Toyota Fuel Filter Change & Warning Reset (All Diesels) - How To Guide
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 12 авг 2024
- After having numerous warning light activation's for a fuel filter restriction in the 200, I decided it was the perfect time to make a quick video explaining just how simple it is to change and what you need to do, to reset the warning light.
This procedure is applicable for all current diesel Toyotas (Hilux, Hiace, Fortuner, Prado, 70 Series V8 and 200 Series V8 diesel, etc, etc).

Happy Safe Adventuring & see you next time - Graham. Авто/Мото
You explained everything I needed to know clearly and in a logical manner. Really well done, cheers - going to go change the filter on my 76 now and reset the dash light with confidence.
Thanks mate , I replaced the filter but forgot about leaving the plug off acc, plug in and start. I was just heafing off on my travel. Got home and relaxed then found your vid. Light is off cheers.
Thanks for posting you have given me the confidence to change the fuel filter on my 200.
I wish there were more mechanics of his calibre. His attention to detail is amazing. How useful is this. 👍
What should I do if the anders worning lights is working on
As a new owner of 2018 LC200 this was a particularly useful tutorial.
Thank you for posting such great explanation.
Man im so pleased I found this video. What a perfect tutorial. Love it. Please do more of these. I broke down at karijini, had to be towed to tom price, then had to wait a few days for a mechanic to do this. Cost me a fortune and ended our trip early. I reckon il watch this a few more times and donit myself.
Great Idea for a series. All sorts of diy bush mechanical stuff would be a great series. Shocks, repair tyres etc etc
Thanks a million
Loved how you told us how to reset the warning light at the end. And very clear steps throughout, cheers.
Cheers mate - I’ve had to do it a handful of times out bush or on the side of the road now…..so it’s a handy process to remember.
Glad you found it useful & helpful.
Awesome!! Much appreciated mate. Just did my 2011 Prado and it worked perfectly.

I'm about to cross over to "The dark side" and will be buying a Hilux next week.
After driving petrol 4WDs most my life, at least now I won't look like a complete fool if ever I get stuck on the side of the road.
Sincere thanks.
Thanks, light just popped up mid highplains trip - stopped at repco and followed this... awesome!
Good to hear mate 👌🏻

Glad it was helpful mate 👌🏻
Amazing tutorial from amazing experts.Thumbsup👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks mate, everything I needed to know, champion.
Gday Graham, nice video and well explained! I liked the way you cleaned the area before changing the filter. Just a little point that I think is important is that it is necessary to keep the downstream part of the filter housing pristine clean during the change. So I wouldn't wipe out the inside of the top hat with a rag (which might be dirty) and I don't disconnect the downstream hose and wipe it with a rag. Your factory filter was very clean which is what I expect when running a prefilter. The clogged filter warning light will come on when anything upstream from the sensor is restrictive. So it will sense a blocked prefilter or a blocked mesh filter at the tank. Most likely your prefilter caused the warning light to come on.
Awesome, great step by step help, thank you
Yep clear instructions on how to do it. Thanks
Top work! Cheers mate, worked perfectly for my 76 series =)
Awesome mate - good stuff!!!
hey man. Great video, easy to follow and understand. Thanks alot.
Keep up the good work it’s very helpful
Cheers for that. Great to see how to turn the light off.
I love how he has the clean rag resting on the red dusty plastic cover, then uses it to clean the inside of the filter lid 👍
Very clear steps. Thank you👍
Excellent thanks. Gives me confidence to give these a try or know that if I am travelling and there is an issue I can give it a go. Also a great tip to carry a spare filter. Cheers.
No dramas mate - happy to have been able to help. It’s a pretty simple process and can definitely be done roadside if required.
Thanks, well explained one of rare videos
Yep, real helpful thanks Graham
Thanks for the videos very helpful great job 👍
Great video. Keen to see more of these maintenance videos for the 200 in the future
Thanks Glen - I’m glad you liked it, I’ll sit down with my mechanic and see what we can do.
I will come back with any thoughts on some of the general stuff that you could cover off. Off the top of my head I would be keen on how to keep particular parts greased. Anything around 12v is always of interest.
That was one of the most useful videos I've seen. Careful, concise and all the main details covered professionally. It is important that even a non technical person, stuck in the outback could at least take some confidence in attempting this critical part replacement. I'm handy enough but some people are not. This video would help instil some confidence to take up the challenge. I'd be happy to watch more from you.
Cheers Rob - love your feedback and I will endeavour to get more videos like this produced for the channel.
@@great_offroad_adventures Hi Graham, a future useful video might show the replacement of the fuel filter in a Prado and perhaps the installation of a pre-fuel filter, and an extended diff breather.
Was very helpful and by the looks of it not going to be easy to forget how to do it next time
It’s fairly straight forwards 👍🏻 - glad you found it useful.

There isn’t a filter under the vehicle on mine Ben.....perhaps with the petrols.
The only filter under the vehicle on mine, is an aftermarket filter between my aux and main fuel tanks.

Many many Thanks ❤️👏👏👏
Thanks to the point top job.
I was just about to do a fuel filter change tutorial, wanted to show the difference in after market filters and OEM, but you done a great job it must be difficult keeping focus when working in a live workshop
Thanks mate - the crew in the workshop are really good to work with, always showing me better ways to do things....can get a bit noisey (as you’ll have heard) but generally makes for an easy working/ filming environment.
Would be keen to see what your thoughts are between aftermarket & OEM....think that would be a good video.
Great Off-Road Adventures - Graham Reinders might go ahead and still do it then, just the comparison and I'll link back to your video
Go for it mate
