Luigi Boccherini - Minuet - String Quintet
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 янв 2009
- Ridolfo Luigi Boccherini (19 February 1743 - 28 May 1805) was an Italian, later Spanish, composer and cellist of the Classical era whose music retained a courtly and galante style even while he matured somewhat apart from the major European musical centres. He is best known for a minuet from his String Quintet in E, Op. 11, No. 5 (G 275), and the Cello Concerto in B flat major (G 482). The latter work was long known in the heavily altered version by German cellist and prolific arranger Friedrich Grützmacher, but has recently been restored to its original version.

This is one of those classical pieces that everyone has heard, but doesn't know about.
Yep
Right! I've recently began taking violin lessons. This is the song in Suzuki book 2. I was like wait a minute I've heard this song. It's in Guess Who, the beginning of 2012, and the Doritos commercial with the elephant that slaps everyone.
I love chamber music. Just learned about Boccherini on NPR.
LaTonya Newsome OMG I also learn using the Suzuki books!! What your favorite song so far?
I play it on the violin
It's a shame that Boccherini is not more well known, he was quite prolific and is very underrated.
+Zoopy Joobles Yes, I truly agree :(
I agree too!
박성희
Ban Seong Hee? Correct?
it's a beautiful song
Agree,a lot of shame...
The classical music piece played in so many movies to convey anything high class.
🧐🧐🧐🧐
I can't decide whether he is a normal sized person holing a cello and wearing a massive bow tie, or whether he is a tiny person holding a violin and wearing a normal sized bow tie.
Cannot be unseen.
It's when real men wore real bow ties. As to the size of their instruments? It was said that God held a special place for Boccherini's music... ;)

Boccherini? Semplicemente un GENIO... ascoltate le sue musiche e ne riparleremo!
Ironic all the comments about the rich and money etc etc . I believe the guy died piss poor, and NEVER got the credit he deserved for the quality music he composed. To me at least, his output sounds far more entertaining in 2016 than Haydn. And shit does this guy come up with a tune. LOVE Luigi B xx
Also he was the Paganini of the cello.
Haydn is overrated. His Water Music is the cure to insomnia;
@@da96103 first of all that's Handel, and second of all neither Handel or Haydn is overrated
@@da96103
What?
I think you might mean Händel....
In which case I'd agree with you regarding the Water Music - but he wrote some brilliant stuff. Try Dixit Dominus, or Rinaldo.
And there's nothing wrong with Joseph Haydn.
Try
Trumpet Concerto in E Flat major.
Symphony 44
Symphony 49
Symphony 104
Just for starters.
@@YCCC1963 Thank you for your kind words. Indeed I meant Handel and not Haydn of whose compositions that I liked which include the aforementioned Squid Game Trumpet Concerto and also Hob 50 (esp. Em Ax's rendition).
Alas I tried to listen to Handel's Water Music again and it instantly gave me a headache. I shall not join His Royal Highness on his little one-hour boat trip along the river.

Hogwarts brought me here too! Found the name of this song on Reddit
And thus the piece that would be played in every ballet class was born.
I would figure that was "Coppelia". What do I know...

The comfort of Boccherini’s music is beyond compare
little do i know about classical music. all this time i thought this was mozart
+roshan ahmed I found it by fluke. I kinda enjoyed the piece when I was watching the amazing world of gumball, later I was on a keyboard screwing around and it was there marked as "MinuetBo."
And I was thinking it is Vivaldi
@@HA-hi9fk You couldn't possibly 🤣👏🏻
Timeless masterpiece. Simply brilliant.
The song of my childhood. Amazing.
To think that, for such a long time, LB was neglected except for this one piece! How many ,,one hit wonders'' are out there who deserve the same respect and admiration that Boccherini now enjoys?
Neglecent?
I can never listen to this piece without recalling "The Ladykillers" (1955) with Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, Cecil Parker, and the inimitable Katie Johnson as "Mrs. Wilberforce".
That's exactly what I thought ❤
I listened to the piano version of this when I had my keyboard, and I had to give it away after 5th grade. It became my favorite minuet of all, but I had no idea who wrote it. I searched it for a very long time, and now I found it. I'm so happy :D
I feel the same... finally just found it
Same here. I was hearing this beautiful music everywhere: movies, tv shows, hotels, fancy dinner parties,...etc. I tried searching but couldn't find it. I finally found it. I first thought it was Bach but then I landed here today. Hats off to Luigi Boccherini for this wonderful melody.
same. it honestly takes forever to find classical music if you're not very familiar with it /.\

I found it quite fast, now you can hum and google can find the songs for you
It not even violin its cello music😂
I love hearing this minuet. It always lifts my spirits.
He was born and composed in the same classical era as Bach, Beetthoven, Mozart, etc. I'm always astounded that so many musicians were born in Europe in a small segment of time to influence each others works.
Those are three different eras though. Bach was Baroque, Mozart was Classical, and Beethoven while mostly Classical was also at the beginning of the early Romantic period. Boccherini was Classical.
The four's works span over 120 years, how does this comment have any upvotes at all, let alone this many?
Beautiful. I want to play this on violin one day.
I wish you luck!
Learning this on violin is simple. Polishing it is the problem.

Luigi sei un grande genio grazie per la tua preziosa musica che hai lasciato a noi per ascoltare
This was the theme music for a programme on Irish TV (RTE) in early sixties called 'Of mountain and meadow'. The presenter walked the length and breadth of the country. Quiet, beautiful, peaceful. Loved it and long to see it again. Music still sends me into paroxysms of longing for the simplicity of those times.
How can you even dislike this classical piece??

I just spent the last half hour looking for this song!!!! I was surprised it didn't have the word "major" in it and that it wasn't a Mozart or Vivaldi piece. SOooooo excited.
It is pleasing to read that there are people who listen and appreciate baroque music. Voila
REPAIRO! So sorry. It's not "baroque" any more. 🙃
This is from the classical period, not baroque.
I learned this piece on piano and was supposed to play it for a concert when I was twelve, then BAILED! I had to go in person to tell the organizer myself and write an apology letter. She was furious, because she had already sent the program to the printers, back in the day when this was a much more involved process. I was too ashamed after that to go back for lessons. I had reached that point where the diligent students are separated from the creative genius students--and there were some amazing musicians in our club back then! I loved the piano (still do), and I realized that my hard work wasn't enough, and it kind of broke my heart. It took me a few years to find my true talents, but the lessons I learned in the devoted years of piano have influenced my whole life. I always hear this with a tinge of regret, but also fondness.
This is the only song in which i can say the "Oh my god ive found this after 7 years!" comments are true.
