Bang on. His extreme emotional unavailability, which I thought I was already done with attracting, has caused me to focus on me, love me more. If we met for a reason, it was clear why he met me to kick him into feeling, but why for me? Why do I have to get hurt for his lesson? But that's my lesson, to love myself more and first. Surely I've learnt enough of that lesson now?!
Remember, the cycle doesn't end until we are presented with the lesson again and we make a different choice. We have to recognize a repeating cycle and choose not to repeat it. Which means recognizing the familiarity of someone who is emotionally unavailable and choosing not to invest/repeat the cycle. You should be proud of all of the work you've done! I had an experience with a man I really loved. He would make dates and not show up not call not anything. I was brokenhearted. He would text me like he wants to be with me after he’s been with his wife and every other woman around. I cut it off and I gave him a piece of my mind. There’s just sometimes that you have to talk and say your peace. I wasn’t the kindest but was he doing what he did I’m at peace with it and I’m over it. We’re done. I’m still healing, but I’ll be OK.

I am going through this and feeling extremely sad. I have pulled back all my affective energy from my husband who I deeply love because he doesn't fill me up emotionally. I tried hard for months, trying to explain my needs, crying begging but things would change for a few days then go back to the same roommate energy. Now I am tired. I have stopped investing emotionally as I don't want to get hurt anymore. And even if he notices that I have changed he doesn't seem to mind or take note. He is happy with the way things are. I love him from the bottom of my heart but I can possibly not do much to change the scenario. Nor do I want to stray. I hope their is a solution somewhere.
