tarp, placing it in full sun, and see how hot I can get it. 👍🏻
Thank you for your kind comments! So glad the video helped.
don't block the air holes!
Thank you, this was very good educational Video. It answer a lot of the questions I had. I purchased this because I was feeling very guilty of 🗑 my food scrubs. This is the first time Im trying this so I’m researching everywhere to learn to do it right.
You are very welcome. Good luck.
great advice and tips (like the nail polish) convinced me this is the one I want since I live in a more humid area. can't wait till it comes in.
Miranda I hope it works great for you!!
Excellent video. A lot of time went into the review of this composter, beginning with it coming out the box all the way to the point the composter has produced a batch of compost. I liked the detail of the initial inspection of the parts!
JL thank you for your kind words.
Thanks for the video. I just purchased one of these tumblers from Amazon, and assembled it from your video instead of the useless instructions that came with the unit. You made the job fast and easy. 👍🏻
That makes my day! Thank you.
Great & helpful video! I just recently moved to Las Vegas & the city does not do curbside compost compared to where I used to live (Northern Cali). So finding your video was awesome.
Great job. This is the best video for assembly and and pros and cons. Thank you.
Elaine you are very welcome!
I've had mine for several years n workes great
I’m so glad it has held up well for you. Other than dirty from the weep holes, ours has held up exceptionally well.
Buying this one tomorrow. I am in New Jersey, US and its humid and hot enough in the summer. This will not work that well in our cold winters, but maybe I can get something done during spring-summer. Stay well, and best of luck.
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks so much for the good information. I lost my manual telling me how to use the composter, so the information was very helpful. I do live in a humid climate so it should be good for my needs. Thanks again.
Katherine you are very welcome! So glad it helped you.
Thank you so much for posting this video. I just unpacked my tumbler and the directions were not good. Watching this video saved me so much time in figuring it out and I am usually pretty good at it! It took a few hours to assemble with all the nuts and bolts. I was excited to put my saved items in it last night to start the compost. Thanks again.
You are very welcome.
I followed this video through selection and purchase of the composter, assembly and to its location on our property. It's been a fun project with a great purpose. This video helped me all along the way and I would recommend it to anyone interested in composting .
North Central Kansas may experience more rain than Vegas.
But whether you are in an arrid or a wet part of the country some parts of the video will be applicable and very helpful.
Lynn thank you so much for your kind comments!!
If anyone purchases this, you’ll be successful putting it together because of this video. The directions that come with this composter is a waste of trees, so I’ll be shredding the instructions for the composter for sure! Pause in between each step, and follow his instructions exactly, and I couldn’t of put this together without your video. Thank you so much for helping me assemble this perfectly!
You are very welcome! Thank you for your kind comments.
Great video, and showing the tip about the threads, thank you!
Argost you are very welcome!!
HUGE ALOHA to u!!! This video was SUCH A HUGE BLESSING to me! I just bought one today and was trying to find more RUclips on reviews and came across urs. Urs, BY FAR, is the best! Thanks to u I have a good grasp on how to assemble it once it comes next week!😄😄😄. I also have my nail polish ready to go too! 🥳🥳🥳. Ur review was EXTREMELY informative and THOROUGH yet it didn’t give an overkill of information, like some of the others. Every bit of information that u gave was bite sizable and easy to understand. I value all of the important information u shared which will really help me to determine where to place this! THANK YOU SO MUCH for putting this together. 😍😍😍. I can’t wait to watch more videos from u and learn!!! May GOD ABUNDANTLY BLESS U AND UR FAMILY, as well as bring favor to ur amazing channel!!!
Lisa that is the kindest comment I’ve ever received. Thank you so much for your well wishes and appreciation!
thanks for the review on the product and tutorial on making compost, so helpful.
Amanda you are very welcome. So glad it helped you.
Really thorough, excellent video! Thank you!!!
Tori thank you so much!!
I really appreciate your video. I assembled my tumbler a few days ago before I came across your video, but still had no trouble at all. FCMP has a website with more assembly tips that were not included in my package. My box did not include the composting information, sadly. I'm gardening in southern CA...dry and hot climate, as well, so I am hoping it will work for me. Thanks for your information. Great job!!!
Lisa you are very welcome. So glad it helped you!
We just purchased this composter today so it is not assembled yet. The first step we decided was to watch a utube to see how to put it together and get any helpful tips. Thank you for making this video; it is very comprehensive, clear and easy to follow.
Jeff thank you for your king comments. Those were my exact intentions and I’m glad it helped.
Fantastic video for this 70+ single lady. Thank you!!!!!
Carolyn you are very welcome.
I ended up purchasing one! Your assembly part of the video was so helpful! Way better than the silly instructions that came with the unit!
Thank you. So glad it was helpful!
My area is going to start adding a compost bin with the garbage and recycling and I thought… why not compost on my own. This video is perfect for a complete noob. Just got the tumbler and thanks to your vid I feel pretty confident about setting everything up. Much appreciated!
So glad it was helpful!
Very thorough and informative. Excellent presentation.
Ed thank you very much.
Thank you. I live in a humid climate. (We have fresh air too!) Will let you know how it goes.
Awesome video. I'm ready to assemble and start composting. Thanks
Angela you are very welcome. I’m so glad it was helpful!!
I just got this composter thanks to a neighbor who found it on the street for the garbage man. So it was a freebee! Your video was very informative on usage, thank you. I have a tiny garden so I think this will serve me well. I will have to re-watch the video because I didn't write down the ratios of green and brown. I will pay closer attention next viewing. Again thanks.
Love this! Someones else's trash can always be somebody else's gadget! A throwaway society we're in.
I'm in Michigan and just got this composter a few days ago. I'm excited to see the results.
I hope it works great for you!!
Fantastic instructions. Thanks!
You are very welcome!
Great information. I live near the Gulf Coast, so a very humid climate. My use of an in ground composter was less than successful due to infestation with bugs and ants eating most of the wet scraps. Will try a rotating tumbler now. My problem is a lack of dry material since live oak leaves are not good in compost and our neighborhood is nothing but those trees!
Yep. We took out our grass to make way for a pool so we struggle to get enough green material.
Great review, thanks! Love the nail polish tip too!
You are very welcome Aaron.
Would not have been able to assemble my tumbler without this video!! thank you so much for posting this!
Sara you are very welcome!
Thanks for the great tutorial!
We assembled ours today and would have placed it in the shade had we not seen your video.
We did not purchase the tumbler to make compost, but to keep kitchen greens, coffee grounds and flowers etc. from going to the landfill creating methane. We’ll be adding leaves and pine straw as well. Hopefully not making something too stinky but something useful for the garden.
You are very welcome. Hope it works great for you.
thanks for the review! great video
I’ll leave a comment for the metrics. This is a very thorough video and much appreciated.
Thank you, JR.
I just purchased a Vivosun divided tumbler with two doors and galvanized stand similar to yours. I am so glad I came accross You after watching Your video it gave me more motivation to start and do my compost right. So many videoes out there but nothing can compare to youra. Thank You.
Rosemarie thank you so much for your kind comments!!
@@houseonthemend You are welcome. I have a question the starter compost how many times do you use it. I just ordered mine it hard to get it here sold out...
Once per batch.
Thank you! I was able to assemble this easily using this video.
I’m so glad it helped you!!
Ty so much for his video. It is very knowledgeable. Ty!
You are very welcome Marisa.
I’d bought mine at a garage sale (no manual) for like $5 and the bees took to it immediately. By the time I got to composting again the bees had squatting rights weren’t going anywhere and I wasn’t about to, ya know, kill them. I’ve just recently had the bee hive which had completely filled one side removed, they were taken to the “bee farm”. The other side is still filled with brown clippings. So I move it to a different area. The bees did do me a favor and plugged some of the holes. Looking forward to getting this thing rolling now. Enjoyed your video! Learned lots! Thank you
Judy you are very welcome.
I bought one and used your video as an assembly guide. I live in the south east so I hope the humidity helps. Those little sliding door looks like it will be awkward filling and emptying. Thanks for your help!
Glen you are very welcome.
Thank you for doing this video, sir. This was extremely helpful.
Pat you are very welcome!!
I have the same tumbler. I live in Missouri, and as you suspected it works quite well here with our humidity.
Thank you for sharing!!!
I have one of these. Had it about a year. I live in Hong Kong. It’s pretty humid here. We’re tropical (22 N). I gotta say: it’s a *terrific* product! No complaints and makes nice compost in 2-3 weeks. (Don’t know about Los Vegas!)
Peter thank you for sharing your experience!!
Excellent video, I just ordered one, from my local hardware store.
Thank you, Brent!
I just bought one of these at the beginning of the summer, and like you I am pleased with the quality of it. mine has 2 doors instead of the 1 long one, and I took the divider out of mine so I could do a single batch at a time. I also agree the door size makes it a little hard to load and unload, but I am pleased with it. Thanks for your info and review of the tumbler!
John you are very welcome.
John, that is exactly what I am thinking of doing. So did you find the composter was still solid without the center piece. I would prefer a larger amount of compost at a time.
Thank you for a great video and thank you too for not talking too fast! I hate to disappoint below commenters but I had no problems putting this together last year, and I am a 73 year-old woman and I did it by myself; I just took my time. I used the box it came in to use as a prop and hold up the bin while assembling. A year later my compost is still very moist, and I am still adding to it on one side, leaving one side to finish by itself. I am adding more brown material now, however, since results seem so moist. I live in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. Thank you again for your great video and taking the time to share it with os.
You are very welcome!
Great job on this video! Thank you!
You are very welcome.
You're absolutely fabulous. Thank you
Thank you Jasper for your kind comments.
Thank you so much! We used your video to put our tumbler together.
That’s great! I’m so happy it was helpful.
I'm putting mine together today and then I'll get it started. It will be nice to have a way to reuse the discards from my fruits and veggies.
I hope you enjoy it!
fantastic review, thanks!
Saadi thank you for your kind comments!!
That you so very much for this video!
Aprille you are very welcome.
Very helpful. Thank you!
Jody you are very welcome.
Thank you for the video and recommendation, I'm in Texas, the humidity here allows this tumbler to work great. Happy 4th of July.
You are very welcome.
Very good and informative video. I was just thinking of getting this tumbler and now with your info and tips I am going to get this. I am in San Antonio Tx. and I know this will be a great purchase. Thank you again I have subscribed so I will be seeing more of you later. Stay safe.
Steve thank you for your kind comments!!!
Wow the compost came out so nice
It did look beautiful, just tough to keep moist in our climate.
New subscriber here, and thanks for this very informative video. I picked up one of these tumblers yesterday (used) from someone on one of my social media platforms for $25.00 and was very excited to finally get one. Something I did notice you saying, is that it will leak and to make sure you don't have it on a finished concrete patio, because it would stain it. Something I thought that would work wonderfully is placing one of those boot trays underneath to catch the drippings, that way you could easily slide it out and place the liquid into a container for 'compost tea' watering. That way it's not wasted. Just a thought, because that's what I plan on doing! Stay safe and thanks again.
Great idea.
I'm in Las Vegas as well! I just got this composter from the city. I set it up last week. I did put some material from my worm farm with the little spring tails in it. Hopefully that is enough. If not, I'll have to get some of that compost starter.
Thanks for posting!
You are very welcome. Be sure to remain hyper vigilant about maintaining moisture inside your tumbler here in our arid climate.
@@houseonthemend Thank you! I will try. 😁
Skip to 8 minutes in to actually get to the assembly part
My beautiful wife got me one if these for Christmas. Thanks for the info!
🌳😁🤙🌳
@Freedom Pharms you are very welcome! Enjoy.
Thanks, Great video
Dennis you are very welcome.
Great stuff. Thank you.
Adam you are very welcome.
I just now finished putting mine together, by myself...a 62 yr old gimpy woman at that! The instructions that come with it are crap! Thank goodness for this video!
So glad it helped you!
I just got this compost bin 2 days ago and got it built. It's still winter here in Pa with false spring every other day.. lol.. but to anyone questioning what you should put in this bin, I started with the box it came in.. lol I took what little tape there was off the box ripped it up, threw some of it in with some kitchen scraps. Since we have snow on the ground and I can't get to the grass just yet 🙄 but in 2 days it'll be 70 degrees again 🙄 but anyway the best materials to start with is the box itself and scraps from the kitchen, I got a bag of already aged manure and added some of that to get things going a bit. I'm finding that using the boxes from those Amazon purchases will work for this. It'll make hiding my purchases a lil easier 😂😂Just make sure it's not glossy cardboard like cereal boxes, or diaper boxes, just stick with all brown boxes. My only disappointment is going to be the smaller amount of compost I will get. I mean I know that breaking down means smaller particles but I didn't realize just how little the final compost amount would be. figured that between both chambers it would at least fill half of the bucket. But it seems it was way less than that. But some is better than none!! Can't wait to see the results!!
Melanie thank you for sharing.
Hi Melanie, I live in Canada with the cold winters? How was the compost during winter month’s for you?
Great stuff man thank u!
Crystal you are very welcome!!
Great video! Thank you
Alex you are very welcome.
Great info, thanks!
You’re very welcome.
This does a great job when prepared according to directions. 19:39
I agree, Lynn.
Thank you for such a detailed explanation of the tumbler. I am in the process of getting one and was doubtful about it until now. I am not so sure how it will work here in Canada's cold weather, but I am still open-minded.
You are very welcome.
Thank You!
You are very welcome!
Just purchased this tumbler! I am in Utah though so I hope I can keep the moisture up! 🤞
I hope it works great for you.
I liked and subscribed. Thank you for a great video. I got one of these as a gift, and I am ready to put it together. Your video has helped me.
Thank you Nana Jan.
thank you. excellent information great video
Veronica you are very welcome.
Thank you!!!
You are very welcome!
Took me longer than I thought it would... Forgot about centre screws... Ugh at least it's done now but I had to head to youtube and use this so thanks :)
James you are very welcome. Glad it helped!!
A++++++++++++++ Rating for a great, instructive video.👍
Wow thank you so much! Glad it helped.
I loved watching your video.I watched it a few times as I'm new to composting.I love how you show everything from start assemblying to the end product.I live in Sydney Australia.I'm going to attempt almost exactly what you did except it's more humid here to your dry weather.Should I add less water.Anyway, again thank you so much✌
The optimal moisture level is the “consistency of a rung out sponge” so keep your material close to that and you should be good. Thank you, Chris, for your kind comments.
I have a second-hand YIMBY in eastern Ontario. The inside can dry out but isn't not hard to keep moist, often by opening the cover during rainstorms. It handled winter cold-snaps well, maybe because it is made in Canada, but the sliding cover is predisposed to freeze shut. It can develop rust on the supports, so it's probably better to keep those on footings above the wet ground.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Excellent video. Thank you, will let you know how ours turns out in a few :)
Oh no! Bought it. awaiting its delivery later today. Watched your wonderful video, including the "cons" at the end ... and I live in Phoenix!
Hahaha!... you’ll be chasing moisture!
@@rondavis2791 Thanks for that. Learning as I’m going. One learning; avoid pine needles!
Pine needles don’t break down quickly. They are nature’s styrofoam.
Not in a compost tumbler.
