I watched your first tutorial yeeeaaaars ago in middle school. I've graduated High School now, and I'm getting back in ACF, you shoulda sheen the look on my face when I saw this tutorial was made by you.
This has got to be the most comprehensive acf tank tutorial out there. There's tons of room for innovation, design choices, layouts, etc, but the essential frame is so well built. I had been making cars in gmod for so long I tried to make tanks the same way and quickly realized that's not how it works. After about 30 minutes into the tutorial, it started driving really well and I couldn't believe the smoothness. Thanks gmodism, I can see a world of tanks ahead of me!
my cannon just spin everywhere slowly when i exit my tank... And also it enters in collision with my makeshift turret, even tho both a in no collide state
I don't know if you are reading this after a year but I'll try anyways. I do like the tutorial and it really helped me. But if you don't mind you could put a disclaimer on the screen if you make a mistake like with the parenting or wiring. Because there are people like me wich follow the tutorial step by step and it becomes really annoying to rebuild everything and skip to the right part in the video because we made also followed your mistakes😅. Anyways i love your work and keep it up👍
i fallowed all the steps in the tutorial until i got a little problem with the gun... when i get in my tank and press shift the gun will go sideways and literally avoid trying to aim to the right and flip on th left idk its broken help please?

RDC's Turret Tank M V1.01 chip now gives the following error upon spawn: "Expression 2 (RDC's Turret Tank M V1.01): entities/gmod_wire_expression2/core/entity.lua:315: Tried to use a NULL entity" Any idea how to fix this?
this happens when you spawn the chip without having anything wired into it,once you do all the wiring with the chip and then pull up the e2 tool to click on it again it should be fine.just make sure you first are done with wiring everything from the rdc's turret tank chip before clicking it with E2 again. i have a pretty simple mortar plate to test rdc turret settings which i can give you to see how it works or to use it as a way to quickly use it for other turrets by removing the mortar and doing the wiring alongside wiring the base plate for a gun you are making
Just installed ACF and my projectiles do no damage to props or NPCs despite permissions set correctly and ammo propellant/length values set up. Anyone know a fix?

Probably just a collision problem, reapply nocollide works usually

Did you build in the right direction? try spawning it with adv dupe 2 and resaving in 90 degrees yaw direction

Re wire the engine, sometimes engine activate wire bond stops working, also make sure your selected engine does not require fuel.
Hi, I noticed that you have some interesting weapons there that aren't in basic ACF, are howitzers above 203mm available after installing ACE?
Yes, ACE offers that and missiles!

Install some prop protection mod, steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=159298542 and it should magically work
